Name Description

Roger Putnam

Professor Roger G. Putnam, CBE is Non-Executive Independent Chairman of the Board of ITM Power Plc. He is the former Chairman of Ford of Britain and President of the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders, was a member of the Government’s Energy Review Partnership.The Partnership reported to the Chancellor on the country’s future energy strategy. He was also Chairman of the DTI’s Retail Motor Strategy Group and a member of the Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform (DBERR)’s Automotive Innovation and Strategy Team. Other directorships include: Chairman of Suila Ltd, Non-Executive Director of Halcyon Days Ltd and Trustee of the Jaguar Trust. He is also a Visiting Professor of Automotive Studies at the City of London University.Roger’s distinguished career in the automotive industry began at Lotus Plc. In 1982 he joined Jaguar Cars Ltd as Director, Global Marketing and UK Sales Operations. In 1985 Roger was appointed to the Board of Jaguar as Director, Sales and Marketing, a role he retained until he was appointed Chairman of Ford of Britain in 2002.

Graham Cooley

Dr. Graham Edward Cooley serves as Chief Executive Officer, Executive Director of ITM Power Plc. He joined Graham joined ITM on 29 June 2009 as Chief Executive Officer. Before joining, Graham was CEO of Sensortec and Universal Sensors, founding CEO of Metalysis Ltd, (a spin-out of Cambridge University), and founding CEO of Antenova Ltd. Graham spent 11 years in the power industry developing conducting polymers, fuel cells, batteries and energy storage technologies. He was Business Development Manager for National Power Plc and International Power Plc and developed the Regenesys energy storage technology, which was acquired by RWE from Innogy. He has a degree in Physics, a PhD in Materials technology and an MBA.

Simon Bourne

Dr. Simon James Bourne is Chief Technology Officer, Executive Director of ITM Power Plc. He joined ITM in 2002 as a Technical Manager and has been one of the leading scientists involved in the development of ITM’s suite of patented membrane materials. Before joining ITM, Simon was a project engineer with Sonatest Plc and a researcher with the Ministry of Defence. Simon has a BSc Hons in Materials Science from UMIST and a PhD from Cranfield University.

Rachel Smith

Dr. Rachel Louise Smith has been appointed as Executive Director of the Company, with effect from 10 September 2015. Dr Smith has worked for ITM Power since it was set up in 2002. She has held a variety of roles including Research Scientist (2002-2004), Head of Science (2004-2008) and Operations Manager (2008-2013). Most recently, she serves as Partnership Funding Manager where her duties include identifying suitable grant calls, liaising with potential partners, developing project concepts and writing bid applications. She is also responsible for grant project management, providing an effective interface between ITM Power and funding bodies and ensuring that staff are supported in delivering high quality outputs.

Mr. Andy C. Allen is an Company Secretary of ITM Power Plc. He has been a Financial Controller of the Company.

Roger Bone

Sir Roger Bone has been appointed as Non-Executive Director of ITM Power PLC., with effect from 3 June 2014. He has been President of Boeing UK since September 2005. He is a non-executive director of F&C Investment Trust plc, and a non-executive director and Trustee of the National Centre for Universities and Business. Sir Roger is also one of the Prime Minister's honorary UKTI Ambassadors for British Business. Sir Roger previously had a career in the British Diplomatic Service. He was Ambassador to Brazil from 1999 to 2004 and to Sweden from 1995 to 1999. He was an Assistant Under Secretary of State in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office from 1991 to 1995, and at earlier stages in his career served in Moscow, Brussels and Washington. Sir Roger is a graduate of Oxford University, and a former Visiting Fellow at Harvard University. He is also a Trustee of the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI).

Robert Pendlebury

Mr. Robert Michael Pendlebury is Non-Executive Director of the Company. He has worked in senior management positions in both Ford Motor Company and J C Bamford Excavators Limited ("JCB"). His early career was devoted to the design and development of Ford commercial vehicles including the Ford Transit and Ford Cargo truck range. His final role there was Transit Vehicle Development Manager responsible for the whole range of vehicles built in several European locations. This was Ford's most successful vehicle in Europe for over 25 years. Leaving Ford in 1991 he joined JCB as Research Director and eventually became their Engineering and Research Director responsible for all products. During his time there, the company grew its business substantially worldwide with manufacturing in UK, USA and India. Always interested in engines, he led the team that developed the JCB Dieselmax range of engines now built in both the UK and India. This was JCB's first in house engine and powers the majority of JCB vehicles. Over 200,000 have been built to date. Although he retired from full time employment with JCB in 2005, he remains a Consultant to the company and is also a Visiting Professor in Engineering Design at Loughborough University and the Associate Engineering Director of the JCB Academy. He is a Mechanical Engineering graduate of Leeds University and a Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers.

Roger Freeman

The Retired Honourable Lord Roger Norman Freeman is Non-Executive Independent Director of ITM Power Plc., since October 1, 2010. He joined ITM Power in October 2010 as a Non-Executive Director. Lord Freeman is a member of the House of Lords and is currently Chairman of the Advisory Board of PricewaterhouseCoopers (UK). During a distinguished political career, Lord Freeman was the Conservative MP for Kettering from 1983 to 1997, served as the Parliamentary Secretary for the Departments of Health and Armed Forces, and as Minister of State for Public Transport and Defence Procurement. He concluded his political career as a Cabinet Minister in the government of John Major. He became a Life Peer in 1997. Lord Freeman is a graduate of Balliol College and a Chartered Accountant. He was a Partner and Managing Director with Lehman Brothers in New York and London (1972 to 1985), specialising in cross-border mergers and acquisitions. Other directorships include: Chemring Group plc, Big DNA Ltd and Parity Group plc.

Peter Hargreaves

Mr. Peter Kendal Hargreaves is Non-Executive Independent Director of ITM Power Plc. He joined the Board of ITM in February 2004 as a Non-Executive Director. After qualifying as a chartered accountant, he was employed by KPMG, Unisys, and Whitbread and Company Limited. In 1981 he founded the national investment brokerage Hargreaves Lansdown Plc, which was successfully floated on the London Stock Exchange in May 2007 and now has a market value in excess of £2.5 billion.Peter remains an Executive Director of Hargreaves Lansdown Plc.
