Name Description
Schnatter, John Mr. John Schnatter is the Chairman of the Board, Chief Executive Officer of Papa Jonn's Int'l, Inc. He created the Papa John’s concept in 1984 and the first Papa John’s restaurant opened in 1985. He currently serves as Founder Chairman and was appointed Interim Chief Executive Officer in December 2008, upon the resignation of Nigel Travis as President and Chief Executive Officer. He served as Executive Chairman of the Company from 2005 until May 2007, as Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer from 1990 until 2005, and as President from 1985 to 1990 and from 2001 until 2005.
Thompson, Joseph Joseph Jude Thompson is President, Chief Operating Officer, Director of Papa John's International, Inc. Mr. Thompson is the co-owner of Assurance Investment Partners, a national insurance brokerage agency. From 2006 to 2008, he served as senior vice president of WellPoint, Inc. and president, Individual Business of Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, a division of WellPoint. From 2005 to 2006, Mr. Thompson was president, WellPoint/Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kentucky and Individual Under 65, and previously, he served five years as Vice President and General Manager of Anthem's Individual and Kentucky Group.
Flanery, J. David J. David Flanery has served as Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer of Papa John’s International, Inc since January 2004. He previously served as Senior Vice President of Finance since August 2002. Since 2007, Varga has held the position of Senior Vice President/Director of Marketing for Brown-Forman, responsible for the company's Wines and Spirits portfolio in the North American Region, representing 30 brands with annual sales well in excess of $1 billion. O'Hern, Timothy Mr. Timothy C. O'Hern has been appointed as Senior Vice President - Development of Papa John's International, Inc effective June 16, 2009. He has rejoined Papa John’s in early 2005 as Senior Vice President, Development, after spending two years managing the operations of a Papa John’s franchisee in which he has an ownership interest. Prior to his departure from Papa John’s in 2002, Mr. O’Hern held various positions, including Vice President of Global Development from February 2001 to 2002, Vice President of U.S. Development from March 1997 to February 2001, Director of Franchise Development from December 1996 to March 1997 and Construction Manager from November 1995 to December 1996. Mr. Thompson has served as Vice President, Quality Control Center Operations for Papa John's since 2006. North has been with Papa John's since 2005 serving as Division Vice President, North Division, leading the division's operations and development efforts that have resulted in increasing market share, development and profitability. In his new capacity, North will be responsible for overseeing all franchise and corporate operations in the U.S. and Canada.
