Name Description

Andrew Sukawaty

Mr. Andrew (Andy) J. Sukawaty is Non-Executive Chairman of the Board of Inmarsat Plc. He served as Non-Executive Chairman of Ziggo N.V. until November 2014. He has previously been President and Chief Executive Officer of Sprint PCS, a NYSE listed global national wireless carrier and Chief Executive Officer of NTL Limited. He has also held various management positions with US West and AT&T and been a Non-Executive Director on various listed companies. Andy holds a BBA and MBA respectively from the University of Wisconsin and Minnesota. He is also Non-Executive Director of Sky plc and Executive-in-Residence for Warburg Pincus.

Rupert Pearce

Mr. Rupert Pearce is Chief Executive Officer, Executive Director of Inmarsat Plc. He joined Inmarsat in January 2005 as Group General Counsel and from January 2009, additionally held the position of Senior Vice President, Inmarsat Enterprises. He became an Executive Director in July 2011 and CEO in January 2012. Previously, Rupert worked for Atlas Venture, where he was a partner working with the firm’s European and U.S. investment teams. He has also been a partner at the international law firm Linklaters, where he spent 13 years specialising in corporate finance, mergers & acquisitions and private equity transactions. Rupert received an MA (First Class) in Modern History from Oxford University and won the 1995 Fulbright Fellowship in U.S. securities law, studying at the Georgetown Law Center. He has been a visiting fellow of the Imperial College Business School, London lecturing on the school’s Entrepreneurship programme, and is the co-author of ‘Raising Venture Capital’ (Wiley).

John Rennocks

Mr. John L. Rennocks is Senior Independent Non-Executive Director, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Inmarsat Plc. He has broad experience in biotechnology, support services and manufacturing. He served as Non- Executive Chairman of Diploma plc until January 2015 and as an Executive Director – Finance of a number of public companies including British Steel plc/ Corus Group plc, Powergen plc and Smith & Nephew plc. John is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales. He is also Non-Executive Chairman of Bluefield Solar Income Fund Ltd; Non-Executive Director of Greenko Group plc.

Tony Bates

Mr. Tony Bates has been appointed as Chief Financial Officer, Executive Director of Inmarsat Plc. Mr. Bates is an experienced senior finance and business professional. He has been the Group CFO of hibu (previously Yell Group Plc) since November 2010. He played a leading role in the multi billion pound refinancing of the Group's capital structure and in the delivery of a much lower cost operating model. Prior to hibu, he was Chief Operating Officer of Colt Group S.A., the pan-European business telecoms operator, where he was responsible for the Finance function from 2003 to 2009. His previous senior management experience was mainly with EMI Group plc, latterly as Group Finance Director. Mr. Bates took a First Class BSc in Management Sciences at the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.

Mr. Leo Mondale is President - Aviation Business Unit of Inmarsat Plc. Prior thereto, Managing Director - Global Xpress of the company. He joined Inmarsat in 2004 and has been Managing Director, Growth Management Services since 2013. Previously he served as Managing Director for our Global Xpress programme and Vice President of Business Development and Strategy. Before joining Inmarsat, Mr. Mondale held a variety of senior positions in the satellite and aerospace industries, including as partner in Thaler Associates, a defense industry advisory firm, and as President of Arianespace Inc., responsible for the European launch services firm’s sales, marketing and governmental affairs in the United States. Mr. Mondale also held a range of posts, including Senior VP and Chief Financial Officer at Iridium. Mr. Mondale holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Minnesota and was awarded a Juris Doctor degree from the George Washington University, Washington, D.C. management Services.

Ronald Spithout

Mr. Ronald Spithout is President - Maritime Business Unit of Inmarsat Plc. Prior thereto, he was President - Enterprise of the company. He was appointed President, Inmarsat Enterprise, in January 2012. He came to Inmarsat from Stratos Global, which was acquired by Inmarsat in April 2009. From July 2006 until December 2011, Mr. Spithout was Senior Vice President, MSS Marketing and Sales, Worldwide, for Stratos Global, with global responsibility for the MSS marketing and sales organisation. Prior to that, he was responsible for Stratos MSS Sales for all countries except North America. He came to Stratos from Xantic B.V., a satellite communications company headquartered in The Netherlands, which was acquired by Stratos in early 2006. At Xantic, Mr. Spithout served as Executive Vice President Marketing and Sales. Mr. Spithout held various sales positions in the late 1980s for KPN (the Royal Dutch Telecom Operator) in the Netherlands. Mr. Spithout holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from HTS-Rotterdam, the Rotterdam Institute for Technology. He also served as a reserve Lieutenant in the Dutch Cavalry.

