Diosdado Banatao |
Mr. Diosdado P. Banatao is Executive Chairman of the Board of Ikanos Communication Inc. He resigned as Interim Chief Executive Officer, President and Principal Executive Officer, effective June 11, 2012. He has served as the company's Chairman of the company's board of directors since August 2009 and has served as the company's Interim President and Chief Executive Officer since June 2011 and from April 2010 to July 2010. Mr. Banatao is the founder and has been Managing Partner of Tallwood Venture Capital (Tallwood) since July 2000. From April 2008 to June 2009, Mr. Banatao served as Interim Chief Executive Officer of SiRF Technology Holdings, Inc. (SiRF), a publicly-traded company that was acquired by CSR plc in June 2009 (SiRF). From October 2006 to August 2007, Mr. Banatao served as Interim President and Chief Executive Officer of Inphi Corporation. Prior to forming Tallwood, Mr. Banatao was a venture partner at the Mayfield Fund, a venture capital firm, from January 1998 to May 2000. Mr. Banatao co-founded three technology startups: S3 Graphics Ltd in 1989, Chips & Technologies, Inc. in 1985 and Mostron, Inc. in 1984. He received B.S.E.E. from the Mapua Institute of Technology in the Philippines and an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University. |
Omid Tahernia |
Mr. Omid Tahernia is President, Chief Executive Officer, Director of Ikanos Communications Inc. He has over 28 years of experience in global high technology organizations and businesses providing systems and semiconductor solutions – both in the U.S. and abroad. Most recently, Tahernia served as President and CEO of Tilera Corporation, a multicore privately held company. During his tenure at Tilera, he led the company through its market emergence and drove the company business and product strategy while growing revenue in core market segments of Networking, Security, Multimedia, and Cloud Computing. Prior to Tilera, Mr. Tahernia spent three years at Xilinx, where he was Vice President and General Manager of a newly created DSP Division and later served as Vice President and General Manager of the Processing Solutions Group consisting of DSP, Embedded Processing, and IP Divisions. Prior to Xilinx, Tahernia spent 21 years at Motorola in both the equipment and semiconductor segments. He held a variety of positions at Motorola including running a nearly $1 billion wireless chipset business in the company’s Semiconductor unit, as Vice President and General Manager of the Wireless and Mobile Systems Division. Mr. Tahernia holds more than ten U.S. patents, a B.S.E.E. from Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University, and an M.S.E.E. from Georgia Institute of Technology. |
Dennis Bencala |
Mr. Dennis Bencala is Chief Financial Officer, Vice President - Finance of Ikanos Communications Inc. Prior to joining Ikanos Mr. Bencala was CFO of the Renewable Energy Test Center from October 2009 to June 2010. Mr. Bencala held successive positions at SiRF beginning with Corporate Controller in January 2000 and becoming Senior Director, Investor Relations and Business Development, in August 2007. He became acting CFO at SiRF in August 2008 and CFO from Sept 2008 until October 2009. Prior to joining SiRF Mr. Bencala served as Corporate Controller at ScanVision, Inc., a developer of image sensing semiconductor products from June 1995 to December 1999. Dr. Debajyoti Pal, Ph.D., is Chief Technology Officer, Senior Vice President of Ikanos Communications Inc. He has served as Chief Technology Officer since August 2009. From April 2004 until August 2009. Dr. Pal was Chief Technology Officer and Executive in Residence at Tallwood Venture Capital. Prior to joining Tallwood. Dr. Pal founded Telicos Corporation in May 2002 and was President until April 2004. Dr. Pal was Vice President of Technology & Product Development of Virata/Globespan Virata from August 2000 until April 2002. In May 1998 he founded Excess Bandwidth Corporation and was Vice President of Technology and Vice President engineering until August 2000 when it was acquired by Virata. Dr. Pal received a Bachelors degree in electronics and electrical communication engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, a M.S.E.E. degree from Washington State University and a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Stanford University. Stu Krometis |
Mr. Stu Krometis is Vice President - Sales of Ikanos Communications, Inc. With more than 20 years of experience in the semiconductor industry, Krometis joins Ikanos from Cavium, where he led all sales activities in the Asia-Pacific region as vice president of APAC sales. Krometis has a track record in selling integrated SOCs for networking and consumer applications. He has managed global accounts and led sales teams in North America, Europe, and Asia. Under his management of Cavium's Global Strategic Accounts, he closed several design wins that grew the accounts' revenue by more than 50 percent over the last three years. In addition, he extended Cavium's distributor and ODM strategies in Taiwan, facilitating the development of better turnkey hardware and software solutions to reduce time-to-market for OEMs. Krometis was at Cavium for eight years and was senior director of global accounts and EMEA sales prior to his most recent position as vice president of APAC sales. Before joining Cavium, Krometis served in various sales roles at AMCC, including Cisco global account management. Krometis has a BBA from Roanoke College. |
Kourosh Amiri |
Mr. Kourosh Amiri has been appointed as Vice President - Marketing of Ikanos Communications, Inc. Amiri joins Ikanos from Cavium, where he led marketing and business development for its emerging media processor group, and drove the strategy for turning Cavium into a supplier of wireless display media processors in multiple market segments, including smartphones and PC accessories. Prior to joining Cavium, Amiri held senior marketing and business development roles at Freescale and several venture-backed semiconductor start-ups, addressing a wide range of networking and media processing applications. Amiri has an MSEE from Stanford University and a BSEE from the University of California, Santa Barbara. |

Mr. James Murphy is Vice President - Worldwide Human Resources of Ikanos Communications Inc. Prior to joining Ikanos he served as Vice President, Human Resources for North America and Asia Pacific for CSR plc from August 2009 until May 2010. Mr. Frederick M. Lax is Independent Director of Ikanos Communications Inc., since January 26, 2008. Since 2006, Mr. Lax has worked as an independent communications executive advisor.
