Name Description
Haverty, Michael Michael R. Haverty has been Chief Executive Officer since July 12, 2000, director since May 1995 and Chairman of the Board of Kansas City Southern since January 1, 2001. Mr. Haverty served as President of KCS from July 12, 2000 to June 12, 2006. Mr. Haverty served as Executive Vice President of KCS from May 1995 until July 12, 2000. He served as President and Chief Executive Officer of The Kansas City Southern Railway Company (“KCSR”) from 1995 to 2005 and has been a director of KCSR since 1995. He has served as Chairman of the Board of KCSR since 1999. Mr. Haverty has served as a director of the Panama Canal Railway Company, an affiliate of KCS, since 1996 and as Co-Chairman of the Board of Directors of that company since 1999. Mr. Haverty has served as Co-Chairman of Panarail Tourism Company, an affiliate of KCS, since 2000. He has served as Chairman of the Board of Kansas City Southern de México, S.A. de C.V. (“KCSM”), a subsidiary of KCS, since April 1, 2005. Mr. Haverty served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Haverty Corporation from 1993 to May 1995, acted as an independent executive transportation advisor from 1991 to 1993, and was President and Chief Operating Officer of The Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway Company from 1989 to 1991.
Starling, David David L. Starling is President, Chief Operating Officer of Kansas City Southern since July 1, 2008. Prior to joining KCS, Mr. Starling served as President and Director General of Panama Canal Railway Company (“PCRC”), a joint venture company owned equally by KCS and Mi-Jack Products, Inc., from 1999 through June 2008. From 1988 through 1999, Mr. Starling served in various leadership positions for American President Lines including most recently vice president Central Asia responsible for China, Taiwan.
Upchurch, Michael Michael W. Upchurch is Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President of Kansas City Southern since October 16, 2008. Mr. Upchurch joined The Kansas City Southern Railway Company in March 2008 as Senior Vice President Purchasing and Financial Management. Prior to joining KCS, Mr. Upchurch served as Senior Vice President Finance of Red Development LLC, from December 2007 through February 2008. Ottensmeyer, Patrick Patrick J. Ottensmeyer is Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing of Kansas City Southern since October 16, 2008. Mr. Ottensmeyer joined KCS in May 2006 as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Prior to joining KCS, Mr. Ottensmeyer served as Chief Financial Officer of Intranasal Therapeutics, Inc. from 2001 to May 2006. Erdman, Warren Warren K. Erdman is Executive Vice President - Corporate Affairs of Kansas City Southern since October 2007. He served as Senior Vice President-Corporate Affairs of KCS and KCSR from January 2006 to September 2007. Mr. Erdman served as Vice President — Corporate Affairs of KCS from April 15, 1997 to December 31, 2005 and as Vice President — Corporate Affairs of KCSR from May 1997 to December 31, 2005. Lawrence, Larry Larry M. Lawrence is Executive Vice President and Assistant to the Chairman of Kansas City Southern since October 2007. Mr. Lawrence served as Senior Vice President and Assistant to Chairman-Strategies and Staff Studies of KCS from January 2006 to September 2007. Mr. Lawrence served as Assistant to CEO-Staff Studies and Planning of KCS from November 2001 until December 2005. Prior to joining KCS in 2001, Mr. Lawrence was a strategy consultant for 15 years with McKinsey, A. T. Kearney and KPMG.
Weyandt, Paul Paul J. Weyandt serves as Senior Vice President - Finance and Treasurer of Kansas City Southern since April 2005. He served as Vice President and Treasurer of KCS and of KCSR from September 2001 until March 2005. Before joining KCS, Mr. Weyandt was a consultant to the Structured Finance Group of GE Capital Corporation from May 2001 to September 2001. Prior to consulting, Mr. Weyandt spent 23 years with BNSF Railway, most recently as Assistant Vice President Finance and Assistant Treasurer.
Stadler, Mary Ms. Mary Stadler is Senior Vice President, Chief Accounting Officer of Kansas City Southern. Ms. Stadler joins KCS from Sprint, where she spent 18 years with progressive responsibility, most recently as vice president and assistant controller. She has also served as vice president and assistant controller for Franklin Savings Association and accountant and audit manager for Deloitte. She is a certified public accountant and holds a bachelor of science in business administration and accounting from the University of Kansas.
