Name Description

Jeffrey Mezger

Mr. Jeffrey T. Mezger is Chairman of the Board, President, Chief Executive Officer of KB Home, since August 17, 2016. has been our President and Chief Executive Officer, and a member of our Board of Directors, since 2006. In August, 2016, he was named Chairman of the Board. Under Mr. Mezger’s leadership, KB Home established itself as one of the most recognized brands in homebuilding. He has overseen the development of KB Home’s unique home buying experience, which emphasizes consumer choice and value. As a respected industry voice in sustainability, he launched a strategic transformation of KB Home that led to the introduction and continuous development of our energy-efficient and environmentally-conscious home designs, and helped reduce the environmental impact of our operations. Mr. Mezger previously held the position of Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of KB Home from 1999 to 2006. In this role, he led the development of our core KBnxt operational business model, and expanded and diversified KB Home’s U.S. homebuilding operations. A 40-year homebuilding industry veteran, Mr. Mezger joined KB Home in 1993 as President of the Company’s Antelope Valley, California division. He was later named President of the Company’s Arizona division and became Senior Vice President and Regional General Manager of the Company’s Southwest region. Prior to joining KB Home, he spent 15 years with U.S. Home, serving as President of the company’s Central California division from 1983 to 1993. Mr. Mezger is Founding Chairman of the Leading Builders of America, serves as Chairman of the policy advisory board of the Joint Center for Housing Studies at Harvard University, and is on the executive board of the USC Lusk Center for Real Estate and the policy advisory board of the Fisher Center for Real Estate & Urban Economics at the University of California, Berkeley. Mr. Mezger holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from DePauw University.

Mr. Jeff J. Kaminski is Chief Financial Officer, Executive Vice President of KB Home. From 2008 to 2010, Mr. Kaminski served as Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Strategy Board member, Federal-Mogul Corporation (a global supplier of component parts and systems to the automotive, heavy-duty, industrial and transport markets)

Brian Woram

Mr. Brian J. Woram is Executive Vice President, General Counsel of KB Home, since 2010. Previously, Mr. Woram served as Senior Vice President and Chief Legal Officer, H&R Block, Inc. (a provider of tax, banking and business and consulting services) He received his Bachelor of Business Science degree in mechanical engineering from Texas A&M University at College Station and his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Texas at Austin, where he served on the Texas Law Review.

Nicholas Franklin

Mr. NicholasFranklin is Executive Vice President - Strategic Operations of KB Home. Franklin brings a wealth of strategic insight, operations expertise and business acumen. Prior to joining KB Home, Franklin served as executive vice president, Walt Disney Parks & Resorts Worldwide, where he headed customer experience, innovation and new technology within the Parks and Resorts division. During his 18 year career at Disney, he held a range of leadership roles across the organization, in capacities including operations, real estate development, global business and corporate strategy. Franklin earned both an A.B. in Politics from Princeton University and an M.B.A. from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.

Albert Praw

Mr. Albert Z. Praw is Executive Vice President - Real Estate and Business Development of KB Home, since 2011. From 2006-2011, he was Chief Executive Officer, Landstone Communities, LLC (a real estate development company). Mr. Praw was employed by us from 1989-1992 and from 1994-2006. He was elected to his present position in October 2011.

Thomas Norton

Mr. Thomas F. Norton is Senior Vice President - Human Resources of KB Home, since 2009. From 2006-2009, Chief Human Resources Officer of BJ’s Restaurants, Inc. (an owner and operator of national full service restaurants). From 2003-2006, Senior Vice President of Human Resources, American Golf Corporation (a worldwide golf course management firm). Mr. Norton brings a balance of operational and human resources leadership experience to KB Home. Most recently, he was senior vice president and chief human resource officer for BJ's Restaurants, Inc., a Huntington Beach, California-based public restaurant company with 82 locations and more than 10,000 employees nationwide. There he served as a key advisor to the executive team on organizational development, culture, morale, and communication issues, in addition to establishing the company's first HR Strategic Plan. Previous to BJ's Restaurants, Inc., Mr. Norton spent more than 14 years with American Golf Corporation, where he played a number of important roles, most recently as senior vice president of human resources with responsibility for training and organizational development, employee and labor relations, staffing, compensation, benefits and policy development for 20,000 workers in 280 locations across 30 U.S. states, the U.K. and Australia. He joined American Golf on the operations side of the business, serving as a general manager and later as regional manager of the company's Northern California operations. Mr. Norton earned a BBA cum laude in Human Resource Management from the University of Notre Dame and an MBA with honors from the University of Southern California's Marshall School of Business.

