Name Description

Robert Aitken

Mr. Robert Murray Aitken is Independent Non-Executive Chairman of the Board of Nuplex Industries Limited. He joined the board in July 2006, and became Chairman in November 2008. Mr. Aitken has over 25 years experience in senior management roles with manufacturing, industrial marketing and distribution businesses in Australia, Asia, North America and Europe. Most recently this has been as Executive General Manager Southcorp Water Heaters and Southcorp Appliances and prior to that as President Formica Corporation. He is the Chairman of Rubicor Group Limited and a Director of Alesco Corporation Limited. Mr. Aitken is an Ex Officio member of the Audit, Remuneration and Safety, Health & Environment Committee.

Emery Severin

Dr. Emery Severin serves as Chief Executive Officer, Managing Director and Director of Nuplex Industries Limited. Between 1977 and 1986, Mr. Severin was an officer in the Australian Regular Army. After completing a B.Sc. in Chemistry in 1977 at the Royal Military College, Duntroon, he joined the Signals Corps. During this same period, he was awarded a Rhodes Scholarship and read for a D. Phil in physical chemistry at Oxford University. In 1986 Emery joined BHP Steel initially in a planning and business development role before holding a range of line management positions in Australia and South-east Asia. In 1996 he joined Boral Limited, moving to Executive General Manager of Boral’s Australian Construction Materials Division in early 2000. In 2004 he was appointed as President, Boral Industries Inc based in Atlanta, Georgia with a focus on building Boral’s United States operations through green field developments and acquisitions. In 2007 the focus changed and Mr. Severin proactively led Boral’s response to the unprecedented United States housing market downturn before returning to Australia to take up his new role at Nuplex.

Ian Davis

Mr. Ian Davis has been appointed as Chief Financial Officer of Nuplex Industries Ltd effective February1, 2009. He is a Chartered Accountant, Ian has over 30 years experience in public accounting and senior financial roles in commerce. The commercial roles have predominantly been in manufacturing and include experience in Australia, New Zealand, China and the United States. Prior to joining Nuplex, Ian was CFO of Tenix Pty Ltd and before that, General Manager Finance of Rheem Australia Pty Ltd.

Sam Bastounas

Mr. Sam Bastounas is Regional President – Australasia for Nuplex Industries Ltd. Prior to his current position, he served as Chief Operating Officer for the Australasian based Functional Materials and Specialties operations. He has held a number of roles with Orica and ICI in the past and spent two years in Asia as CFO of a joint venture in the late 1990s. He holds a B.Sc. (Hons) in Chemistry and an MBA, both from Monash University in Melbourne. In 2007 he completed the AMP at the Wharton School in the United States and in 2009 completed his graduate diploma at The Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Mike Kelly

Mr. Mike Kelly is Regional President - Americas for Nuplex Industries Limited. Before being appointed to Regional President, Americas in 2011, he had been running Nuplex’s North and South American resins operations since 2002. Mr. Kelly joined Nuplex through the acquisition of Akzo Nobel’s Coating Resins operation in 2005 and has over 30 years’ experience in the coatings industry. he has held a variety of roles in sales and marketing and joined Akzo Nobel in 1996 as Director of Sales and Marketing for North America. Mr. Kelly holds Bachelor in Business Administration degree from the University of Illinois, and graduate MBA studies from Northwestern University.

Paul Kieffer

Mr. Paul Kieffer is Regional President - Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) for Nuplex Industries Limited. He joined Nuplex through the acquisition of Akzo Nobel Coating Resins in 2005. Mr. Kieffer joined Akzo Nobel in 1987 and was appointed General Manager of the European Resins operations in 2002, and held this role until his appointment to Regional President in 2011. Throughout his career, he has held a number of roles in production, sales and marketing as well as senior management. He completed his studies in Mineral Processing & Metallurgy at the Technical University, Delft in the Netherlands.

Ruben Mannien

Mr. Ruben Mannien is Regional President - Asia for Nuplex Industries Limited. He joined Akzo Nobel as a Member of their Graduate Recruitment Program in 1997, and he joined Nuplex following the acquisition of their coating resins operations in 2005. Prior to being appointed as Regional President for Asia in 2011, he was General Manager for China for three years, and before that, Director General in Vietnam for three years. Prior to moving into senior management roles in Asia, he held a number of global raw material procurement roles. Mr. Mannien has a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering and Management Science from the Eindhoven University of Technology, in the Netherlands.

Clive Deetlefs

Mr. Clive Deetlefs is Group General Manager - Operations of Nuplex Industries Limited. He is a Chartered Professional Chemical Engineer and also has a bachelor’s degree in Accounting / Business Economics. In addition, he is a Certified Six Sigma Master Black Belt. He has 23 years of experience in senior manufacturing roles including process and project engineering, multi-plant operational management, and regional supply chain operations. He has global experience, having worked in South Africa, United Kingdom, Netherlands, United States, Asia, as well as Australia. Prior to joining Nuplex, Mr. Deetlefs was the Global Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing Lead for Monsanto based in the United States.

William Weaver

Mr. William Weaver is Vice President - Technology for Nuplex Industries Limited. Mr. Weaver has been overseeing Nuplex’s global R&D activities since 2008, having previously been Nuplex Resins’ European R&D manager. He holds B.Sc. (Hons) degree in Chemistry from the University of Lancaster and a M.Sc. degree in Polymer Science and Technology from the London School of Polymer Technology. During his career, his areas of focus included several of Nuplex’s main product areas including powder coatings, automotive in-mould and industrial coatings, as well as composite resins. He joined Nuplex following its acquisition of Akzo Nobel’s Coating Resins operations in 2005, having joined Akzo Nobel in 1994.

