J. Stewart Bryan |
Mr. J. Stewart Bryan III is Independent Non-Executive Chairman of the Board of Media General Inc. He retired as an employee of the Company in 2008 and was the Company’s Chief Executive Officer from 1990 until July 2005, President from 1990 to 2001 and between 1985 and 1990, variously served as Vice Chairman of the Board, Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President of the Company. He was the Publisher of the Richmond Times-Dispatch from 1978 to 2005. |
George Mahoney |
Mr. George L. Mahoney is President, Chief Executive Officer, Director of Media General, Inc. Prior to joining Media General, Mr. Mahoney was assistant general counsel for Dow Jones & Company from 1982-1993. He worked in New York City for the law firm Satterlee & Stephens from 1978-1982, specializing in First Amendment and intellectual property matters. He holds B.A. and J.D. degrees from the University of Virginia. Mr. Mahoney has been active with a number of community organizations. He currently serves on the board of the Greater Richmond Chamber of Commerce and the Richmond Symphony and is a former board chair of St. Christopher's School. Other civic activities include Leadership Metro Richmond-Class of 2002 and serving as a past trustee of the Valentine Richmond History Center. |

Mr. James R. Conschafter is Vice President - Broadcast Markets of Media General Inc. Previously, he had served in that role for the company’s North Carolina market since July 2009. Prior to that, he had been senior vice president-broadcast stations, within the company’s former broadcast division, since 2004. Mr. Conschafter joined Media General in 2000 with the company’s acquisition of Spartan Communications, where he had served as general manager. He began at Media General as vice president and general manager of WSPA and two stations that are no longer owned by Media General. Mr. Marshall N. Morton is Director of Media General Inc. Prior to that, he had served as Media General's chief financial officer since August 1989 when he joined the company as senior vice president. He became vice chairman and chief financial officer in July 2001. Mr. Morton was elected to Media General's Board of Directors in 1997 and serves on its executive committee. Prior to joining Media General, he held a number of financial positions with West Point Pepperell, including corporate vice president and controller. Raised in Charlottesville, Va., and a U.S. Navy veteran, he earned B.A. and M.B.A. degrees from the University of Virginia. Mr. Morton is active in community and civic affairs. He serves on the boards of the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts Foundation, the Science Museum of Virginia Foundation, the Darden School Foundation at the University of Virginia, the Virginia Foundation for Independent Colleges, and the Richmond Metro American Heart Association. He is a past president of the Heart of Virginia Council-Boy Scouts of America, the Virginia Commonwealth University Foundation, Maymont Foundation and the Richmond Metropolitan Business Foundation. Prior community service includes the Greater Richmond Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, the VCU School of Business Advisory Board and the Board of Governors of St. Catherine's School. |
Diana Cantor |
Mrs. Diana F. Cantor is Independent Director of Media General Inc., since April 2005. Mrs. Cantor is a Partner with Alternative Investment Management, LLC, an independent, privately held investment management firm; and she is the Chairman of the Virginia Retirement System, where she additionally is a member of the Audit and Compliance Committee and is responsible for the agency’s annual audit and budget. From 2008-2009, she was a Managing Director of New York Private Bank & Trust, the wealth management division of Emigrant Bank, where she managed wealth management professionals providing a full range of financial, trust, estate, tax planning and investment management services. From 1996 to 2007, she served as the Founder and Executive Director of the Virginia College Savings Plan, an independent agency of the Commonwealth of Virginia, and in that capacity, she actively supervised the preparation of that agency’s financial statements and worked closely with the agency’s independent auditors. She was Vice President of Richmond Resources, Ltd., a real estate development, construction and management company from 1990 to 1996; and she held several positions, including Vice President, at Goldman, Sachs & Co. between 1985 and 1990. She previously was an associate at Kaye, Scholer, Fierman, Hays & Handler, a New York law firm, from 1983 to 1985. Mrs. Cantor is also a Director of Domino’s Pizza, Inc., where she is the Chairman of that Board’s Audit Committee. |

Mr. Dennis J. FitzSimons is Independent Director of Media General Inc. Mr. FitzSimons is the Chairman of McCormick Foundation, a charitable trust based in Chicago. From 2003 until December 2007, he was the Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Tribune Company, one of the media companies in the nation. Mr. FitzSimons resigned from Tribune Company in December 2007 upon the sale of the company. In December 2008, the company declared bankruptcy. Mr. FitzSimons also was the Chairman of Tribune Company from 2004 until 2007, had served as that company’s Chief Operating Officer and before that rose through the ranks of Tribune’s Broadcast Division, managing that company’s broadcasting, publishing and interactive groups. |
Wyndham Robertson |
Ms. Wyndham Robertson has been re-appointed as Independent Director of Media General, Inc., on September 20, 2012. She has served as a director of three other public companies: Capital Cities/ABC, Inc., The Equitable Companies Inc. and Wachovia Corporation. From 1986-1995 she was vice president for communications at the University of North Carolina. Prior to that, she spent 25 years at Fortune Magazine, specializing in investment, financial and technology topics. She graduated from Hollins University and served on its Board of Trustees for more than 30 years, including a term as chair. The Wyndham Robertson Library at Hollins is named in her honor. Miss Robertson currently serves on a number of non-profit boards, including as a member of the investment committee for Hollins. She is a director of the Blanche and Julian Robertson Family Foundation and a trustee of The Robertson Foundation. |
