Name Description

Theodore Crumley

Mr. Theodore Crumley is Chairman of the Board, Lead Independent Director of Hecla Mining Co. He is a director of the Company since 1995, was the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of OfficeMax Incorporated (distributor of office products) from January 2005 until his retirement in December 2005. He was also Senior Vice President of OfficeMax Incorporated from November 2004 to January 2005; and Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Boise Cascade Corporation (manufacturer of paper and forest products) from 1994 to 2004.

Phillips Baker

Mr. Phillips S. Baker, Jr., is President, Chief Executive Officer, Director of Hecla Mining Co. He served as Hecla’s Chief Financial Officer from May 2001 to June 2003; Chief Operating Officer from November 2001 to May 2003; and Vice President from May 2001 to November 2001. He has also served as a Director of QEP Resources, Inc. (an independent natural gas and oil exploration and production company), since May 2010, as well as serving as a Director for Questar Corporation (a Western U.S. natural gas-focused exploration and production, interstate pipeline and local distribution company) from February 2004 through June 2010.

James Sabala

Mr. James A. Sabala is Chief Financial Officer, Senior Vice President of Hecla Mining Co. He was appointed Chief Financial Officer in May 2008 and Senior Vice President in March 2008. Prior to his employment with Hecla, Mr. Sabala was Executive Vice President – Chief Financial Officer of Coeur d’Alene Mines Corporation (a mining company) from 2003 to February 2008. Mr. Sabala also served as Vice President – Chief Financial Officer of Stillwater Mining Company (a mining company) from 1998 to 2002.

Lawrence Radford

Mr. Lawrence P. Radford is Vice President - Operations of Hecla Mining Co. Prior to his appointment, Mr. Radford was Vice President of South American Operations for Kinross Gold Corporation at its South America operation (a gold mining operation) from April 2010 to September 2011. Mr. Radford held various other positions at Kinross from June 2007 to March 2010. He was General Manager for Barrick Gold Corporation at its Cowal operation (a gold mining operation) in West Wyalong, NSW, Australia from January 2006 to May 2007. Mr. Radford also held various positions with Barrick from 1990 to December 2005. Prior to that, he was Planning and Project Engineer for Nerco Delamar Company (a mining company) from 1988 to 1989 and Mining Engineer for Coeur d'Alene Mines Corporation from 1984 to 1988.

David Sienko

Mr. David C. Sienko is Vice President, General Counsel of Hecla Mining Co. Prior to his appointment, Mr. Sienko was a partner with the law firm K&L Gates LLP (formerly Bell, Boyd & Lloyd LLP) from 2004 to January 2010, where he specialized in securities, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate governance. Mr. Sienko was also an associate at Bell, Boyd & Lloyd, LLP, from 2000 to 2004 and at Locke Lord from 1998 to 2000, as well as an attorney with the Securities and Exchange Commission from 1995 to 1998.

Mike Westerlund

Mr. Mike Westerlund is Vice President - Investor Relations of Hecla Mining Co. In this role, Mr. Westerlund will lead the investor relations and external communications functions for the company and will be the primary liaison between Hecla and its investors, analysts and the financial community globally. Mr. Westerlund has experience in the minerals industry. Prior to joining Hecla, he held a variety of senior investor relations and corporate communications positions with Peregrine Diamonds Ltd., Peregrine Metals Ltd., Polaris Minerals Corp., and Ashton Mining of Canada Ltd.

Mark Board

Mr. Mark Board is Vice President - Technology & Innovation of the Company. Mr. Board was previously Hecla’s Corporate Director of Geotechnical Engineering. Prior to joining Hecla two years ago, Mr. Board worked at Itasca Consulting Group for 25 years as a mining and rock mechanics consultant to mining companies worldwide. He has a Ph.D. in Geological Engineering from the University of Minnesota and over 35 years of geotechnical engineering experience. Early in his career, Mr. Board worked at Hecla’s Star and Lakeshore mines. Mr. Board was recently elected as a member of the National Academy of Engineering (NAE), one of the United States’ national academies that provides advice to the federal government. Mr. Board has also received the 2013 SME Rock Mechanics Award and the University of Minnesota Outstanding Achievement Award.

