Biographies

Name Description

H. Edward Hanway

Mr. H. Edward Hanway is Independent Chairman of the Board of the Company. He served as President and Chief Operating Officer of Cigna. From 1996 to 1999, he was President of Cigna HealthCare, and from 1989 to 1996 was President of Cigna International. Mr. Hanway is a former Member of the Board of Directors of America’s Health Insurance Plans (AHIP). He is also a past Chairman of the Council on Affordable Quality Healthcare (CAQH) and has been active in a wide range of issues and initiatives associated with children’s health and education. He serves on the Board of Trustees of the March of Dimes Foundation and Drexel Newmann Academy and is the Chairman of the Faith in the Future Foundation committed to growth of Catholic education in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia.

Daniel Glaser

Mr. Daniel S. Glaser is President, Chief Executive Officer, Director of the Company. Prior to assuming this role in January 2013, Mr. Glaser served as Group President and Chief Operating Officer of Marsh & McLennan Companies from April 2011 through December 2012, with strategic and operational oversight of both the Risk and Insurance Services and the Consulting segments of the Company. Mr. Glaser rejoined Marsh in December 2007 as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Marsh Inc. after serving in senior positions in commercial insurance and insurance brokerage in the United States, Europe, and the Middle East. He began his career at Marsh more than 30 years ago. Mr. Glaser was named Chairman of the Federal Advisory Committee on Insurance (FACI) in August 2014. Mr. Glaser also serves on the International Advisory Board of BritishAmerican Business and is a member of the Board of Trustees for The Institutes (American Institute for Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters), the Insurance Information Institute and Ohio Wesleyan University.

Mark McGivney

Mr. Mark McGivney is Chief Financial Officer of the Company. Mr. McGivney has held a number of senior financial management positions since joining the Company in 2007, including Chief Financial Officer of Marsh and Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer of Mercer. In his most recent role as Senior Vice President, Corporate Finance of Marsh & McLennan Companies, Mr. McGivney was responsible for leading and directing the Company’s Corporate Development, Treasury and Investor Relations functions. His prior experience includes senior positions at The Hanover Insurance Group, including serving as Senior Vice President of Finance, Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer of the Property & Casualty business, and investment banking positions at Merrill Lynch and Salomon Brothers.

Scott McDonald

Mr. Scott McDonald is the President, Chief Executive Officer of Oliver Wyman Group of the company. 2014. Prior to assuming this role in January 2014, Mr. McDonald was President of Oliver Wyman. Before becoming President of Oliver Wyman in 2012, Mr. McDonald was the Managing Partner of Oliver Wyman's Financial Services practice and has held a number of senior positions, including the Global head of the Corporate & Institutional Banking practice. Before joining Oliver Wyman in 1995, he was an M&A investment banker with RBC Dominion Securities in Toronto.

Alexander Moczarski

Mr. Alexander S. Moczarski is Chairman of Marsh & McLennan Co International & President and Chief Executive of Guy Carpenter, a subsidiary of Marsh and Mclennan Companies Inc. Moczarski is Chairman of Marsh & McLennan Companies International. In this role, Mr. Moczarski oversees the Company's international strategy, as well as its group of Country Corporate Officers located in regions around the world. Prior to being named Guy Carpenter CEO in April 2011, Mr. Moczarski was President and CEO of the International Division of Marsh. Previously, he was CEO of Marsh Inc.’s Europe, Middle East and Africa region. While at Marsh, Mr. Moczarski held several other roles, including President and CEO of the firm’s International Specialty Operations and Region Head for the Latin America and Caribbean Region. Before joining Marsh in 1993, Mr. Moczarski worked for AIG for nearly 15 years, including as CEO of the firm’s operations in Argentina and Chile.

Julio Portalatin

Mr. Julio A. Portalatin is President and Chief Executive Officer of Mercer, a subsidiary Company of Marsh & McLennan Companies, Prior to joining Mercer in February 2012, Mr. Portalatin was the President and CEO of Chartis Growth Economies, and Senior Vice President, American International Group (AIG). In that role, he had responsibility for operations in Asia Pacific, South Asia, Latin America, Africa, the Middle East and Central Europe. Mr. Portalatin began his career with AIG in 1993 and thereafter held a number of key leadership roles, including President of the Worldwide Accident & Health Division at American International Underwriters (AIU) from 2002-2007. From 2007-2010, he served as President and CEO of Chartis Europe S.A. and Continental European Region, based in Paris, before becoming President and CEO of Chartis Emerging Markets. Prior to joining AIG/Chartis, Mr. Portalatin spent 12 years with Allstate Insurance Company in various executive product underwriting, distribution and marketing positions.

