Bryan, J. Stewart Mr. Bryan is a Non-Executive Chairman of the Board of Media General, Inc. He served as Chairman of the Board and has served in that capacity for more than five years. He retired as an employee of the Company in 2008 and was the Company’s Chief Executive Officer from 1990 until July 2005, President from 1990 to 2001 and, between 1985 and 1990, variously served as Vice Chairman of the Board, Chief Operating Officer, and Executive Vice President of the Company. He was the Publisher of the Richmond Times-Dispatch from 1978 to 2005.
Morton, Marshall Marshall N. Morton has been President, Chief Executive Officer, Director of Media General, Inc. Mr. Morton is President and Chief Executive Officer of the Company and has served in those capacities since July 2005. He was the Company’s Chief Financial Officer from 1989 until July 2005, its Senior Vice President from 1989 to 2001 and Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors from 2001 to July 2005.

Rankin, Thompson Thompson L. Rankin is a Director of Media General, Inc. He retired in 1997 as President and Chief Executive Officer of Lykes Bros. Inc., having served in that position for more than five years. He also is the former Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Lykes Energy, Inc., and served in that position for more than five years. He previously served on the Board of Directors of the Company from 1985 to 1994. Mr. Rankin also serves as a director of TECO Energy, Inc.
Williams, Walter Dr. Williams is re appointed as Director of Media General, Inc. on June 25, 2008. He is the John M. Olin Distinguished Professor of Economics on the faculty of George Mason University, Fairfax, Virginia, where he has served since 1980 and was the Chairman of the Economics Department from 1995 to 2001. He also is the author of over 150 publications, a nationally syndicated columnist and frequent television and radio commentator. Dr. Williams previously served as a director of the Company from 2001 until the Company’s annual meeting in April 2008.

Cantor, Diana Diana F. Cantor is a Director of Media General, Inc. She is the Executive Director of the Virginia College Savings Plan, an independent agency of the Commonwealth of Virginia, and has served in that position for more than five years. She was Vice President of Richmond Resources, Ltd., a real estate development, construction and management company from 1990 to 1996, and she held several positions, including Vice President, at Goldman, Sachs & Co. between 1985 and 1990. Smolla, Rodney Mr. Smolla is re appointed as Director of Media General, Inc. on June 25, 2008. He is the Dean of the Washington and Lee University School of Law. From 2003 to July 2007, he was the Dean of the University of Richmond’s T.C. Williams School of Law and for more than five years served as the George E. Allen Professor of Law at T.C. Williams School of Law. He is a nationally recognized expert on constitutional law, the First Amendment, mass media and entertainment law. Mr. Smolla previously served as a director of the Company until the Company’s annual meeting held in April 2008.
Anthony, Scott Mr. Scott D. Anthony is Director of Media General, Inc. Mr. Anthony is president of Innosight LLC, a consulting firm specializing in strategies for growth through innovation, and he is well known in the media industry. In 2005-2006, he spearheaded a project with the American Press Institute to help the newspaper industry address the challenges of transformation spurred by technology and changing customer preferences. He helped create the Newspaper Next process for researching and testing viable new business models.
FitzSimons, Dennis Mr. Dennis J. FitzSimons is Director of Media General Inc. Mr. FitzSimons stepped down as Chairman, CEO and President of Tribune Company in December 2007 on completing the sale of the company to an Employee Stock Ownership Plan and Sam Zell. The transaction brought to a close a 25-year career at the company. Mr. FitzSimons' first 17 years were spent in the Broadcast Division where he rose through the ranks of the television group. He was appointed Tribune Executive Vice President in January 2000, with responsibility for the company's broadcasting, publishing and interactive groups. He was elected to Tribune's Board of Directors in 2000 and named President and Chief Operating Officer of Tribune in July 2001. Mr. FitzSimons was named CEO in January 2003 and became Chairman a year later. Mr. FitzSimons currently serves as Chairman and Director of the Robert R. McCormick Foundation, one of the largest charitable trusts in the U.S. He is a Trustee of Northwestern University, the Museum of Science and Industry, the United Way of Metropolitan Chicago, and he is active with several other business and civic organizations on the local and national levels.
