Biographies

Name Description

Theodore Crumley

Mr. Theodore Crumley is Chairman of the Board, Lead Independent Director of Hecla Mining Company. Mr. Crumley served as the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of OfficeMax Incorporated (a distributor of office products) from January 2005 until his retirement in December 2005, and as Senior Vice President from November 2004 to January 2005. Prior to that, Mr. Crumley was Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Boise Cascade Corporation (a wood and paper company), from 1994 to 2004. Mr. Crumley received his Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in Accounting from Idaho State University College of Business in 1969.

Phillips Baker

Mr. Phillips S. Baker, Jr., is a President, Director, Chief Executive Officer of Hecla Mining Company. Prior to that, Mr. Baker held a variety of other positions with us starting in May 2001. Prior to joining us, Mr. Baker served as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Battle Mountain Gold Company (a gold mining company) from March 1998 to January 2001. Mr. Baker served as a director of Questar Corporation (a U.S. natural gas-focused exploration and production, interstate pipeline and local distribution company) from February 2004 to June 2010, and has served as a director for QEP Resources, Inc. (a natural gas and oil exploration and production company) since May 2010. Mr. Baker received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Texas A & M University in 1981, and a law degree and Master of Business Administration from the University of Houston in 1985. He became a member of the State Bar of Texas in 1985, and received his Certified Public Accountant designation in 1986 from the Texas State Board of Public Accounting.

Lindsay Hall

Mr. Lindsay A. Hall is Chief Financial Officer, Senior Vice President of Hecla Mining Company. He is a chartered accountant with over 37 years of experience. Recently, he was Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Goldcorp Inc. and prior to that held senior financial positions at Duke Energy Corporation.

Dean McDonald

Dr. Dean W. A. McDonald, Ph.D., is a Senior Vice President - Exploration of Hecla Mining Company. Prior to that was Vice President - Exploration from August 2006 to June 2013. Dr. McDonald was also appointed Senior Vice President - Exploration of our Canadian subsidiary, Hecla Canada Ltd., in July 2013 and was Vice President - Exploration from January 2007 to June 2013. Prior to joining Hecla, Dr. McDonald was Vice President Exploration and Business Development for Committee Bay Resource Ltd. (a Canadian-based exploration and development company) from 2003 to August 2006 and Exploration Manager at Miramar Mining Company/Northern Orion Explorations (an exploration company) from 1996 to 2003. Dr. McDonald has also served as a Director for Canamex Resources Corp. (a mineral exploration company) since August 2013.

Lawrence Radford

Mr. Lawrence P. Radford is a Senior Vice President - Operations of Hecla Mining Company. Prior to that was Vice President - Operations from October 2011 to June 2013. Prior to joining Hecla, Mr. Radford was Vice President of South American Operations for Kinross Gold Corporation at its South America operations (gold mining operations) from April 2010 to September 2011. Mr. Radford held various other positions at Kinross from June 2007 to March 2010. He was General Manager for Barrick Gold Corporation at its Cowal operation (a gold mining operation) in West Wyalong, NSW, Australia from January 2006 to May 2007. Mr. Radford also held various positions with Barrick from 1990 to December 2005. Prior to that, he was Planning and Project Engineer for Nerco Delamar Company (a mining company) from 1988 to 1989 and Mining Engineer for Coeur d'Alene Mines Corporation from 1984 to 1988.

David Sienko

Mr. David C. Sienko is a Vice President, General Counsel of Hecla Mining Company. Prior to his appointment, Mr. Sienko was a partner with the law firm K&L Gates LLP (formerly Bell, Boyd & Lloyd LLP) from 2004 to January 2010, where he specialized in securities, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate governance. Mr. Sienko was also an associate at Bell, Boyd & Lloyd LLP, from 2000 to 2004 and at Locke Lord from 1998 to 2000, as well as an attorney with the Securities and Exchange Commission from 1995 to 1998.

Robert Brown

Mr. Robert D. Brown is Vice President - Corporate Development of Hecla Mining Company. Prior to that was a consultant for Hecla from March 2015 to December 2015. Mr. Brown was also appointed Vice President - Corporate Development of our Canadian subsidiary, Hecla Canada Ltd., in January 2016. Prior to joining Hecla, Mr. Brown was President of Septemus Consulting Ltd. (a private consulting firm providing technical and corporate support for exploration, development, and production companies) from October 2011 to December 2015. He also served as a Vice President - Corporate Development for Fortuna Silver Mines (a Canadian-based silver producing mining company) from May 2012 to October 2014, and Chief Executive Officer, President and Director of Calibre Mining Corporation (a Canadian-based exploration and mine development company) from March 2007 to June 2011. Mr. Brown was previously Manager, Exploration Business Development and Canadian Exploration for Barrick Gold Corporation (a Canadian-based gold producing mining company) from February 2003 to March 2007. He also held various positions with Barrick Gold Corporation from 1999 to February 2003.

George Johnson

Mr. George R. Johnson is an Independent Director of Hecla Mining Company . Mr. Johnson served as Senior Vice President of Operations of B2Gold Corporation, a Canadian-based gold producing company, from August 2009 until his retirement in May 2015. He is a former Senior Vice President of Russian Operations of Kinross Gold Corporation, a senior gold mining company, from March 2007 to August 2009, and Senior Vice President of Operations of Bema Gold Corporation, a gold producing company, from October 1999 to March 2007. Mr. Johnson received a Bachelor of Science with a major in Mining Engineering from the University of Washington in 1972.

