| Kelley, Kenneth | Mr. Kelley is Chairman of the Board of Directors of Halozyme Therapeutics, Inc. He brings over 25 years of entrepreneurial, venture capital, operational and technical biotechnology experience to Halozyme. Mr. Kelley has been the managing director of K2 Bioventures, a biomedical startup consulting company, since July 2004. Mr. Kelley currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer and Chair of the Board of Directors of privately held PaxVax, Inc. From April 2002 through June 2004, Mr. Kelley was a General Partner at Latterell Venture Partners, where he made investments in early stage biotechnology and medical device startups. Mr. Kelley founded IntraBiotics Pharmaceuticals in January 1994 and over eight years served as CEO, Director and Chair of the Board of Directors. Earlier, Mr. Kelley was an Associate at Institutional Venture Partners (IVP), where he participated in the financing of twenty biotech and medical companies, fifteen of which became public companies. Prior to IVP, he was a consultant for McKinsey & Company and a scientist at Integrated Genetics (acquired by Genzyme). Mr. Kelley earned an M.B.A. from Stanford University and a B.A. in Biochemical Sciences from Harvard University. Mr. Kelley is the Chair of the Board of Directors and he also serves on the Audit Committee and the Compensation Committee. |
| Lim, Jonathan | Dr. Jonathan E. Lim is President, Chief Executive Officer and Director of Halozyme Therapeutics, Inc. Dr. Lim joined Halozyme in 2003 and has served as Halozyme’s President and Chief Executive Officer since that time. From 2001 to 2003, Dr. Lim was a management consultant at McKinsey & Company, where he specialized in the health care industry, serving a wide range of start-ups to Fortune 500 companies in the biopharmaceutical, medical products, and payor/provider segments. From 1999 to 2001, Dr. Lim was a recipient of a National Institutes of Health Postdoctoral Fellowship, during which time he conducted clinical outcomes research at Harvard Medical School. He has published articles in peer-reviewed medical journals such as the Annals of Surgery and the Journal of Refractive Surgery. Dr. Lim’s prior experience also includes two years of clinical training in general surgery at the New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center; Founder and President of a health care technology start-up company; Founding Editor-in-Chief of the McGill Journal of Medicine; and basic science and clinical research at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies and Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary. Dr. Lim is currently a California-licensed physician and is a volunteer surgeon in his spare time. | Gustafson, Kurt | Mr. Kurt Gustafson is Chief Financial Officer, Vice President - Finance of Halozyme Therapeutics Inc. Mr. Gustafson brings to Halozyme's senior management team a unique combination of operational and managerial experience in financial planning and analysis, accounting, treasury, and international responsibility gained during his 18 years with Amgen. In his most recent position, as Vice President, Manufacturing Finance, Mr.Gustafson was responsible for financial planning and cost accounting for each of Amgen's worldwide manufacturing sites and the Cost Accounting Group. | Fallon, William | Mr. William J. Fallon is Vice President - Manufacturing & Operations of Halozyme Therapeutics, Inc. Mr. Fallon joined Halozyme in 2006 as Vice President, Manufacturing & Operations. His responsibilities include oversight of all aspects of internal and external manufacturing and facilities operations, as well as bioprocess development. Prior to Halozyme, he served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Cytovance Biologics, a contract manufacturing organization that provides manufacturing and development services to the biotechnology industry. From 2001 to 2003, he was Vice President of Technical Operations at Genzyme Corporation, having held the same position at Novazyme Pharmaceuticals, Inc. prior to its acquisition by Genzyme in 2001. Mr. Fallon joined Novazyme from Transkaryotic Therapies, where he was Vice President of Manufacturing from 1998 to 2001. From 1993 to 1998, he was employed in several management positions for the Ares-Serono Group, including Vice President, U.S. Manufacturing Operations. In this role, he served as general manager, overseeing the production and distribution of all of Serono’s approved biotechnology products in the U.S. From 1990 to 1992, he was Director of Manufacturing for Centocor, Inc. | Frost, Gregory | Dr. Gregory I. Frost, Ph.D. is Vice President, Chief Scientific Officer and Director of Halozyme Therapeutics Inc. Dr. Frost co-founded Halozyme in 1999 and has spent more than fourteen years conducting research on the hyaluronidase family of enzymes. From 1998 to 1999, he was a Senior Research Scientist at the Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center (SKCC), where he focused much of his work on developing the hyaluronidase technology. Prior to SKCC, his research in the Department of