Jill Peters

Ms. Jill Peters is Senior Vice President - Investor Relations of the Company. She served as vice president of investor relations at The Cheesecake Factory Incorporated, where she built and led the company's IR function for ten years. Peters earned a B.A. in Economics from the University of California at Los Angeles and an M.B.A. from the UCLA Anderson School of Management.

William Hollinger

Mr. William R. Hollinger is Senior Vice President, Chief Accounting Officer of KB Home, since 2007. He served as senior vice president and corporate controller from 2001-2006.

Melissa Lora

Ms. Melissa Lora is Lead Independent Director of KB Home. Since 2013, Melissa Lora has been the President of Taco Bell International, a segment of Taco Bell Corp., which is a division of Yum! Brands, Inc., responsible for the international operations of Taco Bell Corp. Ms. Lora joined Taco Bell in 1987, serving as its Chief Financial Officer from 2001 to 2012, and then as its Global Chief Financial and Development Officer from 2012 to 2014. Ms. Lora also was Regional Vice President and General Manager from 1998 to 2000 for Taco Bell Corp.’s operations throughout the Northeastern United States. Ms. Lora joined the Board in 2004, and was named Lead Independent Director in 2016.

Stuart Gabriel

Dr. Stuart A. Gabriel is Director of the company. is the director of the Richard S. Ziman Center for Real Estate at the University of California, Los Angeles, and Professor of Finance and Arden Realty Chair at the UCLA Anderson School of Management. Prior to joining UCLA in 2007, he was director and Lusk Chair in Real Estate at the USC Lusk Center for Real Estate, and was Professor of Finance and Business Economics at the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California. Dr. Gabriel previously served on the economics staff of the Federal Reserve Board in Washington, D.C., as a visiting scholar at the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, and as President of the American Real Estate and Urban Economics Association. Dr. Gabriel serves as a director of KBS Real Estate Investment Trust, Inc., KBS Real Estate Investment Trust II, Inc. and KBS Real Estate Investment Trust III, Inc., and is a consultant to corporate and governmental entities. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley.

Timothy Finchem

Mr. Timothy W. Finchem is Independent Director of KB Home. He has been Commissioner of the PGA TOUR, a membership organization for professional golfers, since 1994. He joined the TOUR staff as Vice President of Business Affairs in 1987, and was promoted to Deputy Commissioner and Chief Operating Officer in 1989. Mr. Finchem served in the White House as Deputy Advisor to the President in the Office of Economic Affairs in 1978 and 1979, and in the early 1980’s, co-founded the National Marketing and Strategies Group in Washington, D.C. He joined the Board in 2005. Mr. Finchem has demonstrated success in broadening the popularity of professional golf among the demographic groups that make up our core homebuyers, and has experience in residential community development. He also has a substantial presence in Florida, one of our key markets.

Thomas Gilligan

Dr. Thomas W. Gilligan, Ph.D., is Independent Director of KB Home. He is the Tad and Dianne Taube Director of the Hoover Institution on War, Revolution and Peace at Stanford University, a position he was appointed to in September 2015. The Hoover Institution is a public policy research center devoted to the advanced study of economics, politics, history, and political economy, as well as international affairs. From 2008 until his appointment at the Hoover Institution, Dr. Gilligan served as the Dean of the McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas at Austin. Prior to his appointment at the McCombs School of Business, Dr. Gilligan held several key administrative roles at the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California (USC), including as interim Dean, as the Vice-Dean of Undergraduate Education, as director of the Ph.D. program, and as the Chair of the Finance and Business Economics Department. He is a director of Southwest Airlines Co., and has served as a consultant to businesses in the entertainment, agriculture, service and construction industries, dealing with antitrust and contract issues, as well as pricing strategies. He joined the Board in 2012. Dr. Gilligan has deep knowledge of and significant academic credentials in the fields of finance, economics and business administration, and brings extensive leadership skills and experience from his many years of service as a dean at two of the premier post-graduate business schools in the country. In addition, he is well-known and highly regarded, professionally and personally, in both Texas and California, which are key markets for us.

