Name Description

J. Stewart Bryan

Mr. J. Stewart Bryan III, is anIndependent Non-Executive Chairman of the Board of Media General, Inc. He retired as an employee of the Company in 2008 and was the Company’s Chief Executive Officer from 1990 until July 2005, President from 1990 to 2001 and between 1985 and 1990, variously served as Vice Chairman of the Board, Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President of the Company. He was the Publisher of the Richmond Times-Dispatch from 1978 to 2005.

George Mahoney

Mr. George L. Mahoney is President, Chief Executive Officer, Director of Media General, Inc. Prior to joining Media General, Mr. Mahoney was assistant general counsel for Dow Jones & Company from 1982-1993. He worked in New York City for the law firm Satterlee & Stephens from 1978-1982, specializing in First Amendment and intellectual property matters. He holds B.A. and J.D. degrees from the University of Virginia. Mr. Mahoney has been active with a number of community organizations. He currently serves on the board of the Greater Richmond Chamber of Commerce and the Richmond Symphony and is a former board chair of St. Christopher's School. Other civic activities include Leadership Metro Richmond-Class of 2002 and serving as a past trustee of the Valentine Richmond History Center.

James Woodward

Mr. James F. Woodward is Chief Financial Officer, Senior Vice President of Media General, Inc. Mr. Woodward served as group vice president for Media General's former growth and performance group from 2009-2011. Before that, he was director of corporate human resources from 1999-2009. He was elected a corporate vice president in 2005. During his 30 years with Media General, he has served as staff accountant, audit manager, assistant controller of Richmond Newspapers, and manager of human resources systems for the finance department. Mr. Woodward received a B.S. degree in accounting from James Madison University. He is a graduate of the Leadership Metro Richmond Class of 2009, a foundation board member of J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College and president of the St. Thomas Church Endowment Fund.

Timothy Mulvaney

Mr. Timothy J. Mulvaney, CPA, is Chief Accounting Officer, Controller of Media General, Inc. He has been appointed as Chief Accounting Officer effective January 1, 2012. He was assistant Controller since 2005. He joined the company in 1997 as manager of financial reporting and was promoted in 1999 to director of accounting and financial reporting. He began his career as an auditor for Ernst & Young LLP in 1991 and was promoted to audit manager in 1996. He holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from The College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, Va., and is a Virginia CPA. He is a current member and past president of the Virginia Chapter of Financial Executives International. Mr. Mulvaney is a 2005 graduate of Media General's Leadership Development Program.

Mr. James R. Conschafter is no longer Vice President - Broadcast Markets of Media General, Inc., effective December 31, 2014. Previously, he had served in that role for the company’s North Carolina market since July 2009. Prior to that, he had been senior vice president-broadcast stations, within the company’s former broadcast division, since 2004. Mr. Conschafter joined Media General in 2000 with the company’s acquisition of Spartan Communications, where he had served as general manager. He began at Media General as vice president and general manager of WSPA and two stations that are no longer owned by Media General. Earlier in his career, he held management and sales leadership positions at network-affiliated television stations in North Carolina, New York, Missouri and Ohio. Mr. Conschafter is a graduate of the Newhouse School of Communications at Syracuse University.

John Cottingham

Mr. John R. Cottingham is no longer Vice President - Broadcast Markets of Media General, Inc., effective November 30, 2014. Earlier this year, he assumed additional responsibility for the company’s Florida market. Prior to assuming his current role, Mr. Cottingham had been senior vice president-broadcast stations, within the company’s former broadcast division, since 2005. He joined Media General in 2001 as vice president and general manager of three stations, including WSPA in Spartanburg, S.C. Earlier in his career, he held management and sales leadership positions at a number of broadcast stations in North Carolina, Ohio and Indiana. Mr. Cottingham attended Belmont Abbey College.

John Butler

Mr. John A. Butler is Treasurer of Media General, Inc. He joined Media General in 2003 as director of treasury management. He began his career in 1982 with Occidental Petroleum Corporation and later held finance positions at Nissan Motor Corporation and US Airways. Immediately prior to joining Media General, he was vice president and treasurer at SITEL Corp. He holds a bachelor's degree in finance from Southern Methodist University and Masters of Business Administration from Tulane University.