Martin South

Mr. Martin South is appointed as President - US and Canada Division of the Company. effective September 1, 2016. Prior to this appointment, Mr. South served as CEO of Marsh's Asia-Pacific region since 2013. As President, US and Canada division, Mr. South succeeds Rob Bentley, who has transitioned to work on strategic initiatives across Marsh & McLennan Companies' Risk and Insurance Services (RIS) segment, which includes both Marsh and Guy Carpenter. A veteran insurance industry executive with 30 years of global operating experience, Mr. South previously served as CEO of Marsh Europe, and prior to that, CEO of Marsh UK & Ireland. Mr. South's industry experience also includes senior leadership roles at Zurich Financial Services, where he was a member of the Group Management Board, responsible for all of Zurich's operations outside North America and Europe.

Peter Zaffino

Mr. Peter Zaffino is Chairman of the Risk and Insurance Services segment and President and Chief Executive Officer of Marsh, a subsidiary Company of Marsh & Mclennan Companies, Inc. He was named Chairman of the Risk and Insurance Services segment of the Company in May 2015. Prior to being named Marsh CEO in 2011, Mr. Zaffino was President and CEO of Guy Carpenter, a position he assumed in early 2008. Previously, he was an Executive Vice President of Guy Carpenter and had held a number of senior positions, including Head of Guy Carpenter's U.S. Treaty Operations and Head of the firm's Global Specialty Practices. Mr. Zaffino has over 25 years of experience in the Insurance and Reinsurance industry. Prior to joining Guy Carpenter in 2001, he held several senior positions, including serving in an executive role with a GE Capital portfolio company.

Laurie Ledford

Ms. Laurie Ledford is Chief Human Resource Officer, Senior Vice President of the Company., Since April 10, 2012. Ms. Ledford is responsible for Marsh & McLennan Companies' overall human capital and talent strategy and the delivery of human resources services to all our colleagues worldwide. Prior to her current role, Ms. Ledford served as Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) for Marsh Inc. Ms. Ledford joined Marsh in 2000 and was named CHRO in 2006, after having served as Senior Human Resources Director for Marsh's International Specialty Operations. Her prior experience was with Citibank and NationsBank.

Peter Beshar

Mr. Peter J. Beshar is Executive Vice President and General Counsel of Marsh & McLennan Companies Inc. In addition to managing the Company's Legal, Compliance & Public Affairs function, He also oversees the Company's Government Relations and Risk Management groups. Before joining Marsh & McLennan Companies in November 2004, Mr. Beshar was a Litigation Partner in the law firm of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP. Mr. Beshar joined Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher in 1995 after serving as an Assistant Attorney General in the New York Attorney General's office and as the Special Assistant to Cyrus Vance in connection with the peace negotiations in the former Yugoslavia.

E. Scott Gilbert

Mr. E. Scott Gilbert is Senior Vice President, Chief Information Officer of the Company. Mr. Gilbert leads the Company’s firm-wide efforts to improve the experience of clients and colleagues through the development and implementation of innovative and cost-effective technologies. In his role, he has responsibility for the Global Technology Infrastructure group and the Marsh & McLennan Innovation Centre, and he chairs the Company’s Information Technology Council. In addition, Mr. Gilbert oversees the Company's global Business Resiliency and Security operations. Prior to joining Marsh & McLennan Companies in January 2005, he had been the Chief Compliance Counsel of the General Electric Company since September 2004. Prior thereto, he was Counsel, Litigation and Legal Policy at GE. Between 1986 and 1992, when he joined GE, he served as an Assistant United States Attorney in the Southern District of New York

Anthony Anderson

Mr. Anthony K. Anderson serves as Independent Director of the Company. Mr. Anderson spent 35 years with Ernst & Young LLP, retiring as Vice Chair and Midwest Area Managing Partner in 2012. He served as the senior advisory partner to numerous Fortune 500 companies, including leading consumer, financial services and insurance companies, and supervised more than 4,000 employees. Mr. Anderson was a member of E&Y’s Executive Board for 12 years, and served on the Board of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago from 2008 to 2010. In addition to serving on the Company’s Board of Directors, Mr. Anderson serves on the Boards of AAR Corp., Avery Dennison Corporation and Exelon Corporation. Mr. Anderson also serves as Chairman of the Board of Perspectives Charter Schools and as a member of the Boards of the Chicago Urban League, the Chicago Council on Global Affairs, World Business Chicago and the Regional Transportation Authority of Chicago.