Kenneth Jastrow

Mr. Kenneth M. Jastrow, II, is Independent Director of KB Home. He has been since 2009 the lead director of MGIC Investment Corporation, a provider of private mortgage insurance, and also serves as a director of Genesis Energy, LLC, the general partner of Genesis Energy, L.P., a publicly traded master limited partnership. He joined the KB Home Board in 2001. Mr. Jastrow previously served as the Non-Executive Chairman of Forestar Group Inc., a real estate and natural resources company, from December 2007 to September 2015 and as a director until December 2015. Mr. Jastrow has several years of experience and leadership in the paper, building products, forestry, real estate and mortgage lending industries, providing critical perspective in businesses that impact the homebuilding industry, and on sustainability practices.

Robert Johnson

Mr. Robert L. Johnson is Independent Director of KB Home. He is Founder and Chairman of The RLJ Companies, an innovative business network that owns or holds interests in a diverse portfolio of companies in the consumer financial services, private equity, real estate, hospitality, professional sports, film production, gaming, and automobile dealership industries. Prior to forming The RLJ Companies, Mr. Johnson was founder and chief executive officer of Black Entertainment Television (BET), which was acquired by Viacom Inc. in 2001. He continued to serve as chief executive officer of BET until 2006. In July 2007, Mr. Johnson was named by USA Today as one of the 25 most influential business leaders of the past 25 years. Mr. Johnson currently serves on the board of directors or trustees of the Lowe’s Companies, Inc., RLJ Entertainment, Inc., RLJ Lodging Trust, and Strayer Education, Inc. He previously served as a director of RLJ Acquisition, Inc. He joined the Board in 2008. Mr. Johnson has significant experience in real estate, finance, mortgage banking and brand-building enterprises and a unique and diverse background in a number of industry sectors.

Robert Patton

Mr. Robert Patton, Jr., is Independent Director of KB Home. Mr. Patton has been a partner of Guggenheim Baseball Management since 2012. He became part owner of the Los Angeles Dodgers on May 1, 2012. Mr. Patton principally operates oil and gas properties in Texas and Kansas and has additional investments in many other sectors, including ranching and insurance. He serves on the board of Security Benefit Corporation and the Advisory Council of the University of Texas, College of Liberal Arts. Mr. Patton received a B.B.A. from the University of Texas as well as a J.D. from St. Mary’s University and LLM from Southern Methodist University. Mr. Patton has several years of experience in a wide range of industries as well as in real estate development, providing significant expertise and insight on investment management, financial planning, operational execution and regulatory compliance.

Michael Wood

Mr. Michael M. Wood is an Independent Director of KB Home. He is Founder and Chairman of Redwood Investments LLC, a Washington, DC investment company established in 2005 and concentrating in media, real estate and alternative energy. From 2006-2009, Mr. Wood was the U.S. Ambassador to Sweden where he made cooperation between the U.S. and Sweden in alternative energy technology his top priority. In recognition for this work, in 2009, the King of Sweden bestowed on Mr. Wood the insignia of Commander Grand Cross, Order of the Polar Star, a medal given by Sweden’s Royal Family to people of foreign birth who make significant contributions to Sweden. Prior to becoming ambassador, Mr. Wood was co-founder and CEO of Hanley Wood LLC, the leading media company in the construction industry and one of the ten largest business-to-business media companies in the U.S. Mr. Wood is also Chairman of CSP Business Media, LLC, a private business-to-business publishing company serving the convenience retailing, restaurant, and on-the-go food industries, and serves on the Board of Trustees for The American-Scandinavian Foundation in New York and the Board of Directors of Capital Partners for Education in Washington, DC. He joined the Board in 2014. Mr. Wood has extensive knowledge of the homebuilding industry and significant experience in real estate and alternative energy investing, providing substantial insight and expertise with respect to our business operations and longstanding commitment to sustainability. He is also a prominent and respected professional in Washington DC, an important market for us, and has a distinguished policymaking background.
