Name Description

Thomas Boardman

Mr. Thomas (Tom) Andrew Boardman has been Chairman of the Board at Millicom International Cellular SA since May 17, 2016. He is a member of the Nominating Committee, the Compensation Committee, the Audit Committee and the Compliance and Business Conduct Committee. Tom Boardman has been a Director of the Board of Investment AB Kinnevik since 2011, and has been elected Chairman of Kinnevik’s Board in May 2016. He is also a Non-Executive Director of Nedbank Group, Woolworths Holdings, Royal Bafokeng Holdings and African Rainbow Minerals, and was a Non-Executive Director of Vodacom Group between 2009 and 2011. Tom held various managerial positions within the South African mining and retailing industries during 1973-1986. Between 1986 and 2002 he held managerial positions within the BoE Bank and during 2003-2010 he was Chief Executive of Nedbank Group. Tom is a South African national with a B Com and CTA from University of Witwatersrand, South Africa.

Mauricio Ramos

Mr. Mauricio Ramos has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of Millicom International Cellular SA, effective as of April 1, 2015. He was most recently President of Liberty Global's Latin American Division, a position he held from 2006 until February 2015. Over the past fourteen years he has held a number of leadership roles at Liberty Global, including positions as Chairman and CEO of VTR in Chile, CFO of Liberty's Latin American Division and President of Liberty Puerto Rico. Throughout this period he has developed both mobile and broadband businesses in Latin America, delivering solid operational improvement and outstanding financial results. Mauricio is also Chairman of TEPAL, the Latin American Association of Cable Broadband Operators. He received a degree in Economics, a degree in Law and a postgraduate degree in Financial Law from Universidad de los Andes in Bogota.

Tim Pennington

Mr. Tim Lincoln Pennington has been Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Millicom International Cellular SA since June 2014. He no longer serves as Interim Chief Executive Officer of the Company, effective as of April 1, 2015. He has held this position since December 2, 2014. He was CFO at Cable and Wireless Communications. He was previously the Group Finance Director for Cable and Wireless plc. Prior to this he was CFO of Hutchison Telecommunications International Ltd which was listed in Hong Kong and New York. He was also Finance Director of Hutchison 3G (UK) (Hutchison Whampoa’s British mobile business). He also has corporate finance experience, firstly as Director in the specialized Financing Department at Samuel Montagu & Co. Limited and then as Managing Director of HSBC Investment Bank within its Corporate Finance and Advisory Department. He also serves as a Director of the Board of Millicom’s jointly owned businesses in Colombia, Guatemala and Honduras, and its wholly owned businesses in Chad, Senegal, Ghana, DRC and Tanzania. He has a Bachelor of Arts (Honors) degree in Economics and Social Studies from the University of Manchester.

Esteban Cristian Iriarte

Mr. Esteban Cristian Iriarte has served as Chief Operating Officer, Latin America of Millicom International Cellular SA since August 2016. He was most recently General Manager in Colombia where, in 2014, he led the merger and well-managed integration of Tigo and the fixed-line company UNE. Prior to joining Tigo Colombia, Esteban was head of Millicom's regional Home and B2B divisions. From 2009 to 2011, he was CEO of Amnet, a leading service provider in Central America for Broadband, Cable TV, fixed line and data services that was bought by Millicom in 2008. In 2009, Esteban was appointed Director of TEPAL, the Latin American Association of Cable Broadband Operators and Independent Director, Charter Communications (US). In 2012, he became Director of Asomovil (Colombian telecommunication industry association); in 2014 he also joined the board of Ruta N, a corporation set up to promote the development of innovative technology-based businesses in Medellin, and was Vice-Chairman of Colombia's national association of public services, named ANDESCO. In 2016 Esteban joined Sura Asset Management board. Esteban is from Argentina and received a degree in Business Administration from the Pontificia Universidad Catolica Argentina Santa Maria de los Buenos Aires, and an MBA from the Universidad Austral in Buenos Aires.