Andy Start

Mr. Andy Start is President - Global Government Business Unit of Inmarsat Plc. He joined Inmarsat in 2012 and is President, Inmarsat Global Government. Prior to joining Inmarsat he was President of Harris Corporation’s international tactical radio business, Managing Director of BAE Systems Platform Solutions Business, and Director of EADS Astrium’s Military Space Business. During his time at EADS Astrium he was responsible for the Skynet 4 programme and was instrumental in the creation of the Skynet 5 service provision that enables UK MOD to exploit military and commercial satellite communications across the complete array of military tasks and operations. Andy has completed two Government secondments: one in the UK MOD, the other in the Department of Trade and Industry, where he was responsible to the Secretary of State for leading the development of the UK’s National Aerospace Strategy.

Ruy Pinto

Mr. Ruy Pinto is Group Chief Operating Officer of Inmarsat Plc. Prior thereto, Chief Technology Officer of the company. He joined Inmarsat in 1990 and became Chief Operations Officer in November 2013. Between January 2012 and November 2013 he was Chief Technical Officer. From 2009 to 2011, Mr. Pinto was Vice President of Satellite and Network Operations responsible for network and satellite operations, spectrum management and yield optimisation functions for the product portfolio, as well as navigation services. His previous roles in Inmarsat focused on satellite operations. Mr. Pinto is a former Chair of UK Space, the UK space industry trade association. He has a background in electronics and data communications. Mr. Pinto graduated with a degree in Electronics Engineering from the Rio de Janeiro Catholic University in Brazil, followed by a post-graduate degree in Digital Telecommunications Systems.

Alison Horrocks

Ms. Alison Horrocks is Executive Vice President - Corporate Governance, Company Secretary of Inmarsat plc. Prior thereto, Senior Vice President - Corporate Governance, Company Secretary of the company. She joined Inmarsat in 1999 and provides corporate governance advice and acts as Company Secretary to the Board and its Committees. She is a member of the Executive Management Board and Chairman of the Trustee Company responsible for Inmarsat’s UK pension plans. Alison is a Fellow of the Chartered Secretaries and Administrators. She was Group Company Secretary of International Public Relations plc, a worldwide public relations company, for 11 years prior to joining Inmarsat.

Ms. Debbie Jones is Executive Vice President - Corporate Development of Inmarsat Plc. Prior thereto, Senior Vice President - Corporate Development of the company. She joined us in 2000. She is our Senior Vice President, Corporate Development. Ms Jones is a non-executive director of Capital Law LLP. Between 1995 and 2000, she was the senior human resources adviser for Eversheds Solicitors. Between 1988 and 1995, she was the head of personnel at Companies House in Cardiff. Prior to this, Ms Jones held various operational, information technology supervisory and management positions at the Department of Trade and Industry and the Office for National Statistics. She is a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.

Mr. Simon T. Bax is Non-Executive Independent Director of Inmarsat Plc. He was, from 2008 to 2013, CEO of Encompass Digital Media Inc, which provides technical services to broadcasters, cable networks and government agencies. He previously served as CFO and Executive Vice President of Pixar Animation and CFO and President of Studio Operations of Fox Filmed Entertainment. Mr. Bax holds an honours degree in History from Cambridge University and is a chartered accountant. He is also Chairman of Archant Ltd; and Non-Executive Director of MobiTV Inc, and Pulsant Ltd; Director of the British Bobsleigh and Skeleton Association; A member of the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences and the British Academy of Film and Television Arts.