Dean McDonald

Dr. Dean W. A. McDonald, Ph.D., is Vice President - Exploration of Hecla Mining Co. Dr. McDonald was also appointed Senior Vice President - Exploration of our Canadian subsidiary, Hecla Canada Ltd., in July 2013 and was Vice President - Exploration from January 2007 to June 2013. Prior to joining Hecla, Dr. McDonald was Vice President Exploration and Business Development for Committee Bay Resource Ltd. (a Canadian-based exploration and development company) from 2003 to August 2006 and Exploration Manager at Miramar Mining Company/Northern Orion Explorations (an exploration company) from 1996 to 2003. Dr. McDonald also serves as a Director for Canamex Resources Corp. (a mineral exploration company), since August 2013.

Don Poirier

Mr. Don Poirier is Vice President - Corporate Development of Hecla Mining Co. Mr. Poirier has also been our Vice President - Corporate Development of our Canadian subsidiary, Hecla Canada Ltd. since January 2007. Prior to joining Hecla, Mr. Poirier was a mining analyst with Blackmont Capital (capital market specialists) from September 2002 to June 2007. Mr. Poirier held other mining analyst positions from 1988 to 2002.

Luke Russell

Mr. Luke Russell is the Vice President - External Affairs of Hecla Mining Company. Prior to joining Hecla, Mr. Russell was at Coeur Mining where he most recently served as Senior Vice President Environment and Community. Prior to that, Mr. Russell worked in environmental leadership positions with Homestake Mining Company, Kennecott Utah Copper, and FMC Gold, among others. He also worked in government as the Coeur d'Alene Basin Project Manager for the State of Idaho Department of Environmental Quality. Mr. Russell also served in leadership positions in industry trade associations including past president of the American Exploration and Mining Association (formerly Northwest Mining Association) and served on the board of the Idaho Mining Association.

John Bowles

Mr. John H. Bowles is an Independent Director of Hecla Mining Co. He was a Partner in the Audit and Assurance Group of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (an accounting firm) from April 1976 until his retirement in June 2006. He has served as a Director of Mercator Minerals LTD. (a copper, molybdenum and silver mine), since April 2011; Director of Boss Power Corp. (a mineral exploration company), since September 2007; Treasurer, Mining Suppliers Association of British Columbia (an association of providers of equipment, products and related services to the British Columbia mining industry) from May 1999 to May 2012; and Director Emeritus, Ducks Unlimited Canada (a national, private, non-profit wetland conservation organization), since March 1996. He also served as a Director of HudBay Minerals Inc. (a zinc, copper, gold and silver mining company) from May 2006 to March 2009. He was appointed a Fellow of the British Columbia Institute of Chartered Accountants in December 1997, and appointed a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Mining and Petroleum in May 2003.

George Nethercutt

Mr. George R. Nethercutt, Jr., is Independent Director of Hecla Mining Co. He has been a Principal of Nethercutt Consulting LLC (a strategic planning and consulting firm), since January 2007. He has served as Chairman of The George Nethercutt Foundation (a non-profit student leadership and civics education charity), since 2007; Member, Board of Directors IP Street (a software company), since May 2011; Of Counsel, Lee & Hayes PLLC (a law firm), since September 2010; a Board Member of Washington Policy Center (a public policy organization providing analysis on issues relating to the free market and government regulation), since January 2005; a Board Member of ARCADIS Corporation (an international company providing consultancy, engineering and management services), since May 2005; Board of Chancellors, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation International (a charity and advocate of juvenile diabetes research worldwide), since June 2011. He also served as U.S. Chairman of the Permanent Joint Board on Defense - U.S./Canada from April 2005 to December 2009; Member, U.S. House of Representatives from 1995 to 2005; Member, Subcommittee on Interior, Agriculture and Defense Appropriations from 1995 to 2005; Member, Committee on Science and Energy from 1998 to 2005; and Vice Chairman, Defense Subcommittee on Appropriations from 2000 to 2004. Mr. Nethercutt has also been a member of the Washington State Bar Association since 1972.

Terry Rogers

Mr. Terry V. Rogers is Independent Director of Hecla Mining Co. Mr. Rogers was the Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Cameco Corporation (a uranium producer) from February 2003 until his retirement in June 2007. Mr. Rogers also served as President of Kumtor Operating Company (a gold producing company and a division of Cameco Corporation) from 1999 to 2003. He has also served as a Director for Centerra Gold Inc. (a gold mining company) since February 2003.

Charles Stanley

Mr. Charles B. Stanley is Independent Director of Hecla Mining Co. Mr. Stanley has been the Chief Executive Officer, President and Director of QEP Resources, Inc. (a natural gas and oil exploration and production company) since May 2010, and Chairman of QEP's board of directors since May 2012.
