Name Description

Kathleen Taylor

Ms. Kathleen P. Taylor has been appointed as Non-Executive Chairman of the Board of Royal Bank of Canada effective January 1, 2014. Ms. Taylor is Chair of the Board of RBC and a director of the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board. She is the former President and Chief Executive Officer of Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts where she served in a variety of senior leadership roles during her 24-year career. Ms. Taylor is also a Vice Chair of the Board of the Hospital for Sick Children Foundation, the Chair of the Principal’s International Advisory Board of McGill University and a member of the Dean’s Advisory Council of the Schulich School of Business of York University. Ms. Taylor has a Master of Business Administration degree from Schulich School of Business, a law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree from the University of Toronto.

David McKay

Mr. David I. McKay has been appointed as President, Chief Executive Officer, Director of Royal Bank of Canada effective August 1, 2014. Prior to being appointed as President on February 26, 2014, Mr. McKay was Group Head of the Personal & Commercial Banking segment of RBC, which comprises RBC's personal banking operations and certain retail investment businesses in Canada, the Caribbean and the U.S., as well as RBC's commercial banking operations in Canada and the Caribbean. Mr. McKay's distinguished 26-year career at RBC includes senior roles in retail banking, risk management and international experience in corporate banking.

Janice Fukakusa

Ms. Janice R. Fukakusa is Chief Financial Officer, Chief Administrative Officer of Royal Bank of Canada. Ms. Fukakusa was appointed to Group Executive in her role as Executive Vice- President and Chief Financial Officer in January 2007. Prior to joining the bank, Ms. Fukakusa worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP where she obtained the professional designations of chartered accountant and chartered business valuator. Ms. Fukakusa obtained her Bachelor of Arts from University of Toronto and holds a Master of Business Administration from Schulich School.

Mark Hughes

Mr. Mark Hughes has been appointed as Chief Risk Officer of Royal Bank of Canada effective January 10, 2014. Mr. Hughes joined RBC in 1981 after completing an LL.B at Leeds University and an MBA (Finance) at Manchester University. He has held progressively senior roles at the bank primarily in Corporate Banking and Global Credit in Capital Markets. In his current role, Mr. Hughes has global responsibility for operational and administrative matters for RBC's Capital Markets business.

M. George Lewis

Mr. M. George Lewis is Group Head - Wealth Management and Insurance of Royal Bank of Canada. Mr. Lewis was appointed to Group Executive in his role as Group Head, Wealth Management in March 2007 and effective October 31, 2012 was appointed as Group Head, Wealth Management and Insurance. From July 2000 to May 2008, Mr. Lewis was Chief Executive Officer of RBC Asset Management Inc., Company Canadian mutual fund and asset management business. From 2003 to 2007, Mr. Lewis was also Head of Products for Royal Bank of Canada’s Canadian Personal and Commercial Banking (including Wealth Management).

A. Douglas McGregor

Mr. A. Douglas McGregor is Group Head - Capital Markets and Investor & Treasury Services of Royal Bank of Canada. Doug has been a great leader of the Capital Markets business and has led the expansion and re-balancing of this business where a much larger portion of earnings are now derived from corporate and investment banking, origination fees, and client-based activities in the trading businesses.

Bruce Ross

Mr. Bruce Ross has been appointed as Group Head - Technology and Operations of the Company., with effective January 2014. In his role, Mr. Ross will set the strategic direction and oversee overall management of global technology and operations for RBC, which includes applications development, infrastructure and enterprise operations. A seasoned executive with broad technology and business experience, Mr. Ross joins RBC from IBM, where he was most recently the General Manager, Global Technology Services, North America. As a member of IBM's strategy team which sets the long-term direction of the company, he was responsible for business strategy in the emerging areas of cloud, mobility, social and analytics. His prior roles include General Manager, Global Technology Services, Europe and General Manager and President, IBM Canada. Bruce's areas of responsibility have included providing thought leadership and services to global financial institutions. Mr. Ross has an engineering degree from the University of Western Ontario and has been active in a number of business and community organizations in Canada.

Jacynthe Cote

Ms. Jacynthe Cote has been appointed as Director of the Company effective September 1, 2014. Ms. Côté was President and Chief Executive Officer of Rio Tinto Alcan from 2009 until June 2014 and continues to serve in an advisory role until her retirement on September 1, 2014. Prior to that, Ms. Côté served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Rio Tinto Alcan's Primary Metal business group, following Rio Tinto's acquisition of Alcan Inc. in October 2007. Ms Côté joined Alcan Inc. in 1988 and she served in a variety of progressively senior leadership roles during her 26-year career, including positions in human resources, environment, health and safety, business planning and development and production/managerial positions in Quebec and in England. Ms. Côté has a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from Laval University in Québec. She serves as a member of the Advisory Board of the MontrealNeurological Institute and of the Board of Directors of École des Hautes Études Commerciales Montreal.

William Beattie

Mr. William Geoffrey Beattie is Independent Director of Royal Bank of Canada. Mr. Beattie is Chief Executive Officer of Generation Capital (a private investment firm) and Chairman of Relay Ventures (a venture capital firm). He served as Deputy Chairman of Thomson Reuters Corporation from 2000 through May 2013 and was President and Chief Executive Officer of The Woodbridge Company Limited (an investment holding company) from 1998 to December 2012. In addition to the public company board memberships listed below, Mr. Beattie is a trustee of the University Health Network and a director of the Dean’s Advisory Board of the Joseph L. Richard George

Mr. Richard L. George is Independent Director of Royal Bank of Canada. Mr. George is a partner of Novo Investment Group (an investment management company). He served as Chief Executive Officer of Suncor Energy Inc. (an integrated energy company) from 1991 to May 2012, and also held the position of President from 1991 until December 2011.
