Mixon, Aaron A. Malachi Mixon, III has been a Director of Invacare Corporation since 1979. Mr. Mixon has been Chief Executive Officer since 1979 and Chairman of the Board since 1983 and also served as President until 1996, when Gerald B. Blouch, Chief Operating Officer, was elected as Company's President. Mr. Mixon serves as a director of The Sherwin-Williams Company (NYSE), Cleveland, Ohio, a manufacturer and distributor of coatings and related products. Mr. Mixon also serves as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of The Cleveland Clinic Foundation, Cleveland, Ohio, one of the world’s academic medical centers. Mr. Mixon also serves on the board of Park-Ohio Holdings Corp (NASDAQ), Cleveland, Ohio, a provider of supply chain logistics services and a manufacturer of highly engineered products.
Blouch, Gerald Gerald B. Blouch has been President and a Director of Invacare Corporation since November 1996. Mr. Blouch has been Chief Operating Officer since December 1994 and Chairman—Invacare International since December 1993. Previously, Mr. Blouch was President—Homecare Division from March 1994 to December 1994 and Senior Vice President—Homecare Division from September 1992 to March 1994. LaPlaca, Anthony Anthony C. LaPlaca was appointed Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of Invacare Corporation effective January 2009. Previously, Mr. LaPlaca served as Vice President and General Counsel for six and a half years with Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems LLC, a member of the Knorr-Bremse group. Since 1996, Dr. Harris has been the Chief Information Officer and Chairman of the Information Technology Division of The Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio and a Staff Physician for The Cleveland Clinic Hospital and The Cleveland Clinic Foundation Department of General Internal Medicine. LaPorte, Dale Mr. Dale C. LaPorte become Director of Invacare Corporation effective February 12, 2009. Mr. LaPorte served as Senior Vice President — Business Development and General Counsel of the Company from December 2005 to December 2008. Prior to that, Mr. LaPorte was a partner at Calfee, Halter & Griswold LLP from 1974 to 2005 and served as chairman of that firm from 2000 to 2004. Robb, Charles Sen. Charles S. Robb has been appointed as Director of Invacare Corporation effective March 1, 2010. Senator Robb served as Lt. Governor of Virginia from 1978 to 1982, as Virginia's 64th Governor from 1982 to 1986, and as a United States Senator from 1989 to 2001. While in the Senate, he became the first member ever to serve simultaneously on all three national security committees (Armed Services, Foreign Relations and Intelligence). He also served on the Finance, Commerce, and Budget Committees. Since leaving the Senate in 2001, he has been a Distinguished Professor of Law and Public Policy at George Mason University and has served as Chairman of the Board of Visitors at the United States Naval Academy and Co-Chairman of the President's Commission on Intelligence Capabilities of the United States Regarding Weapons of Mass Destruction. He is currently Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the MITRE Corporation, a not-for-profit organization that conducts federally funded research and development. During the 1960's, he served on active duty with the U.S. Marine Corps, retiring from the Marine Corps Reserve in 1991. He began as the Class Honor Graduate from Marine Officers Basic School in 1961 and ended up as head of the principal recruiting program for Marine officers in 1970. In between, he served in both the 1st and 2nd Marine Divisions, and his assignments included duty as a military social aide at the White House and command of an infantry company in combat in Vietnam.