James Williams

Mr. James Williams is Vice President, General Counsel, Company Secretary and Investor Relations Contact Officer of Nuplex Industries Limited. He joined Nuplex in 2009 in the role of General Counsel & Company Secretary. He has over 25 years of experience in commercial law and corporate administration, and has worked as legal counsel and company secretary in a number of publicly listed companies. He was previously a partner in a medium-sized law firm in Sydney before leaving private practice to work in-house. He holds degrees in Commerce and Law and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries in Australia. Mr. Williams brings to the role at Nuplex a focus on legal and regulatory affairs, corporate governance and administration, and regulatory risk management and compliance.

Paul Davey

Mr. Paul Davey is Vice President - Human Resources for Nuplex Industries Limited. He joined Nuplex in July 2010 in the newly created role of Vice President - Human Resources. Previously, Mr. Davey has held Human Resources leadership positions in multinationals such as Nestle, Glaxo Wellcome and senior consulting roles within Ernst & Young & Mercer. These roles have all had regional accountability - based in Australia, Switzerland, United Kingdom and South Africa. Paul has a B.A. and Post Graduate honors in Business Administration.

Hasan Shafi

Mr. Hasan Shafi has been appointed as Vice President - Corporate Development & Planning of Nuplex Industries Limited with effect from August 9, 2010. Mr. Shafi has broad experience in management consulting, R&D, engineering and academia. Prior to joining Nuplex, he was a Principal with A.T. Kearney, a global management consulting firm, in its Sydney office. For over ten years, Hasan consulted to clients in Australia, New Zealand, South-east Asia, China and United States. Mr. Shafi has a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Newcastle, a B.Sc. in Aeronautical Engineering from the Middle East Technical University in Turkey and an MBAE from the Ross School of Business, University of Michigan.

Josie Ashton

Ms. Josie Ashton is Director of Corporate Communications at Nuplex Industries Ltd since October 3, 2012. She has joined Nuplex in November 2010 in the role of Communications & Investor Relations Manager. Prior to joining Nuplex, she worked in the banking and finance sector in various roles covering communications and investor relations.

Rob Harmsen

Mr. Rob Harmsen is Chief Operating Officer - Nuplex Resins, a subsidiary of Nuplex Industries Limited. He joined Nuplex through the acquisition of Akzo Nobel Coating Resins in 2005. Previously, he held various roles with Akzo Nobel since 1985 before joining the Resins business unit in 1994 as Financial Controller. He was appointed business manager Surface Coatings Resins Europe in 1996. During that time, he was involved in setting and implementing the growth strategy for coating resins in Asia. In 1999 he was appointed General Manager Surface Coating Resins and in 2002, after the addition of the sub-business units Powder Resins and Automotive OEM Resins, General Manager Coating Resins. After the acquisition of Akzo Nobel Coating Resins, Mr. Harmsen became the Group General Manager Nuplex Resins. After an extended four months stay in Sydney in 2006, he moved from the Netherlands to Sydney on January 1, 2007. He was appointed Chief Operating Officer Nuplex Resins in December 2009.

Barbara Gibson

Ms. Barbara Gibson is Independent Non-Executive Director of Nuplex Industries Limited. She Joined the Board in September 2008. Ms. Gibson is a former senior executive with Orica Limited (previously ICI Australia). Her last position was as Group General Manager, Chemicals Group. She has experience in the development of technology based businesses in Australia and overseas. Barbara is a Non-Executive Director of Penrice Soda Holdings Limited and St Barbara Limited, and Chairman of Warakirri Asset Management Pty Ltd. In 2003 Barbara received the Centenary Medal for services to Australian Society in Medical Technology. She is a member of the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering. Barbara is the Chairman of the Remuneration Committee and a member of the Safety, Health and Environment Committee.

David Jackson

Mr. David Alexander Jackson serves as Non-Executive Independent Director of Nuplex Industries Ltd since November 3, 2006. He is a former Chairman and Audit Partner of Ernst & Young. In 1994, he was awarded a Fellowship of the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants. He is an Independent Director of Pumpkin Patch Limited and Fonterra Cooperative Group Limited, and Chairman of The New Zealand Refining Company Limited. He is Chairman of the Dame Malvina Major Foundation, and a trustee of the New Zealand National Maritime Museum. He is Chairman of the Audit Committee and member of the Nomination Committee.

Jeremy Maycock

Mr. Jeremy (Jerry) Charles Roy Maycock is Independent Non-Executive Director of Nuplex Industries Ltd effective September 1, 2011. Mr. Maycock holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering and has over 30 years’ experience in senior management roles with responsibility for Southern ASEAN, Australian and Pacific Companies. He is currently Chairman of AGL Energy Limited and Port of Brisbane Pty Ltd. He is also on the Advisory Council of the Australian School of Business at the University of New South Wales. From 2007 to 2010, he was Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of CSR Limited. Before joining CSR, he was Managing Director and CEO of Hastie Group Limited from 2004 to 2007. From 1998 to 2004, he was Senior Vice President of Swiss construction materials group, Holcim Ltd. He was with Shell Oil (NZ) Limited, Tait Electronics Limited and Milburn NZ Limited. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering and completed Stanford University's senior executive and finance management programs. He is Fellow of the Institute of Professional Engineers New Zealand and Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Peter Springford

Mr. Peter Martin Springford has been appointed Independent Non-Executive Director of Nuplex Industries Limited effective September 1, 2009. He spent 30 years in the forest and building products industries. He is currently Chairman of Hung Hing Printing Group Ltd, a Hong Kong based listed printing and packaging company, an independent director of The New Zealand Refining Company Ltd and a director of other industrial companies based in China, Malaysia and New Zealand. He is a trustee of The Graeme Dingle Foundation. Mr. Springford is the Chairman of the Safety, Health and Environment Committee and a member of the Audit Committee.
