John Malone |
Mr. John C. Malone is Chairman of the Board of Liberty Interactive Corp., since 1994. Mr. Malone has served as a director of the company, including its predecessors, since its inception in 1994 and served as the company’s Chief Executive Officer from August 2005 to February 2006. Mr. Malone served as Chairman of the Board of Tele-Communications, Inc. (TCI), a cable television company that was the former parent company, from November 1996 until March 1999, when it was acquired by AT&T Corp. (AT&T), and as Chief Executive Officer of TCI from January 1994 to March 1997. Mr. Malone has served as a director of Liberty Media Corporation (Liberty Media) since December 2010, Chairman of the Board of Liberty Media since August 2011 and Chairman of the Board of Liberty Global, Inc. (LGI) since June 2005. Previously, he served as Chairman of the Board of LGI’s predecessor, Liberty Media International, Inc. (LMI), from March 2004 to June 2005, as Chairman of the Board of DIRECTV from November 2009 to June 2010 and as Chairman of the Board of DIRECTV’s predecessor, The DIRECTV Group, Inc. (DTVG), from February 2008 to November 2009. He has served as a director of Discovery Communications, Inc. (Discovery) since September 2008 and served as Chairman of the Board of its predecessor, Discovery Holding Company (DHC), from March 2005 to September 2008, and as a director of DHC from May 2005 to September 2008.