George Nethercutt

Mr. George R. Nethercutt, Jr., is an Independent Director of Hecla Mining Company. Mr. Nethercutt has served as a principal of Nethercutt Consulting LLC (a strategic planning and consulting firm) from January 2007 to January 2012. Prior to that, Mr. Nethercutt was a principal of Lundquist, Nethercutt & Griles, LLC (a strategic planning and consulting firm) from February 2005 to January 2007. Mr. Nethercutt has also been a board member for the Washington Policy Center (a public policy organization providing high quality analysis on issues relating to the free market and government regulation) since January 2005, and a member of the board of IP Street (a software company) from May 2011 to January 2015. In September 2010, Mr. Nethercutt was appointed Of Counsel with the law firm of Lee & Hayes PLLC. Mr. Nethercutt serves as a board member of ARCADIS Corporation (an international company providing consultancy, engineering and management services), the Board of Chancellors for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation International (a charity and advocate of juvenile diabetes research worldwide), and served as U.S. Chairman of the Permanent Joint Board on Defense - U.S./Canada from April 2005 to December 2009. He is the founder and Chairman of the George Nethercutt Foundation (a charitable non-profit educational foundation) formed in February 2007. From 1995 to 2005, Mr. Nethercutt served in the U.S. House of Representatives, including House Appropriations subcommittees on Interior, Agriculture and Defense and the Science Committee's subcommittee on Energy. He has been a member of the Washington State Bar Association since 1972. Mr. Nethercutt received his Bachelor of Arts in English from Washington State University in 1967, and a law degree from Gonzaga University Law School in 1971.

Stephen Ralbovsky

Mr. Stephen F. Ralbovsky is an Independent Director of Hecla Mining Company. Mr. Ralbovsky was a partner with PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP from 1990 until his retirement in June where he concentrated his practice on public companies operating in the mining industry. He previously served on the Board and as Treasurer of the American Heart Association – Arizona Affiliate, a non-profit organization dedicated to fighting heart disease, from July 1991 to June 1995; Board member (and President for one year) of Southwest Human Development, a non-profit dedicated to early childhood development, from June 1990 to June 1996; and Advisory Board member of Diocese of Phoenix Catholic Cemeteries and Mortuaries, a non-profit organization, from July 2009 to July 2012. Mr. Ralbovsky is also a member of several organizations, including: AICPA, Arizona Society of CPAs, National Mining Association, and Society for Mining, Metallurgy and Exploration. Mr. Ralbovsky received a Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in Accounting from Siena College in 1975. He also received a law degree from Albany Law School in 1978. He is licensed in D.C. and Arizona as a Certified Public Accountant.

Terry Rogers

Mr. Terry V. Rogers is an Independent Director of Hecla Mining Company. Mr. Rogers was the Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Cameco Corporation (a uranium producer) from February 2003 until his retirement in June 2007. Mr. Rogers also served as President of Kumtor Operating Company (a gold producing company and a division of Cameco Corporation) from 1999 to 2003. He has also served as a Director for Centerra Gold Inc. (a gold mining company) since February 2003. Mr. Rogers received an Associate degree in Applied Science from the Superior Technical Institute in Wisconsin in 1972. He also obtained a Chartered Director (C. Dir.) designation from The Directors College in 2011, as well as a Human Resources and Compensation Committee Certified (H.R.C.C.C.) designation from The Directors College in 2013.

Charles Stanley

Mr. Charles B. Stanley is an Independent Director of Hecla Mining Company. Mr. Stanley has been Chief Executive Officer, President and Director of QEP Resources, Inc., an independent natural gas and oil exploration and production company, since May 2010. He was appointed Chairman of the Board of QEP Resources, Inc. in May 2012. He also served as Chairman, Chief Executive Officer, President and Director of QEP Midstream Partners, LP, a master limited partnership that owns, operates, acquires and develops midstream energy assets, from May 2013 to December 2014. He served as Chief Operating Officer of Questar Corporation, a Western U.S. natural gas-focused exploration and production, interstate pipeline and local distribution company, from March 2008 to June 2010; Executive Vice President and Director of Questar Corporation from February 2002 to June 2010; President and Chief Executive Officer, Questar Market Resources, Inc., Wexpro Company, an exploration and production company that develops and produces gas reserves, Questar Exploration and Production Company, an oil and gas exploration and production company, Questar Gas Management Company, a gas gathering and processing company and Questar Energy Trading Company, a wholesale marketing and storage company, from February 2002 to June 2010.

Anthony Taylor

Dr. Anthony P. Taylor, Ph.D., is an Independent Director of Hecla Mining Company. Dr. Taylor has been the President, CEO and Director of Selex Resources Ltd. (a private Ontario Corporation engaged in mineral exploration) since January 2012. He previously served as Executive Chairman and Director of Crown Gold Corporation (a public Canadian minerals exploration company) from August 2010 to August 2012, and President, CEO and Director of Gold Summit Corporation (a public Canadian minerals exploration company) from October 2003 to August 2010. He has served as President and Director of Caughlin Preschool Corporation (a private Nevada corporation that operates a preschool) since October 2001. Dr. Taylor received his Bachelor of Science (with honors) in Geology from Durham University (U.K.) in 1964, and his Ph.D in Geology from Manchester University (U.K.) in 1974.