Bryan Carsberg

Sir Bryan Carsberg is Non-Executive Independent Directorof Inmarsat Plc. He is a Chartered Accountant. He spent eight years as Director General of Telecommunications (head of Oftel), and then served as Director General of Fair Trading and Secretary General of the International Accounting Standards Board. He was previously Chairman of the Council of Loughborough University; Non-Executive Director of Cable and Wireless Communications plc; RM plc and Non-Executive Chairman of MLL Telecom Limited. He was knighted in January 1989. Sir Bryan is an Honorary Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries and holds an MSc (Econ) from the University of London. He is also Non-Executive Director of Novae Group plc; Non-Executive Director of Actual Experience plc.

Stephen Davidson

Mr. Stephen James Davidson is Non-Executive Independent Director of Inmarsat Plc. He held various positions in Investment Banking, finally at West LB Panmure where he was Global Head of Media and Telecoms and Vice Chairman of Investment Banking. From 1993 to 1998 Stephen was Finance Director, then Chief Executive Officer of Telewest Communications plc. He was Chairman of the Cable Communications Association from 1996 to 1998. Stephen holds a first class Honours degree in Mathematics and Statistics from the University of Aberdee. He is also Chairman of Datatec Limited, Actual Experience plc and PRS for music; Non-Executive Director of Restore plc; Deputy Chairman of Jaywing Group plc.

Kathleen Flaherty

Ms. Kathleen R. Flaherty is Non-Executive Independent Director of Inmarsat Plc. She has served on the Board of a number of public companies including Marconi Corporation plc, Telent plc and CMS Energy Corporation. She was President and Chief Operating Officer of Winstar International. Her previous career has included senior roles as Chief Marketing Officer with AT&T and other senior roles with BT and MCI Communications Inc. Kathleen was a non-executive director of GenTek Inc until October 2009 and hibu plc until March 2014. Kathleen holds a PhD in Industrial Engineering and Management Sciences from Northwestern University, Illinois. She is also a member of the McCormick Advisory Board and its executive committee of Northwestern University.

C. Robert Kehler

General C. Robert Kehler, United States Air Force (Retired), is Non-Executive Independent Director of Inmarsat Plc. He retired from the US Air Force in January 2014 with over 38 years of service. He oversaw a global network of satellite command and control, communications, missile warning and launch facilities, and ensured the combat readiness of America’s intercontinental ballistic missile force. Over his career, he served in a variety of important operational and staff assignments, and successfully led large organisations with global responsibilities. He is also Proxy board of directors of BEI Precision Systems and Space Company; Trustee of the Mitre Corporation; Member of the Advisory Board for Outreach and Online Education of the Pennsylvania State University; Senior Fellow of the National Defense University; Visiting Lecturer for academic year 2014-15, Stanford University Center for International Security and Cooperation; Senior advisor to McKinsey and Company.

Janice Obuchowski

Amb. Janice I. Obuchowski is Non-Executive Independent Director of Inmarsat Plc. She held several senior positions both in the US Government and in the private sector. She was formerly Head of Delegation and US Ambassador to the World Radiocommunications Conference, Assistant Secretary for Communications and Information at the Department of Commerce and Senior Advisor to the Chairman at the Federal Communications Commission in the US. She is also Non-Executive Director of Orbital ATK; Non-Executive Director of CSG Systems, Inc; President of Freedom Technologies Inc.

Abraham Peled

Dr. Abraham Peled is Non-Executive Independent Director of Inmarsat Plc. He spent from 1995 to 2012 with NDS Group plc, a digital pay-TV company, and served as Chairman and CEO from 2004 to 2012. He was Senior Vice President of Cisco from August 2012 to January 2014 and has previous senior management experience with IBM and Elron. Abe has a BSc and MSc in Electrical Engineering and a PhD in Digital Signal Processing. In March 2013, he was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award by Digital TV Europe. He is also Principal to CyberCloud Ventures. Senior advisor on technology businesses to Permira.

Hamadoun Toure

Dr. Hamadoun Toure is Non-Executive Independent Director of Inmarsat Plc. He was Secretary General of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the specialised agency of the United Nations dedicated to information and communication technologies from 2007 to 2014. He was the founding member of the Broadband Commission for Digital Development and served as co-vice chair until his retirement from the ITU. He has also had a distinguished career in the satellite industry. He is also Advisory Board of the International Multilateral Partnership Against Cyber Threats; Member of the UN Chief Executive Board.
