Name Description

David Leith

Mr. David G. Leith is Independent Chairman of the Board of Manitoba Telecom Services Inc. In addition, Mr. Leith is a Director of Yellow Media Inc., a Director of Hudson’s Bay Company, and a Director of the Ontario Infrastructure and lands Corporation. He is active in a number of charitable endeavours and is the Chair of Bridgepoint Health Foundation. Mr. Leith has over 25 years of equity, debt, government finance and mergers and acquisitions experience with CIBC World Markets and its predecessors. Until February 2009, Mr. Leith was Deputy Chairman of CIBC World Markets and Managing Director and Head of CIBC World Markets’ Investment, Corporate and Merchant Banking activities. Mr. Leith has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Toronto and a Masters of Arts from Cambridge University.

Jay Forbes

Jay A. Forbes is Chief Executive Officer, Director of Manitoba Telecom Services Inc. Mr. Forbes brings a unique set of telecom and technology industry experience to MTS Allstream. Most recently, as President & Chief Executive Officer of Teranet, a world-leading developer, operator and owner of electronic land registration systems, Jay led the design and successful execution of an international B2G growth strategy. Previously, as President of Ingram Micro (Europe, Middle East and Africa), Jay led the restructuring of an $11 billion, 15 country electronics distribution business to improve profitability at the onset of the economic recession. Jay also brings extensive Canadian telecommunications expertise gained while President & Chief Executive Officer of Aliant, where he repositioned a holding company with more than 10,000 employees into the second-largest regional local exchange carrier in North America, delivering $2 billion in value to the shareholders.

N. Ashleigh Everett

Ms. N. Ashleigh Everett is Independent Director of Manitoba Telecom Services Inc. Ms. Everett is President and Corporate Secretary of Royal Canadian Securities Limited, the holding company of (a) Royal Canadian Properties Limited, a property development company for which she also serves as Chair, (b) Domo Gasoline Corporation, which operates gas stations in western Canada and (c) L’Eau-1 Inc., a water purification company. Ms. Everett is a Director of Scotiabank, where she is the Chair of the Corporate Governance Committee and a member of the Executive and Risk Committee. She is also a member of the World Presidents Organization. Ms. Everett received her Bachelor of Arts from Queen’s University and her Masters of Business Administration from the Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario.

Barbara Fraser

Ms. Barbara H. Fraser is Independent Director of Manitoba Telecom Services Inc. Ms. Fraser has extensive Board experience and continues to serve on the Boards of Ivey School of Business, Gerber Life Insurance Company, MD Life Insurance Company, and Economical Insurance Group. She has been honoured as Ivey Board Member Emeritus for her distinguished service and inducted into the Academy of Women Achievers, YWCA of the City of New York. Ms. Fraser invested the first twenty-four years of her career at Procter & Gamble, where she was the fastest rising woman in the marketing ranks, and ultimately, ran both the Paper and Beauty Care Products businesses in Canada as General Manager. She has held a number of executive positions including as Chairman & CEO of Citicorp Investment Services and Citicorp Insurance Group and as Chairman & CEO of IDS Life Insurance Company.

Judi Hand

Ms. Judith A. Hand is Independent Director of Manitoba Telecom Services Inc. Ms. Hand is the President and General Manager of Revana, a wholly-owned subsidiary of TeleTech Holdings, Inc., a position she has held since 2007. She has more than 20 years' experience in sales, service, and marketing to business and consumer customers at all levels. Her previous executive experience includes Senior Vice President of Enterprise Sales with AT&T, Vice President of AT&T Business Services for small and mid-sized markets, Senior Vice President of Sales and Customer Care at Qwest for small business and consumer markets, Chief Marketing Officer for US WEST Dex and Executive Director of Solutions Marketing and Director of Market Strategy Development for US WEST. Ms. Hand has an MBA from Stanford University and a BSBA in communications and marketing from the University of Nebraska.