Howard Schrott

Mr. Howard L. Schrott is Lead Independent Director of Media General, Inc. He is a Principal in Schrott Consulting, a management consulting firm servicing broadcasting, telecommunications and technology companies. He was a Director of Young from 2012 until its merger with the Company in November 2013 and served as the Chairman of Young’s Audit Committee. He additionally has been a Director at Frontier Communications Corporation since 2005 and currently serves as the Lead Independent Director and member of the Audit Committee of that company. He also serves as a Director of Gannaway Web Holdings, LLC. Mr. Schrott has been a Trustee at Butler University since 2010. Mr. Schrott was the Chief Financial Officer of The Liberty Corporation from 2001 until 2006. He has also served as a Director and Chairman of the Audit Committee of tw telecom inc. (formerly Time Warner Telecom Holdings Inc.) and the boards of Weather Central Holdings, Inc., Maverick Media and Wide Orbit, Inc. Mr. Schrott is independent of the Company. Mr. Schrott was appointed to the Board in connection with the Company's merger with Young.

H.C. Charles Diao

Mr. H.C. Charles Diao is an Independent Director of Media General, Inc. He is the Vice President—Finance and Corporate Treasurer at Computer Sciences Corporation. He was a Director of Young from 2012 until its merger with the Company in November 2013. During his service as a Director of Young, Mr. Diao served on Young’s Compensation and Nominating Committees. From 2008 to 2012, Mr. Diao was the Managing Director and founder of Diao & Co. LLC, a firm that provided M&A and financial advisory services to corporate clients and investment management services to institutional family offices. Mr. Diao is currently a board member of North Atlantic Holding Company, where he has served on the Audit Committee since 2012. Throughout his career, he has held a variety of senior positions including: Managing Director and Group Head of the telecommunications and media group at Prudential Securities, Senior Managing Director and Group Head—Special Situations Credit at Bear Stearns, Chief Investment Officer at Diao Capital Management LLC, and founder and managing Director of Diao & Co. LLC. Mr. Diao was appointed to the Board in connection with the Company's merger with Young.

Soohyung Kim

Mr. Soohyung Kim is an Independent Director of Media General, Inc. He is the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Investment Officer of Standard General, a New York-based registered investment advisor that he founded in 2007. He was a Director of Young from 2011 until its merger with the Company in November 2013. He was formerly Director of Research and Founding Partner of Cyrus Capital Partners. Prior to that, Mr. Kim was a Principal at OchZiff Capital Management, where he helped launch its fixed income business. Mr. Kim is a member of the Board of Managers of ALST Casino Holdco, the owner and operator of the Aliante Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, and he is a former member of the Board of Greektown Superholdings. Mr. Kim is also a member of the Board of Directors of Greenwich House and the Stuyvesant Alumni Association. Mr. Kim was appointed to the Board in connection with the Company's merger with Young.

Marshall Morton

Mr. Marshall N. Morton is Director of Media General, Inc. He retired in 2012 as the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Company after serving in those capacities since July 2005. He was the Company’s Chief Financial Officer from 1989 until July 2005, its Senior Vice President from 1989 to 2001 and Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors from 2001 to July 2005. He previously held various corporate positions with West Point-Pepperell, Inc. He is a past president of the Heart of Virginia Council-Boy Scouts of America, the Virginia Commonwealth University Foundation, Maymont Foundation and the Richmond Metropolitan Business Foundation. Prior community service includes the Greater Richmond Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, the VCU School of Business Advisory Board and the Board of Governors of St. Catherine's School.

