Name Description

Kathleen Taylor

Ms. Kathleen P. Taylor, J.D., serves as Independent Chairman of the Board of Royal Bank of Canada. Ms. Taylor is Chair of the Board of RBC and a director of the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board. She is the former President and Chief Executive Officer of Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts where she served in a variety of senior leadership roles during her 24-year career. Ms. Taylor is Chair of the Board of the Hospital for Sick Children Foundation, the Chair of the Principal’s International Advisory Board of McGill University and a member of the Dean’s Advisory Council of the Schulich School of Business of York University. Ms. Taylor has a Master of Business Administration and an Honorary Doctorate of Laws from the Schulich School of Business, a law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from the University of Toronto.

David McKay

Mr. David I. McKay has been appointed as President, Chief Executive Officer, Director of Royal Bank of Canada effective August 1, 2014. Mr. McKay was appointed President of RBC on February 26, 2014, and prior to that served as Group Head, Personal and Commercial Banking from November 2012 to February 2014. From April 2008 to October 2012, Mr. McKay was Group Head, Canadian Banking. Mr. McKay started his career at RBC over 26 years ago and he has held progressively senior roles. He is the Vice Chair of the Board of Governors for the University ofWaterloo and serves on the Board of Trustees for the Hospital for Sick Children. Janice Fukakusa

Ms. Janice R. Fukakusa is Chief Financial Officer, Chief Administrative Officer of Royal Bank of Canada. Ms. Fukakusa was appointed to Group Executive in her role as Executive Vice- President and Chief Financial Officer in January 2007. Prior to joining the bank, Ms. Fukakusa worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP where she obtained the professional designations of chartered accountant and chartered business valuator. Ms. Fukakusa obtained her Bachelor of Arts from University of Toronto and holds a Master of Business Administration from Schulich School.

Mark Hughes

Mr. Mark Hughes has been appointed as Chief Risk Officer of The Royal Bank of Canada, effective January 10, 2014. Mr. Hughes joined RBC in 1981 after completing an LL.B at Leeds University and an MBA (Finance) at Manchester University. He has held progressively senior roles at the bank primarily in Corporate Banking and Global Credit in Capital Markets. In his current role, Mr. Hughes has global responsibility for operational and administrative matters for RBC's Capital Markets business.

M. George Lewis

Mr. M. George Lewis, CFA is Group Head - Wealth Management and Insurance of The Royal Bank of Canada. Mr. Lewis was appointed to Group Executive in his role as Group Head, Wealth Management in March 2007 and effective October 31, 2012 was appointed as Group Head, Wealth Management and Insurance. From July 2000 to May 2008, Mr. Lewis was Chief Executive Officer of RBC Asset Management Inc., Company Canadian mutual fund and asset management business. From 2003 to 2007, Mr. Lewis was also Head of Products for Royal Bank of Canada’s Canadian Personal and Commercial Banking (including Wealth Management).

A. Douglas McGregor

Mr. A. Douglas McGregor is Group Head - Capital Markets and Investor & Treasury Services of The Royal Bank of Canada. Doug has been a great leader of the Capital Markets business and has led the expansion and re-balancing of this business where a much larger portion of earnings are now derived from corporate and investment banking, origination fees, and client-based activities in the trading businesses.

Bruce Ross

Mr. Bruce Ross has been appointed as Group Head - Technology and Operations of The Royal Bank of Canada., with effective January 2014. In his role, Mr. Ross will set the strategic direction and oversee overall management of global technology and operations for RBC, which includes applications development, infrastructure and enterprise operations. A seasoned executive with broad technology and business experience, Mr. Ross joins RBC from IBM, where he was most recently the General Manager, Global Technology Services, North America. As a member of IBM's strategy team which sets the long-term direction of the company, he was responsible for business strategy in the emerging areas of cloud, mobility, social and analytics. His prior roles include General Manager, Global Technology Services, Europe and General Manager and President, IBM Canada. Bruce's areas of responsibility have included providing thought leadership and services to global financial institutions. Mr. Ross has an engineering degree from the University of Western Ontario and has been active in a number of business and community organizations in Canada.

Jacynthe Cote

Ms. Jacynthe Cote has been appointed as Director of The Royal Bank of Canada, effective September 1, 2014. Ms. Côté was President and Chief Executive Officer of Rio Tinto Alcan from 2009 until June 2014 and continues to serve in an advisory role until her retirement on September 1, 2014. Prior to that, Ms. Côté served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Rio Tinto Alcan's Primary Metal business group, following Rio Tinto's acquisition of Alcan Inc. in October 2007. Ms Côté joined Alcan Inc. in 1988 and she served in a variety of progressively senior leadership roles during her 26-year career, including positions in human resources, environment, health and safety, business planning and development and production/managerial positions in Quebec and in England. Ms. Côté has a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from Laval University in Québec. She serves as a member of the Advisory Board of the MontrealNeurological Institute and of the Board of Directors of École des Hautes Études Commerciales Montreal.

William Beattie

Mr. William Geoffrey Beattie is Independent Director of Royal Bank of Canada. Mr. Beattie is Chief Executive Officer of Generation Capital (a private investment firm) and Chairman of Relay Ventures (a venture capital firm). He was Deputy Chairman of Thomson Reuters Corporation from 2000 through May 2013 and was President and Chief Executive Officer of The Woodbridge Company Limited (an investment holding company) from 1998 to December 2012. Mr. Beattie is a director of DBRS Ratings Limited and is a trustee of the University Health Network. Mr. Beattie holds a law degree from the University of Western Ontario.

Mr. Toos N. Daruvala has been appointed as Independent Director of Royal Bank of Canada., effective January 1, 2015. Mr. Daruvala is a Director and Senior Partner of McKinsey & Company (a management consulting firm) based in New York City. He currently leads McKinsey’s risk management practice in the Americas and serves on the global board of McKinsey. David Denison

Mr. David F. Denison is Independent Director of Royal Bank of Canada. Mr. Denison is a corporate director. He served as Chief Executive Officer of Suncor Energy Inc. from 1991 to May 2012 and also held the position of President from 1991 until December 2011. Mr. George holds a Bachelor of Science in engineering from Colorado State University, a law degree from the University of Houston Law School and is a graduate of the Harvard Business School Program for Management Development. J. Pedro Reinhard

Mr. J. Pedro Reinhard is Independent Director of Royal Bank of Canada. Mr. Reinhard is President of Reinhard & Associates (a financial and management advisory company). From 1996 to 2005, Mr. Reinhard served as Executive Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer of The Dow Chemical Company.