Xavier Rocoplan

Mr. Xavier Rocoplan has served as Executive Vice President, Chief Technology and Information Officer at Millicom International Cellular SA since December 7, 2012. He was previously Chief Global Networks Officer, a position he held from April 2012. He joined Millicom in 2000 as CTO in Vietnam and then became CTO for the South East Asian cluster (Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam). In 2004, he was appointed CEO of Paktel in Pakistan, a role he held until 2007. During this time, he launched Paktel’s GSM operations and led the process that was concluded with the disposal of the business in 2007. After Millicom’s exit from Asia, he was appointed to head the New Corporate Business development unit where he managed the Tower Assets Monetization program which led to the creation of tower companies in Ghana, Tanzania, DRC and Colombia. Xavier also serves as a Director of Millicom’s wholly owned businesses in Bolivia, Costa Rica and El Salvador. He holds Master's degrees from Ecole Nationale Superieure des Telecommunications de Paris and from Universite Paris IX Dauphine.

HL Rogers

Mr. HL Rogers has served as Executive Vice President, Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer of Millicom International Cellular SA, since August 1, 2016. He brings a wealth of experience in managing compliance programs, strengthening compliance policies and procedures, as well as conducting training and development. He was Partner at Sidley Austin LLP, representing individual, corporate and government clients in compliance issues and complex commercial litigation. Mr. Rogers received his Juris Doctor degree from Harvard Law School in 2004 and has published several articles on compliance and ethics within the corporate setting. In 2001, he received his BA degree in English from Brigham Young University.

Salvador Escalon

Mr. Salvador Escalon has served as Executive Vice President and General Counsel of Millicom International Cellular SA since July 2015. He has been General Counsel in the Company since March 2013. He first joined Millicom as Associate General Counsel Latin America in April 2010. In this role he successfully led legal negotiations for the merger of Millicom’s Colombian operations with UNE-EPM Telecomunicaciones S.A., as well as the acquisition of Cablevision Paraguay. From January 2006 to March 2010, Salvador was Senior Counsel at Chevron Corporation, with responsibility for legal matters relating to Chevron’s downstream operations in Latin America. Previously, he was in private practice at the law firms Skadden, Morgan Lewis and Akerman Senterfitt. Salvador also serves as a Director of Millicom’s wholly owned businesses in El Salvador, Bolivia, Costa Rica, Chad and Rwanda. Salvador is an American national and has a J.D. from Columbia Law School and a B.B.A. in Finance and International Business from Florida International University.

Victor Unda

Mr. Victor Unda has served as Executive Vice President, Chief Commercial Officer – LatAm Region at Millicom International Cellular SA since January 1, 2015. He was previously Senior Vice President, Commercial and Area Manager for Central America, Colombia and the US. Victor first joined Millicom in 2000 as a customer service manager for Tigo Guatemala. He was later appointed International Business Director and head of regulatory affairs (2004 to 2007) before becoming Tigo Guatemala’s General Manager (GM). As GM from 2007 to 2011, Victor oversaw the company’s growth in market share from 37 per cent to 52 per cent. Victor has more than 15 years of experience in team building, strategic organizational leadership and relationship management. Since 2013, as Senior Vice President, Commercial, he has driven the financial performance of all global activities in Sales and Distribution, Product Development, Customer Operations, Digital and Valued Added Services. Victor’s academic credentials include a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering (North Carolina State University, 1998), an MBA (University of Notre Dame, 2004), an MA (Harvard Business School, 2005) and the Advanced Executive Program (Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University, 2010).

Daniel Loria

Mr. Daniel Loria has served as Executive Vice President, Human Resources of Millicom International Cellular SA since April 1, 2016. From 2009, Daniel was Head of HR North America at Syngenta, the global agribusiness company headquartered in Switzerland, where he supported and completed key business and HR transformations. Syngenta employs 28,000 people in 90 countries. Previously Daniel was Regional Head of HR for Royal & Sun Alliance Latin America (2007 – 2009); Global Head of HR for Novartis’ Vaccines and Diagnostics division and HR Head of Novartis Pharmaceuticals in Latin America (2003 – 2007); additional experience includes his role as Senior HR Officer and Regional Vice President, Latin America North at Citibank International (1998 – 2003). Daniel has also worked for Kellogg Company in the US and Latin America, and taught as professor and as Organisational Communications Specialist at the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education (ITESM). He has a degree in Business Communications from ITESM Queretaro, and an MA from California State University where he studied Communications and Public Relations as a Fulbright Scholar.