Diana Cantor

Mrs. Diana F. Cantor is an Independent Director of Media General, Inc., since April 2005. Mrs. Cantor is a Partner with Alternative Investment Management, LLC, an independent, privately held investment management firm; and she is the Chairman of the Virginia Retirement System, where she additionally is a member of the Audit and Compliance Committee and is responsible for the agency’s annual audit and budget. From 2008-2009, she was a Managing Director of New York Private Bank & Trust, the wealth management division of Emigrant Bank, where she managed wealth management professionals providing a full range of financial, trust, estate, tax planning and investment management services. From 1996 to 2007, she served as the Founder and Executive Director of the Virginia College Savings Plan, an independent agency of the Commonwealth of Virginia, and in that capacity, she actively supervised the preparation of that agency’s financial statements and worked closely with the agency’s independent auditors. She was Vice President of Richmond Resources, Ltd., a real estate development, construction and management company from 1990 to 1996; and she held several positions, including Vice President, at Goldman, Sachs & Co. between 1985 and 1990. She previously was an associate at Kaye, Scholer, Fierman, Hays & Handler, a New York law firm, from 1983 to 1985. Mrs. Cantor is also a Director of Domino’s Pizza, Inc., where she is the Chairman of that Board’s Audit Committee.

Dennis FitzSimons

Mr. Dennis J. FitzSimons is an Independent Director of Media General, Inc. Mr. FitzSimons is the Chairman of McCormick Foundation, a charitable trust based in Chicago. From 2003 until December 2007, he was the Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Tribune Company, one of the media companies in the nation. Mr. FitzSimons resigned from Tribune Company in December 2007 upon the sale of the company. In December 2008, the company declared bankruptcy. Mr. FitzSimons also was the Chairman of Tribune Company from 2004 until 2007, had served as that company’s Chief Operating Officer and before that rose through the ranks of Tribune’s Broadcast Division, managing that company’s broadcasting, publishing and interactive groups.

Wyndham Robertson

Ms. Wyndham Robertson has been re-appointed as an Independent Director of Media General, Inc., on September 20, 2012. She has served as a director of three other public companies: Capital Cities/ABC, Inc., The Equitable Companies Inc. and Wachovia Corporation. From 1986-1995 she was vice president for communications at the University of North Carolina. Prior to that, she spent 25 years at Fortune Magazine, specializing in investment, financial and technology topics. She graduated from Hollins University and served on its Board of Trustees for more than 30 years, including a term as chair. The Wyndham Robertson Library at Hollins is named in her honor. Miss Robertson currently serves on a number of non-profit boards, including as a member of the investment committee for Hollins. She is a director of the Blanche and Julian Robertson Family Foundation and a trustee of The Robertson Foundation.

Kevin Shea

Mr. Kevin T. Shea is an Independent Director of Media General, Inc. He was a Director of Young from 2012 until its merger with the Company in November 2013. He served on Young’s Audit Committee and as the Chairman of Young's Compensation and Nominating Committees. He was Chief Restructuring Officer of Young from 2010 to 2011. He additionally has served on the Compensation and Audit Committees of Contec Limited since 2012, has served as the Chairman of the Audit Committee at Endurance Business Media since 2013 and has been the sole member of the Board of Directors at ZipLocal Publishing since 2011. Mr. Shea has over 14 years of experience as a turnaround and restructuring professional, and from 2008 to 2013, Mr. Shea was a Managing Director at the consulting firm Loughlin Management Partners & Co. He also serves as President and Director of Ridgewood Crew, a not-for-profit youth rowing program in New Jersey, and on the Financial Advisory Board to the Ridgewood (NJ) Village Council. Mr. Shea was appointed to the Board in connection with the Company's merger with Young.

Thomas Sullivan

Mr. Thomas J. Sullivan is an Independent Director of Media General, Inc. He is the Managing Partner of Smallwood Partners, LLC, a financial advisory services firm. He was a Director of Young from 2009 until its merger with the Company in November 2013, and also served as Executive Chairman of Young from June 2012 until November 2013. He also served on Young’s Audit, Compensation and Nominating Committees. He was the Senior Vice President, Finance, and Chief Financial Officer of Young in 2012. Mr. Sullivan has served as a Director of Utility Services Partners since 2011, he has been a member of the advisory board of Millennium Custodial Trust since 2010, and he has been a Trustee of Accredited Mortgage Loan REIT since 2009. Previously, Mr. Sullivan was a Managing Director with Investcorp International, Inc., a global middle market private equity firm, and he was a Director at CCC Information Services Inc., where he served as Audit Committee Chairman and as a member of the Compensation Committee. Mr. Sullivan was appointed to the Board in connection with Media General’s merger with Young.
