Peter Gershon |
Sir Peter Gershon is Non-Executive Chairman of the Board of National Grid Plc, since 1 January 2012. He served as Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Company since 1 August 2011 until 1 January 2012. He is Chairman of Tate & Lyle plc, which provides ingredients to the global food industry and has business interests in the US. He is also Chairman of General Healthcare Group Limited, Vertex Group Limited, a member of the UK Defence Academy Advisory Board and a member of HM Government Efficiency Board. Previously he was Chairman of Premier Farnell plc, Chief Executive of the Office of Government Commerce, Managing Director of Marconi Electronic Systems and Chairman of Symbian Limited. He spent most of his international business career in the technology and telecommunications industries before becoming Board Director for GEC plc from 1994 to 1999, with responsibility for its worldwide defence business. Following the sale of GEC's defence business to BAE Systems in 1999, Sir Peter Gershon joined the Civil Service in April 2000, as the first Chief Executive of the Office of Government Commerce (OGC). He was knighted in 2004 for his work on public procurement. He is a Chartered Engineer, Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering, Fellow of Imperial College London and Honorary Fellow of the Institution of Engineering & Technology. |

Mr. Steve Holliday is Chief Executive, Executive Director of National Grid Plc. He became Chief Executive of National Grid in January 2007 having joined National Grid Group plc as Group Director, UK and Europe in March 2001, becoming responsible for the electricity and gas transmission businesses in 2002. He was appointed as Group Director responsible for UK Gas Distribution and Business Services in 2003. He was formerly an Executive Director of British Borneo Oil and Gas. Previously, Steve spent 19 years within the Exxon Group, where he held senior positions in the international gas business and managed operational areas such as refining and shipping. Mr. Tom King is Executive Director, US and Director of National Grid Plc. His responsibility for Electricity Distribution & Generation operations. Following the recent reorganisation, Tom is responsible for all US businesses in the new position of Executive Director and President, US. He was President of PG&E Corporation and Chairman and CEO of Pacific Gas and Electric Company from 2003 to 2007. Before that, he held a number of senior positions within the PG&E group having joined in 1998. Ms. Nora Mead Brownell has been appointed as Non-Executive Director of National Grid Plc, with effect from 1 June 2012. She began her career in energy serving as a Commissioner of the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission from 1997 to 2001. Between 2001 and 2006, she served as a Commissioner for the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). She later co-founded the energy consulting firm, ESPY Energy Solutions, LLC. She is also the former President of the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners. Nora attended Syracuse University. She also previously served as the Senior Vice President, Corporate Affairs, for Meridian Bancorp, Inc. Prior to joining Meridian in 1987, she was Deputy Executive Assistant to former Pennsylvania Governor Richard Thornburgh. In addition, Nora also served on the board of Leaf Clean Energy Company, an AIM listed company, as a non-executive director from September 2007 to November 2009 and on the board of Ener1, Inc. until 30 March 2012. She currently serves on the boards of the following public companies: Comverge, Inc. as the chair of the nominating and corporate governance committee and Spectra Energy Partners LP where she serves on the audit committee and conflicts committee. Nora also continues as a partner in ESPY Energy Solutions, LLC. |
Jonathan Dawson |
Mr. Jonathan D. S. Dawson has been appointed as Non-Executive Director of National Grid PLC., effective March 4, 2013. He has also been appointed as the member of the Remuneration Committee and Finance Committee. He currently serves as senior independent non-executive director of Next plc, where he has chaired the remuneration committee since 2006, and is also a non-executive director with Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group plc. In addition Jonathan is a partner in Penfida Partners LLP. Jonathan started his career in the Ministry of Defence before joining Lazard, the investment bank, where he spent over 20 years. He left Lazard in 2005 and cofounded Penfida Partners, a pension fund trustee advisory firm. Paul handed over his Chief Executive responsibilities during the final quarter of 2011 and continued as Chairman until retiring from E.ON UK plc in December 2011.