Derry, John John E. Derry is Senior Vice President of Human Resources of Kansas City Southern since July 2008. He served as Vice President of Human Resources from February 2008 until July 2008. Mr. Derry joined KCS from YRC Worldwide, Inc. where he served in various Human Resource functions from January 2004 to February 2008. From September 2006 to February 2008, Mr. Derry served as Vice President of Human Resources for Yellow Transportation. Prior to joining YRC Worldwide, Inc. Mr. Derry spent 17 years with General Mills Inc in various Operations, Labor Relations and Human Resource roles.
Wochner, William William J. Wochner serves as Senior Vice President and Chief Legal Officer of Kansas City Southern since February 2007. He served as Vice President and Interim General Counsel from December 2006 to January 2007. From September 2006 to December 2006, Mr. Wochner served as Vice President and Associate General Counsel. From March 2005 to September 2006, Mr. Wochner served as Vice President, Sales and Marketing/Contracts for KCSR. From February 1993 to March 2005, Mr. Wochner served as Vice President and General Solicitor of KCSR.
Jones, James Robert James R. Jones has been a director of Kansas City Southern since November 1997. Ambassador Jones is also a director of KCSM. He has been Senior Counsel to the law firm of Manatt, Phelps & Phillips since March 1, 1999. Ambassador Jones is also Co-Chairman of Manatt Jones Global Strategies and Chairman of Globe Ranger Corp. Ambassador Jones was President of the International Division of Warnaco Inc. from 1997 through 1998, U.S. Ambassador to Mexico from 1993 through 1997, and Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the American Stock Exchange from 1989 through 1993. Ambassador Jones served as a member of the U.S. Congress representing Oklahoma for 14 years. He was White House Special Assistant and Appointments Secretary to President Lyndon Johnson. Slater, Rodney Rodney E. Slater has been a director of Kansas City Southern since June 5, 2001. Mr. Slater is a partner in the public policy practice group of the law firm Patton Boggs LLP and has served as a member of the firm’s transportation practice group in Washington, D.C. since 2001. He served as U.S. Secretary of Transportation from 1997 to January 2001 and head of the Federal Highway Administration from 1993 to 1996. Mr. Slater is also a director of Southern Development Bancorporation, Northwest Airlines (observer) and ICX Technologies, and a member of the Transurban U.S. Advisory Board. McDonnell, Thomas Thomas A. McDonnell has been a director of Kansas City Southern since March 18, 2003. Mr. McDonnell has served as a director of DST Systems, Inc. (“DST”) since 1971, as Chief Executive Officer of DST since 1984, and as President of DST since 1973 (except for a 30-month period from October 1984 to April 1987). DST provides sophisticated information processing, computer software services and business solutions to the financial services, communications and healthcare industries. He is a director of Blue Valley Ban Corp., Commerce Bancshares, Inc., Euronet Worldwide, Inc. and Garmin Ltd. and serves on the audit committees of each of these public companies, with the exception of Blue Valley Ban Corp. Druten, Robert Robert J. Druten has been a director of Kansas City Southern since July 26, 2004. Mr. Druten served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Hallmark Cards, Inc. from 1994 until his retirement in August 2006. From 1991 until 1994, he served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Crown Media, Inc., a cable communications subsidiary of Hallmark. He served as Vice President of Corporate Development and Planning of Hallmark from 1989 until 1991. Prior to joining Hallmark in 1986, Mr. Druten held a variety of executive positions with Pioneer Western Corporation from 1983 to 1986. Mr. Druten is a trustee and Chairman of the Board of Entertainment Properties Trust, a real estate investment trust, and a director of Alliance Holdings GP, L.P., a publicly traded limited partnership whose publicly traded subsidiary is engaged in the production and marketing of coal, and American Italian Pasta Company, a publicly traded company that is the largest producer of dry pasta in the United States.
Davis Signoret, Henry Henry R. Davis has been a director of Kansas City Southern since February 28, 2008. Since 1998, Mr. Davis has served as President of the investment firm Promotora DAC, S.A. de C.V., which focuses its investments in the financial and real estate sectors. Mr. Davis served as President, Chief Executive Officer and Vice Chairman of the Board of Grupo Cifra from 1983, until its acquisition by Wal-Mart de México in 1998. Mr. Davis is a director of Grupo Bimbo, S.A.B. de C.V., Ixe Grupo Financiero S.A. de C.V. and Grupo Aeroportuario de Pacífico S.A.B. de C.V.
