Name Description

Andrew Sukawaty

Mr. Andrew (Andy) J. Sukawaty has been Executive Chairman of the Board of Inmarsat PLC since January 1, 2012. He is also Chairman of the Nominations Committee of the Company. He joined the Company in December 2003 as Chairman of the Board and then, From March 2004 to December 31, 2011, held the joint role of Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of the Company. He served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Sprint PCS, a NYSE listed national wireless carrier, for four years, and previously as Chief Executive Officer of NTL Limited. His previous career included various management positions at the United States West and AT&T and as a non-executive director on various listed companies. Mr. Sukawaty holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Wisconsin and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Minnesota.

Rupert Pearce

Mr. Rupert Pearce is Chief Executive Officer, Executive Director of Inmarsat PLC. Rupert joined Inmarsat in January 2005 as Group General Counsel and from January 2009, additionally held the position of Senior Vice President, Inmarsat Enterprises. He became an Executive Director in July 2011 and CEO in January 2012. Previously, Rupert worked for Atlas Venture, where he was a partner working with the firm’s European and U.S. investment teams. He has also been a partner at the international law firm Linklaters, where he spent 13 years specialising in corporate finance, mergers & acquisitions and private equity transactions. Rupert received an MA (First Class) in Modern History from Oxford University and won the 1995 Fulbright Fellowship in U.S. securities law, studying at the Georgetown Law Center. He has been a visiting fellow of the Imperial College Business School, London lecturing on the school’s Entrepreneurship programme, and is the co-author of ‘Raising Venture Capital’ (Wiley).

John Rennocks

Mr. John L. Rennocks is Senior Independent Non-Executive Deputy Chairman of the Board of Inmarsat plc. John has broad experience in emerging energy sources, support services and manufacturing. He served as an Executive Director – Finance of a number of public companies including British Steel plc/Corus Group plc, Powergen plc and Smith & Nephew plc. He is Non-Executive Chairman of Diploma plc and Non-Executive Director of Greenko Group plc.

Tony Bates

Mr. Tony Bates has been appointed as Chief Financial Officer, Executive Director of the Company. Mr. Bates is an experienced senior finance and business professional. He has been the Group CFO of hibu (previously Yell Group Plc) since November 2010. He played a leading role in the multi billion pound refinancing of the Group's capital structure and in the delivery of a much lower cost operating model. Prior to hibu, he was Chief Operating Officer of Colt Group S.A., the pan-European business telecoms operator, where he was responsible for the Finance function from 2003 to 2009. His previous senior management experience was mainly with EMI Group plc, latterly as Group Finance Director. Mr. Bates took a First Class BSc in Management Sciences at the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.

Ms. Alison Horrocks is Senior Vice President - Corporate Governance, Company Secretary of Inmarsat plc. Alison joined Inmarsat in 1999 and provides corporate governance advice and acts as Company Secretary to the Board and its Committees. She is Chairman of the Trustee Company responsible for Inmarsat’s UK pension plans. Alison is a Chartered Secretary. She was Group Company Secretary of International Public Relations plc, a worldwide public relations company, for 11 years prior to joining Inmarsat.

Mr. Simon T. Bax has been appointed as Additional Non-Executive Director of Inmarsat PLC., effective June 18, 2013. Simon Bax was, from 2008 to 2013, CEO of Encompass Digital Media Inc which provides technical services to broadcasters, cable networks and government agencies. Previous senior management experience was with Pixar Animation Studios and Fox Filmed Entertainment. Mr. Bax has a degree in History and is a chartered accountant. He is a non-executive director of MobiTV and a trustee and member of a number of other organisations.

C. Robert Kehler

General C. Robert Kehler, United States Air Force (Retired), has been appointed as Additional Non-Executive Director of the Company effective May 6, 2014. He retired from the Air Force in January 2014 with over 38 years of service. Prior to his retirement, General Kehler served as Commander, U.S. Strategic Command from January 2011 to November 2013. In that position he was directly responsible to the President and Secretary of Defense for the plans and operations of all U.S. forces conducting strategic deterrence, and Department of Defense space and cyberspace operations. Prior to that assignment, he served as Commander, Air Force Space Command from October 2007 to January 2011. As commander of Air Force Space Command, General Kehler was responsible for the development, acquisition and operation of the Air Force's space and missile systems. He oversaw a global network of satellite command and control, communications, missile warning and launch facilities, and ensured the combat readiness of America's intercontinental ballistic missile force. Over his career, General Kehler served in a variety of important operational and staff assignments, and successfully led large organizations with global responsibilities.

Abraham Peled

Dr. Abe Peled has been appointed as Additional Non-Executive Director of Inmarsat PLC., effective June 18, 2013. Dr. Peled spent from 1995 to 2012 with NDS Group plc, a digital pay-TV company, which was part of the News Corp group and was most recently bought by Cisco. He was Chairman and CEO of NDS Group plc from 2004 to 2012. Since August 2012, Dr Peled has been Senior Vice President Strategy, Video and Collaboration Group, Cisco. He is also a senior advisor on technology businesses to UK private equity firm, Permira. He has previous senior management experience with IBM and Elron. Dr Peled has a BSc and MSc in Electrical Engineering and a PhD in Digital Signal Processing. In March 2013, Dr Peled was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award by Digital TV Europe.

Bryan Carsberg

Sir Bryan Carsberg is Independent Non-Executive Director of Inmarsat plc, since June 22, 2005. Sir Bryan is a Chartered Accountant. He spent eight years as Director General of the Telecommunications (head of Oftel), and then served as Director General of Fair Trading and Secretary General of the International Accounting Standards Board. He was previously Chairman of the Council of Loughborough University, a nonexecutive director of Cable and Wireless Communications plc, RM plc and a non-executive Chairman of MLL Telecom Limited. He was knighted in January 1989.

Stephen Davidson

Mr. Stephen James Davidson is Independent Non-Executive Director of Inmarsat plc, since June 22, 2005. Stephen was Global Head of Media and Telecoms Investment Banking and subsequently Vice Chairman of Investment Banking at West LB Panmure. His previous career has included various senior positions in investment banking. He was Finance Director, then Chief Executive Officer of Telewest Communications plc and has been Chairman of the Cable Communications Association. He is Chairman of Datatec Limited and Mecom Group plc (LSE) and holds several other non-executive directorships.

Kathleen Flaherty

Ms. Kathleen R. Flaherty is Independent Non-Executive Director of Inmarsat plc, since May 9, 2006. Kathleen served on the Board of a number of public companies including Marconi Corporation plc and Telent plc. She was President and Chief Operating Officer of Winstar International. Her previous career has included senior roles as Chief Marketing Officer with AT&T and other senior roles with BT and MCI Communications Inc. Kathleen was a Non-Executive Director of GenTek Inc until October 2009. She is Non-Executive Director of hibu plc (LSE). A member of the McCormick Advisory Board and its executive committee of Northwestern University.

Amb. Janice I. Obuchowski is Independent Non-Executive Director of Inmarsat plc, since May 5, 2009. Janice held several senior positions both in the US government and in the private sector. She was formerly Head of Delegation and US Ambassador to the World Radiocommunications Conference, Assistant Secretary for Communications and information at the Department of Commerce and Senior Advisor to the Chairman at the Federal Communications Commission in the US. She is Non-Executive Director of Orbital Sciences Corporation and CSG Systems, Inc.