Rodrigo Diehl

Mr. Rodrigo Diehl has been appointed as Executive Vice President, Chief Strategy Officer of the Company. Diehl brings a wealth of experience in the evolution of the telecommunications and technology sectors, and an in-depth understanding of the Latin American region, from his previous roles. Before joining Millicom, Diehl worked as a Partner at McKinsey & Co. both in Germany and in Brazil where, since 2003, he advised telecommunications, technology and media leaders throughout Europe, the USA, Middle East and Latin America. As a leader of McKinsey's Telecom, Media and Technology Practice in Latin America, he has worked closely with telecom operators, IT service providers, software players and device manufacturers across diverse functions including strategy, operations and sales and marketing. Prior to joining McKinsey, he worked as a Senior Analyst and Planning Manager at Techint Group Throughout his career, Diehl has helped governments define their vision and aspirations for the telecom and technology sectors, and published on trends and best practices in the industry. In this regard, he has authored several industry reports on behalf of McKinsey & Co. Rodrigo was also a leader at Digital McKinsey, helping companies stay ahead of emerging digital technology and harnessing its power to shape new business models. He graduated with honours from the University of Buenos Aires and holds an MBA from Harvard Business School. Rodrigo speaks fluent English, Portuguese, Spanish and German.

Cynthia Gordon

Ms. Cynthia (Cindy) T. Gordon has been appointed Executive Vice President, Chief Executive Officer Africa Division at Millicom International Cellular SA effective as of September 21, 2015. Cynthia has more than 20 years of telecom sector specific experience, leading mobile, broadband and fixed-line operations in emerging markets across Asia, the Middle East, Africa and Russia. She developed her Africa experience while at Orange, where she was Vice-President of Partnerships and Emerging Markets, and Ooredoo where she was Chief Commercial Officer, reporting to the Group CEO. At Ooredoo, Cynthia was responsible for optimizing performance across marketing, distribution and customer services, and reviewing and implementing commercial strategies to drive revenue and profitable growth across the Group's footprint. Cynthia also serves as a Director of Millicom’s jointly owned business Zantel, and Millicom’s wholly owned operation in Chad.

Rachel Samren

Ms. Rachel Samren serves as Executive Vice President, External Affairs at MILLICOM INTERNATIONAL CELLULAR S.A. Rachel Samren joined Millicom in July 2014. She is managing the Company’s Government Relations, Corporate Communications and Corporate Responsibility functions. Rachel’s focus is on developing and driving Millicom’s global stakeholder engagement and communication as well as devising and executing special situation strategies. Rachel has a background in the risk management consulting sector and started her career at Citigroup. She currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Reach for Change and Zantel. Rachel holds a Bachelor of Science in International Relations from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a MLitt in International Security Studies from the University of St Andrews.

Odilon Almeida

Mr. Odilon Almeida has been Non-Executive Director of Millicom International Cellular SA since May 15, 2015. He is Chairman of the Compliance and Business Conduct Committee. Mr. Almeida is currently the President for the Americas and European Union Region at Western Union, with responsibility for Western Union’s business across 98 countries, encompassing all of the company’s products and services in North America, Latin America, the Caribbean and Europe. He joined Western Union in 2002, and assumed his current position in 2014. Prior to joining Western Union, Mr. Almeida held positions at FleetBoston Financial, The Coca-Cola Company and Colgate-Palmolive, working in Brazil, Canada, Mexico and the United States. Mr. Almeida is a graduate in Civil Engineering from Maua Engineering School in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and in Business Administration from University of Sao Paulo, and also holds an MBA in Business Administration with specialization in Marketing at Getulio Vargas Foundation, Sao Paulo. He complemented his education at IMD Lausanne, The Wharton School, and Harvard Business School.

