Carlos Cardoso |
Mr. Carlos M. Cardoso is Chairman of the Board, President and Chief Executive Officer of Kennametal Inc. Mr. Cardoso has served as the Chairman of Kennametal since January 2008. He has also been President and Chief Executive Officer since January 2006. Previously, Mr. Cardoso served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer from January 2005 to December 2005; and Vice President and President, Metalworking Solutions and Services Group, from April 2003 to December 2004. Before joining Kennametal, Mr. Cardoso served as President of the Pump Division of Flowserve Corporation (a manufacturer / provider of flow management products and services) from August 2001 to March 2003. Prior to that, he spent six years with Honeywell International, Inc., from March 1999 to August 2001. Prior to Honeywell / Allied Signal, Mr. Cardoso was Vice President Manufacturing Operations for Colt’s Manufacturing Company LLC (a maker of firearms) where he served as a key member of the Executive Team. Early in his career, he also owned and operated a machine shop. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Stanley Black & Decker, Inc. (a diversified global provider of hand tools, power tools and related accessories) and the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) Board of Directors. He is Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Manufacturers Alliance for Productivity and Innovation (MAPI), a business and research and executive education organization. Additionally, he is the co-chair of the Pennsylvania Governor’s Manufacturing Council, a Team Pennsylvania Foundation-led initiative, helping to identify and prioritize top issues to influence, sustain and advance manufacturing in the commonwealth. Mr. Cardoso holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Fairfield University in Fairfield, Connecticut, and a master’s degree in management from the Hartford Graduate Center. |

From October 1993 through December 2006, Mr. DeFeo was also the President and Chief Operating Officer of Terex. He joined Terex in 1992 as the President of the Heavy Equipment Group and later assumed responsibility for Terex’s former Clark Material Handling Company subsidiary.
