Mr. Phuthuma F. Nhleko BSc (Civil Eng), MBA, is an Interim Executive Chairman of the Board of MTN Group Limited. He has been Chairman: Nominations committee; Member: Remuneration and human resources committee. Other directorships: Chairman of various companies in the MTN Group, chairman of Pembani Group (Pty) Limited, director of BP Plc, director of Anglo American Plc, Rapid African Energy, Afrisam (South Africa) (Pty) Limited, Afrisam Group (Pty) Limited, Opiconsivia Investments 230 (Pty) Limited.

Brett Goschen

Mr. Brett D. Goschen is Executive director, Group Chief financial Officer of MTN Group Limited effective July 21, 2013. Mr. Goschen joined the Group as Chief Financial Officer of MTN Nigeria in 2002. In this role, he developed and implemented growth strategies for markets within the region. Prior to that, he was the Managing Director of Microsoft South Africa for six years. During his tenure in the South African business, Nyati drove Microsoft’s innovation and leadership across the company’s core businesses in key markets. He was also integral to the development and implementation of Microsoft’s 4Afrika Initiative, a multi-year effort which aims to actively engage in Africa’s economic development to improve the continent’s global competitiveness. Nyati spent 12 years at IBM, where he held a number of senior executive roles. He has a BSc degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Natal. In 2004, he was named a Yale University World Fellow.

Jyoti Desai

Ms. Jyoti A. Desai is Group Chief Operating Officer of MTN Group Limited. She started her career at The Standard Bank of SA Limited. She moved to Telkom SA in an executive position before joining MTN Nigeria as chief information officer. She then moved to Iran in 2005 to start up the Iran operation as COO of MTN Irancell before taking up her current role.

Benjamin Marais

Mr. Benjamin Marais has been appointed as Chief Information Officer of the Company, effective March 2016. Marais joins MTN from Discovery Health where he served in a similar role, a statement said. He is a qualified engineer with a BEng, Electronic Engineering qualification from the University of Pretoria and has worked across the continent, in the United Kingdom and in the Middle East.
