Name Description
Schmick, Douglas Douglas L. Schmick is the Chairman of the Board of McCormick & Schmick's Seafood Restaurants Inc. He was Chief Executive Officer of the company. From 1997 through January 2007 he served as President and from 1997 through 1999, he also served as Chief Executive Officer and served as secretary, treasurer, and Chief Executive Officer from 1974 through 1997. Mr. Schmick has served on the Board of Directors since August 22, 2001. Mr. Schmick received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Idaho. On November 13, 2008, it was announced Mr. Schmick would resign as chief executive officer in January 2009. Mr. Schmick remains chairman of the board.
Freeman, William William T. Freeman has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer and Director of McCormick & Schmick's Seafood Restaurants, Inc., effective January 27, 2009. William Freeman has more than 19 years of experience in the restaurant and entertainment industries, most recently as the Founder, President and Chief Executive Officer of Fox Sports Grill, where he was responsible for the creation, development, operation and growth of the concept from inception. He has also held senior management positions with Robert Redford's Sundance Entertainment, where he was responsible for all operating divisions including the Sundance Channel, Sundance Resort and the development of the Sundance Film Centers; and Disney Regional Entertainment, where he developed, operated and grew the ESPN brand on a national basis through the development of retail, restaurant and live production venues. Earlier in his career, Mr. Freeman also served in executive positions at DAKA International, a former parent company of Champps Americana and Fuddruckers. Mr. Freeman began his career as a Certified Public Accountant at Ernst & Whinney.
Lantow, Michelle Ms. Michelle Lantow has been appointed as Chief Financial Officer of McCormick & Schmick's Seafood Restaurants effective January 6, 2010. Ms. Lantow brings 25 years of experience in corporate financial management and leadership to the Company, having most recently served as the president and chief financial officer of Lucy Activewear, Inc., a Portland, Ore.-based apparel company that designs and sells fashion forward performance apparel for athletic women. Lucy Activewear is a wholly owned subsidiary of VF Corporation (NYSE: VFC). During her nine years at Lucy, she completely restructured the finance organization to support its rapid growth from a dot-com business to a retailer with 65 stores in 19 states. As part of her responsibilities, she also led the strategic planning process, and re-launched Lucy's e-commerce segment as the company began developing its store portfolio. She began her career as a CPA at Arthur Andersen and Co. in San Francisco. She then moved into the retail apparel industry at GAP, Inc. (NYSE: GPS). During her 13-year tenure at GAP, she worked in a variety of positions, including vice president of finance, corporate controller and vice president of investor relations, where she managed corporate financial reporting, corporate financial planning and analysis, investor relations, merchandise planning and consolidated financial operations for the $12 billion retail portfolio including the concepts Gap, Gapkids Banana Republic and Old Navy. He attended the University of California at Santa Barbara, where she received a bachelor of arts degree in business economics, graduating summa cum laude.
Liedberg, Michael Mr. Liedberg joined McCormick & Schmick's in January 2004 and was appointed executive vice president of operations in January 2007. From 2004 through 2006, he was vice president of operations. Mr. Liedberg has over 20 years of management experience in the restaurant industry including service as the president and chief executive officer of Desert Moon Restaurants from December 2001 to January 2004. Before 2001, Mr. Liedberg held various positions for thirteen years with Avado Brands, Inc. Mr. Liedberg’s education includes a certificate from the Management Program at Georgia Institute of Technology and a Human Resources Certificate from the University of Georgia.
Skeele, Jeffrey Mr. Skeele has been a senior vice president of operations of McCormick & Schmick’s since January 2008, and from 1998 to 2007 he was a vice president of operations. He also has held the positions of senior manager (1991-1996) and general manager (1986-1988). From 1988 to 1991, Mr. Skeele was a vice president at West Group Partners.
Gardner, Martin Mr. Gardner has been vice president, finance of McCormick & Schmick’s since January 2007 and corporate controller of the Company since June 2007. Mr. Gardner joined in 2004 and previously served as director of finance. From 2000 to 2004, Mr. Gardner was corporate controller of Lexar, Inc. From 1995 to 2000, Mr. Gardner held various management positions, including corporate controller, for Mattson Technology, Inc. Mr. Gardner received his Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from San Jose State University, his Master of Science degree in finance from Golden Gate University and is a certified public accountant.
Foote, Steven Steven B. Foote has been a vice president of operations of McCormick & Schmick’s since January 2007. Mr. Foote also has held the positions of regional senior chef (2003-2006) and executive chef (1999-2003). Mr. Foote had over 12 years of chef and related culinary experience prior to joining McCormick & Schmick’s.
