Shri. Madras Seshamani Ramachandran is Non-Executive Independent Director. He has held numerous senior positions in the Indian energy sector. He has corporate and operational experience spanning over 35 years with Indian Oil Corporation Limited ("Indian Oil"), India's flagship national oil company, where he started as a management trainee in 1969 and, eventually, left as chairman of the board in 2005. During his tenure, Indian Oil grew to become the Indian corporate in the Fortune 'Global 500' listing. From 1998 to 2000, prior to his appointment to the board of Indian Oil, he served as the Executive Director of the Oil Coordination Committee of India's Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas. Following his retirement from Indian Oil, he has acted as non-executive director on the boards of a number of companies such as ICICI Bank Limited (India's second bank) and has acted in an advisory capacity to organisations including BHP Billiton India, Chevron Business Development, Inc. and International Infrastructure Consultants (P) Limited. He is also currently chairman of the India-Iraq Economic Cooperation Council and a member of the board of governors of the University of Petroleum & Energy Studies.