Pathology at the University of California, San Francisco, led directly to the purification, cloning and characterization of the human hyaluronidase gene family and the discovery of several metabolic disorders. He has authored multiple scientific peer-reviewed and invited articles in the hyaluronidase field and is an inventor on several key patents. Dr. Frost’s prior experience includes serving as a scientific consultant to a number of biopharmaceutical companies, including Q-Med AB, BioPhausia AB and Active Biotech AB. | Ramsay, David | Mr. David A. Ramsay has been Vice President & Chief Financial Officer of Halozyme Therapeutics, Inc. Mr. Ramsay joined Halozyme in 2003 and has over 20 years of corporate financial experience spanning several industries. From 2000 to 2003, he was Vice President, Chief Financial Officer of Lathian Systems, a provider of technology-based sales solutions for the life sciences industry. Prior to Lathian, Mr. Ramsay was the Vice President, Treasurer of ICN Pharmaceuticals, now called Valeant Pharmaceuticals International, a multinational, specialty pharmaceutical company. Mr. Ramsay joined ICN in 1998 from ARCO, where he spent four years in various financial roles, most recently serving as Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis for the company’s 1,700-station West Coast Retail Marketing Network. | Little, Robert | Mr. Robert L. Little is Vice President, Chief Commercial Officer of Halozyme Therapeutics, Inc. Mr. Little joined Halozyme in 2006 with extensive experience in the pharmaceutical industry in general management, commercial operations, sales and marketing and business development. From 2003 to 2006, Mr. Little was Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations at Neurocrine Biosciences, where he was responsible for building and managing the sales and marketing functions. During his tenure, Mr. Little put in place a fully integrated commercial organization, including a marketing team, a 200-person CNS sales force and full logistical and infrastructure support in order to co-detail Zoloft® with Pfizer and in preparation for the introduction of Indiplon®. | Shepard, H. Michael | Dr. Michael Shepard, Ph.D., is Vice President - Discovery Research of Halozyme Therapeutics, Inc. Dr. Shepard brings over 25 years of experience in the biotechnology industry to Halozyme. At Genentech, Dr. Shepard led the team that discovered the breast cancer drug, Herceptin (trastuzumab), which was designed to attack HER2 positive breast cancers by inhibiting their growth and enhancing their sensitivity to the immune system. | Leff, Jonathan | Dr. Jonathan Leff, M.D., is Vice President, Chief Medical Officer of Halozyme Therapeutics, Inc. While at Roche, Dr. Leff managed the worldwide clinical and registration phase of development for MabThera(TM)/Rituxan(TM), ocrelizumab, and Actemra(TM). From 2002 to 2007, Dr. Leff was at Amgen Inc., where he was vice president, North American medical affairs. His responsibilities included leadership of a department of 500 professionals, and the oversight of 5 therapeutic areas, 8 marketed products, and 4 late stage pipeline products, which involved the support and growth of 5 blockbuster brands: Neupogen(TM), Neulasta(TM), Epogen(TM), Aranesp(TM), and Enbrel(TM). In his prior role at Amgen as senior medical director and department head of osteoporosis research, he was responsible for the Phase 2 and 3 osteoporosis clinical trials for denosumab in over 10,000 patients, including a 7,800 patient fracture study. From 1994 to 2002, Dr. Leff was at Merck & Co., where he performed Phase 1 through Phase 4 clinical research studies for Singulair(TM), a treatment for asthma, which resulted in a global filing and regulatory approval. Earlier in his career, Dr. Leff was a faculty member in the Pulmonary Division of the University of Colorado School of Medicine, with responsibilities for patient care, teaching and basic research. | Patton, John | John S. Patton, Ph.D., is a Director of Halozyme Therapeutics, Inc. since 2000. He is currently the founder and President of Dance Pharmaceuticals. Prior to Dance Pharmaceuticals, Dr. Patton co-founded Nektar Therapeutics (Nasdaq-NKTR) (formerly Inhale Therapeutic Systems) and he served as Chief Scientific Officer from November 2001, and as a director from 1990, through 2008. He is an expert in the delivery of peptides and proteins. Before co-founding Nektar Therapeutics, Dr. Patton led the drug delivery group at Genentech, Inc., where he demonstrated the feasibility of systemic delivery of large molecules through the lungs. | Engler, Robert | Dr. Engler is a Director of Halozyme Therapeutics, Inc. since 2004. He spent his career as a Cardiologist at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center and the University of California, San Diego, where he retired as Professor Emeritus in 2001. While at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Dr. Engler served as Associate Chief of Staff and Chief of Research and was an attending physician, in addition to running an active cardiovascular research laboratory.