Gregory Hanson

Mr. Gregory J. Hanson is Independent Director of Manitoba Telecom Services Inc. He is a Corporate Director. From November 1992 to May 2007, Mr. Hanson was President and Chief Executive Officer of The Wawanesa Mutual Insurance Company. Mr. Hanson is a Director of each of The Wawanesa Mutual Insurance Company, The Wawanesa Life Insurance Company, Wawanesa General Insurance Company and James Richardson & Sons Limited. He is also involved with a number of charitable organizations. Mr. Hanson has a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Manitoba and is a Chartered Accountant. He obtained Fellowship in both the Life Management Institute (FLMI) and the Insurance Institute of Canada (FIIC) and completed one month Advanced Executive Education Program at Wharton Business School, University of Pennsylvania.

Kishore Kapoor

Mr. Kishore Kapoor is Independent Director of Manitoba Telecom Services Inc. Until 2011, Mr. Kapoor was President of Wellington West Holdings Inc. From November 2003 to June 2005, Mr. Kapoor was Executive Vice-President Corporate Development of Loring Ward International Ltd., a public company formed to hold the U.S. operations of Assante Corporation, a company which provides wealth and asset management services. As one of the founders of Assante Corporation, Mr. Kapoor was its Executive Vice-President Corporate Development from March 1994 to November 2003. Mr. Kapoor has a Bachelor of Science from the University of Manitoba and is a Chartered Accountant and former tax partner with KPMG LLP.

Hugh Riley

Mr. H. Sanford Riley is Independent Director of Manitoba Telecom Services Inc. He is President and Chief Executive Officer of Richardson Financial Group, Ltd., a specialized financial services company. Between 1992 and 2001, he served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Investors Group Inc., a personal financial services organization, retiring as Chairman in 2002. Mr. Riley is the Chairman of The North West Company, and is also a Director of Molson Coors Brewing Company, GMP Capital, Canadian Western Bank, and The Canada West Foundation. Mr. Riley serves as Chairman of the University of Winnipeg Foundation, is a past Chancellor of the University of Winnipeg and past Chairman of the Manitoba Business Council. Mr. Riley obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Queen’s University and a law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School. Mr. Riley was also appointed a Member of the Order of Canada in 2002.

D. Samuel Schellenberg

Mr. D. Samuel Schellenberg is Independent Director of Manitoba Telecom Services Inc. He is a Corporate Director. Mr. Schellenberg has many years of experience in business as Chief Executive Officer of Pembina Valley Water Cooperative Inc. up until his retirement in 2010. He also has operated independent businesses, and served in an advisory role to the Government of Manitoba. Mr. Schellenberg has a variety of board experience and is a Director of the International Water Institute and Parkinson Society Manitoba. He has served as a Director of the Red River Basin Commission, Red River Trade Inc. and the International Flood Mitigation Initiative, as well as a number of non-profit organizations, including the Pembina River Advisory Board and Pembina Valley Adult Education. Mr. Schellenberg has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Manitoba.

Carol Stephenson

Ms. Carol M. Stephenson is Independent Director of Manitoba Telecom Services Inc., since May 2008. Until September 2013, she was the Dean of the Ivey Business School at Western University, a position she held since July 2003. She has worked for more than 30 years in the telecommunications and technology industries, most recently as President and Chief Executive Officer of Lucent Technologies Canada from July 1999 to February 2003. Ms. Stephenson serves as a Director of Intact Financial Services Inc. where she is the Chair of the Human Resources and Compensation Committee and sits on the Conduct Review and Corporate Governance Committee. She serves as a Director of Ballard Power Systems where she is the Chair of the Corporate Governance and Compensation Committee. Ms. Stephenson also serves as a Director at General Motors Company, where she sits on the Executive Compensation Committee and the Directors and Corporate Governance Committee. She was also appointed an Officer of the Order of Canada in December 2009. Ms. Stephenson was the 2010 Chair of the United Way Campaign for London & Middlesex, Ontario. Ms. Stephenson is a graduate of the University of Toronto. She has also completed the Executive Program at the Graduate School of Business Administration, University of California, and the Advanced Management Program at Harvard University. In 2000, she was awarded an honorary doctorate in engineering from Ryerson Polytechnic University.