Janet Davidson

Ms. Janet G. Davidson has been Non-Executive Director of Millicom International Cellular SA since May 17, 2016. Janet Davidson is currently a Supervisory Board member of STMicroelectronics. Janet held various managerial positions in Alcatel Lucent from 1979-2011 including the role as Chief Strategy Officer, Chief Compliance Officer and Executive Vice President, Quality & Customer Care. Janet is a US national with a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology.

Simon Duffy

Mr. Simon Patrick Duffy has been Non-Executive Director of Millicom International Cellular SA since May 17, 2016. He is Member of the Audit Committee. Simon Duffy is the Non-Executive Chairman of YouView TV and Mblox, and a Non-Executive director of Modern Times Group, Oger Telecom, and Wizz Air. Simon was Executive Chairman of Tradus until the company’s sale in March 2008. He was also Executive Vice Chairman of ntl:Telewest until 2007, having joined ntl in 2003 as CEO. Simon has also served as CFO of Orange, CEO of wireless data specialist End2End, CEO and Deputy Chairman of WorldOnline International, and held senior positions at EMI Group and Guinness. Simon is a UK national with a BA from Oxford University and an MBA from Harvard University.

Jose Fernandez

Mr. Jose Miguel Garcia Fernandez has been Non-Executive Director of Millicom International Cellular SA since May 17, 2016. He is Member of the Audit Committee and the Compensation Committee. He previously served as Co-Chief Executive Officer of Orange Espana. Between 2006 and 2015 he was CEO of the Spanish telecommunications operator Jazztel, and he held various managerial positions within Cable & Wireless from 2000-2006 including CEO of UK & Ireland as well as of Panama. Jose is a Spanish national with a BSc in Electrical & Electronic Engineering and Postgraduate in Digital Telecommunications from Monash University.

Lorenzo Grabau

Mr. Lorenzo Grabau has served as Non-Executive Member of the Board of Directors of Millicom International Cellular SA since May 28, 2013. He is Chairman of the Compensation Committee. He serves as Chief Executive Officer of Investment AB Kinnevik. He is Chairman of Global Fashion Group SA. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of the leading European fashion e-commerce company Zalando SE, of the telecommunications operator Tele 2 AB, and of the Nordic e-commerce and financial services provider Qliro Group AB. Previously, he was a Partner and Managing Director at Goldman Sachs International in London (1999). He was Board Member of SoftKinetic BV from 2011 until 2014. He holds a degree in Economics and Business from La Sapienza University (Universita degli Studi di Roma La Sapienza), Italy.

Tomas Eliasson

Mr. Tomas Eliasson has been Non-Executive Independent Member of the Board of Directors of Millicom International Cellular SA since May 27, 2014. He is Chairman of the Audit Committee. He has been Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice-President of Electrolux, the Swedish household and professional appliances manufacturer, since 2012. He previously held various management positions in Sweden and abroad at ABB Group from 1987–2002, was Chief Financial Officer of Seco Tools AB from 2002–2006 and Chief Financial Officer of ASSA ABLOY AB from 2006–2012. He has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Economics from the University of Uppsala.

Alejandro Santo Domingo Davila

Mr. Alejandro Santo Domingo Davila has served as Non-Executive Independent Member of the Board of Directors of Millicom International Cellular SA since May 28, 2013. He is member of the Compliance and Business Conduct Committee. He is Managing Director at Quadrant Capital Advisors Inc. He is also Member of the Board of Directors of SABMiller Plc, and serves as Vice-Chairman of SABMiller Latin America. He sits on the Boards of a number of the companies controlled by his family-owned business, the Santo Domingo Group. He is Chairman of the Board of Bavaria S.A. in Colombia, and Chairman of Backus and Johnston in Peru. Additionally, he serves as Chairman of the Board of Valorem S.A., and as Director of the Board of Caracol Television S.A., among others. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Harvard University.
