Biographies

Name Description

John Hanson

Mr. John Nils Hanson is Independent Chairman of the Board of Joy Global Inc. He previously served as the President and Chief Executive Officer from 1999 to 2006. Mr. Hanson ran a series of industrial product and capital goods businesses before joining Joy Technologies Inc. in 1990, where he served as President of the Underground Mining Machinery Division until its acquisition in 1995. He has a Ph.D. in nuclear engineering/reactor physics. Mr. Hanson has also served as a director of Arrow Electronics, Inc. since 1998.

Edward Doheny

Mr. Edward L. Doheny, II, has been appointed as President, Chief Executive Officer, Director of Joy Global Inc. , effective February 1, 2014. He has been appointed as Director of the Company effective December 2013. He has served as Executive Vice President of Joy Global and as President and COO of the Underground Mining Equipment division since 2006. Prior to joining Joy Global, he spent 20 years with Ingersoll-Rand Corporation in a series of senior executive positions of increasing responsibility. While there, Mr. Doheny served as President of Industrial Technologies from 2003 to 2005, President of Shared Services in 2003, and previously as President of the Air Solutions Group. Mr. Doheny holds a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from Cornell University and a Master’s degree in Management from Purdue University.

James Sullivan

Mr. James M. Sullivan is Chief Financial officer, Executive Vice President of Joy Global Inc. He previously served as Chief Financial Officer of Solutia, Inc. from 2004 until July 2012. Mr. Sullivan also served as Solutia’s Executive Vice President from 2009 until his departure and previously served as Senior Vice President from 2004 through 2009 and Treasurer from 2004 through 2011.

Randal Baker

Mr. Randal W. Baker is Chief Operating Officer, Executive Vice President of Joy Global Inc., effective February 1, 2014. He is no longer and President and Chief Operating Officer of P&H Mining Equipment Inc., a subsidiary of the Company, effective December 2013. He has served as Executive Vice President of Joy Global and as President and COO of the Surface Mining Equipment division since 2009. Before coming to Joy Global, Mr. Baker had 23 years of domestic and international marketing, operations, service support and quality systems experience in the construction, mining and agricultural equipment industries. Prior to joining Joy Global, Mr. Baker was President and CEO of Case IH Agriculture Inc. from 2004 to 2009, and from 2000 to 2004 he served as Vice President and General Manager of Komatsu Mining Systems. Mr. Baker holds a Bachelor of Science degree in mining engineering from South Dakota School of Mines and Technology.

Sean Major

Mr. Sean D. Major is Executive Vice President, General Counsel, Secretary of Joy Global Inc. From 1998 to 2006 Mr. Major was a corporate officer of Johnson Controls, Inc., most recently Assistant General Counsel and Assistant Secretary.

Johan Maritz

Mr. Johan S. Maritz is Executive Vice President - Human Resources of Joy Global Inc. From February 2007 to December 2012 he served as Vice President, Human Resources of Joy Mining Machinery.

Richard Loynd

Mr. Richard B. Loynd is Lead Independent Director of Joy Global Inc. He is President of Loynd Capital Management. Mr. Loynd was formerly Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Furniture Brands International, Inc., and previously served as Chairman and/or Chief Executive Officer, or as a director, of a number of public companies doing business in the industrial and consumer product areas.

Steven Gerard

Mr. Steven L. Gerard is Independent Director of Joy Global Inc. He is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of CBIZ, Inc., provider of integrated business services and products headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio. Mr. Gerard has served as Chief Executive Officer and a director since 2000 and as Chairman since 2002. Mr. Gerard is a director of Lennar Corporation since 2000.

Mark Gliebe

Mr. Mark J. Gliebe is Independent Director of the Company. Mr. Gliebe has served as the Chief Executive Officer of Regal Beloit since 2011 and as Chairman of the Board since 2012. Previously, Mr. Gliebe was employed by Regal Beloit as President and Chief Operating Officer from 2006 to 2011 and as Vice President and President-Electronic Motors Group during 2005. Mr. Gliebe previously was employed by General Electric as the General Manager of GE Motors and Controls in the GE Consumer & Industrial business unit from 2000 to 2004. Mr. Gliebe earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science from Bowling Green State University, an MBA from Cleveland State University and has completed the Advance Management Program at Harvard Business School.

John Gremp

Mr. John T. Gremp is Independent Director of Joy Global Inc. He is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer for FMC Technologies, Inc. Mr. Gremp has served as Chief Executive Officer of FMC Technologies, Inc., manufacturer of drilling equipment since March 2011 and as Chairman since November 2011. Mr. Gremp previously served as President and Chief Operating Officer from April 2010 to February 2011 and as Executive Vice President of FMC Technologies’ Energy Systems business from January 2007 to March 2010. He served as Vice President of FMC Technologies’ Energy Production Systems business from 2004 to December 2006. Mr. Gremp previously served in a series of management positions of increasing responsibility after joining the company in 1975. He has served as a director of FMC Technologies, Inc. since 2011.

Gale Klappa

Mr. Gale E. Klappa is Independent Director of Joy Global Inc. He is Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Wisconsin Energy Corporation, a Milwaukee-based holding company with subsidiaries in utility and non-utility businesses since 2004. Mr. Klappa has 20 years of experience working at a senior executive level in the public utility industry, including service as the Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer of The Southern Company. In connection with his service to Wisconsin Energy Corporation, Mr. Klappa also serves as Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Wisconsin Energy’s public utility subsidiaries, Wisconsin Electric Power Company, which is an SEC reporting company, and Wisconsin Gas LLC. Since 2010, Mr. Klappa has also served as a director of Badger Meter, Inc., a publicly traded leader in the development and manufacture of flow management solutions.

P. Siegert

Mr. P. Eric Siegert is Independent Director of Joy Global Inc. He is Senior Managing Director of Houlihan Lokey Howard & Zukin, an international investment banking firm.

James Tate

Mr. James H. Tate is Independent Director of Joy Global Inc. He is an Independent consultant. From 2005 to 2006, Mr. Tate was Executive Vice President, Chief Administrative Officer, and Chief Financial Officer of TIMCO Aviation Services, Inc. Mr. Tate previously served as the Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Thermadyne Holdings Corporation from 1995 to 2004. Mr. Tate also served as co's acting Chief Financial Officer from March 4, 2008 to December 9, 2008. Mr. Tate’s career also includes 18 years as an accountant with Ernst & Young, LLP, including six years as an audit partner.