Oscar Fanjul Martin

Mr. Oscar Fanjul Martin is an Independent Director of the Company. Mr. is Vice Chairman of Omega Capital, a private investment firm in Spain. Mr. Fanjul is the Founding Chairman and former Chief Executive Officer of Repsol. Mr. Fanjul is a Director of Acerinox and Lafarge (Vice Chairman). He is a Trustee of the Amigos del Museo del Prado Foundation. Mr. Fanjul is a former Director of Unilever, the London Stock Exchange and Areva.

Elaine La Roche

Ms. Elaine La Roche is an Independent Director of the Company. She served as Chief Executive Officer of China International Capital Corporation in Beijing from 1997 to 2000. Over the course of a 20-year career at Morgan Stanley, Ms. La Roche rose from Associate to Managing Director, serving in a variety of roles including Chief of Staff to the Chairman, and President and Head of the Asia Desk. From 2008 to 2010, Ms. La Roche was with JPMorgan Chase & Co. in Beijing, where she served as Vice Chairman, J.P. Morgan China Securities. Ms. La Roche served on the Board of Directors of Linktone Ltd., where she was Non-Executive Chairman from 2004 to 2008. She also served on the Board of Directors of China Construction Bank (CCB) from 2006 to 2011 and from 2012 to 2015 after a mandatory one-year hiatus. Ms. La Roche currently serves on the Board of Directors of Harsco Corporation.

Steven Mills

Mr. Steven A. Mills is an Independent Director of the Company. Mr. Mills joined IBM in 1973 and during the course of his 40-plus-year career held various executive leadership positions across the Company. At the time of his retirement, Mr. Mills was the Executive Vice President of Software & Systems, with responsibility for directing IBM’s $40 billion product business, which included over 100,000 employees spanning development, manufacturing, sales, marketing and support professions.

Bruce Nolop

Mr. Bruce P. Nolop is an Independent Director of the Company. Where he served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer from September 2008 through 2010. Previously he was Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Pitney Bowes Inc. from 2000 to 2008 and Managing Director of Wasserstein Perella from 1993 to 2000. Prior thereto he held positions with Goldman, Sachs & Co., Kimberly-Clark Corporation and Morgan Stanley & Co. Mr. Nolop also serves on the Board of Directors of TEGNA Inc. (formerly Gannett Co., Inc.), On Deck Capital, Inc. and privately-held CLS Group Holdings AG.

Marc Oken

Mr. Marc D. Oken is an Independent Director of the Company. He was Chief Financial Officer of Bank of America Corporation from 2004 to 2005. Mr. Oken joined Bank of America in 1989 as Executive Vice President-Chief Accounting Officer, a position he held until 1998, when he became Executive Vice President-Principal Finance Executive. Mr. Oken is also a Director of Sonoco Products Company and Capital Bank Financial Corp.

Morton Schapiro

Mr. Morton O. Schapiro is an Independent Director of the Company. Prior to that, he was President and Professor at Williams College from 2000. Previous positions include Dean of the College of Letters, Arts and Sciences of the University of Southern California from 1994 to 2000, the University’s Vice President for planning from 1999 to 2000, and Chair of its Department of Economics from 1991 to 1994.

Lloyd Yates

Mr. Lloyd M. Yates is an Independent Director of the Company. Mr. Yates served as Executive Vice President of Customer Operations for Duke Energy. Mr. Yates has more than 30 years of experience in the energy industry, including the areas of nuclear and fossil generation, and energy delivery. Before the merger between Duke Energy and Progress Energy in July 2012, Mr. Yates served as President and Chief Executive Officer for Progress Energy Carolinas. Mr. Yates joined Progress Energy’s predecessor, Carolina Power & Light, in 1998. Before joining Progress Energy, he worked for PECO Energy for 16 years in several line operations and management positions. Mr. Yates serves on several community-based and industry boards and also serves as the President and Chairman of the Association of Edison Illuminating Companies.

Robert Yost

Mr. Robert David Yost is an Independent Director of the Company. Yost was the President and Chief Executive Officer of AmerisourceBergen, a comprehensive pharmaceutical services provider, from 2001 until his retirement in 2011. Mr. Yost also held a variety of other positions with AmeriSource Health Corporation and its predecessors from 1974 to 2001, including Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer from 1997 to 2001. Mr. Yost is a graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy and was previously a Captain in the United States Air Force. Mr. Yost serves on the Board of Directors of Tyco International, Exelis Inc. and Bank of America. Mr. Yost also serves on the U.S. Air Force Academy Endowment Board.