Westcott, Christopher Christopher C. Westcott has been a vice president of operations of McCormick & Schmick’s since September 2007. Mr. Westcott has held the positions of regional manager (2001-2007), regional chef (1998-2004), executive chef (1996-1998), general manager (1991-1996), and assistant manager (1990-1991). Mr. Westcott is a graduate of The Culinary Institute of America (1979) and has 15 years of related restaurant experience prior to joining McCormick & Schmick’s.
King, William William H.P. King has been vice president of culinary development & training of McCormick & Schmick’s since 2006. Mr. King joined McCormick & Schmick’s in 1985 and has held various positions, including executive chef, regional senior chef and executive director of training & culinary development. Mr. King attended Cornell University’s School of Hotel and Restaurant Administration and has over 30 years experience in the culinary and hospitality industry.
Cunningham, Daniel Daniel P. Cunningham has been vice president of information technology since May of 2008. Mr. Cunningham joined the company in 2005 as the director of financial systems and has held the positions of director of information technology and executive director of information technology. Prior to joining Mr. Cunningham spent three years with The Revere Group, most recently as a managing consultant. From 1998 to 2002 Mr. Cunningham held various positions, most recently as the accounting manager for Chart House Enterprises, Inc., a publicly traded full-service restaurant operator. Mr. Cunningham received his Bachelor of Science degree from Marquette University in accounting.
Gordon, Kelly Kelly A.B. Gordon joined McCormick & Schmick’s in 2007 as a vice president as part of The Boathouse Restaurants acquisition. In addition to his responsibilities over The Boathouse Restaurants, in December of 2008 he assumed operational responsibility for McCormick & Schmick’s restaurants in Washington state. Prior to joining McCormick & Schmick’s, he spent seven years as vice president of operations for The Spectra Group. Prior to that, Mr. Gordon was a partner with The Keg Steakhouse & Bar restaurants for eight years. Mr. Gordon received his Bachelors degree from Simon Fraser University, majoring in business and economics.
Jurgensen, Elliott Elliott H. Jurgensen, Jr. has been a Director of the Mccormick & Schmick’s Seafood Restaurants, Inc since June 2004. Mr. Jurgensen retired from KPMG LLP in 2003 after 32 years, including 23 years as a partner. At KPMG, he held a number of leadership roles, including: National Partner in Charge of KPMG’s Hospitality Industry Practice from 1981 to 1993, Managing Partner of the Bellevue, Washington office from 1982 to 1991, and Managing Partner of the Seattle, Washington office from 1993 to 2002. He has served as President of Three Mates LLC, a family retail business since February 2001 and he is also a director of Isilon Systems, Inc. and BSquare Corporation. Mr. Jurgensen has a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from San Jose State University and is a Certified Public Accountant.
Edmonds, J. Rice J. Rice Edmonds has been a Director of the Mccormick & Schmick’s Seafood Restaurants, Inc since June 2002. Mr. Edmonds is currently a Managing Director of Edmonds Capital, LLC, a private equity firm that he founded in October 2008. Since February 1996, Mr. Edmonds has been with Bruckmann, Rosser, Sherrill & Co., Inc. and currently serves as Managing Director. Mr. Edmonds also serves on the boards of directors of Town Sports International, Inc., The Sheridan Group, Inc. and other private companies. Mr. Edmonds received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Virginia McIntire School of Commerce and earned an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
Pittaway, David David B. Pittaway has been a Director of Mccormick & Schmick’s Seafood Restaurants, Inc. since June 2002. Since 1998, Mr. Pittaway has been senior managing director of Castle Harlan, Inc. and since 1986, he has been Vice President and Secretary of Branford Castle, Inc., an investment company. Mr. Pittaway also serves on the boards of directors of Morton’s Restaurant Group, Inc., P&MC’s Holding LLC, Bravo Restaurant Group, Equipment Support Services, Inc., BKH Acquisition Corp., and The Dystrophic Epidermolysis Bullosa Research Association of America, Inc. and is a director and co-founder of the Armed Forces Reserve Family Assistance Fund. Klein, Jeffrey Jeffrey D. Klein has been a Director of Mccormick & Schmick’s Seafood Restaurants, Inc since October 2006. Mr. Klein is a Managing Director of Equity Group Investments, LLC, a private investment company, which he joined in 1996, and serves on a number of private boards of portfolio companies. Before joining Equity Group Investments, LLC, Mr. Klein headed the Chicago-based loan structuring and syndication unit of Citicorp Securities, Inc. where he underwrote and arranged bank debt for investment and non-investment-grade borrowers. Mr. Klein has a B.A. in finance from Georgetown University.
Parish, James James R. Parish has been a Director of Mccormick & Schmick’s Seafood Restaurants, Inc. since October 2006. Mr. Parish is the owner and principal in Parish Partners, Inc., an investment advisory and consulting firm specializing in the foodservice industry.
