Name Description
Nayyar, Vineet Mr. Vineet Nayyar is the Chairman of the Board of Satyam Computer Services Ltd. He's also the Vice Chairman of Tech Mahindra. In a career spanning over 40 years, Nayyar has worked with the Government of India, international multilateral agencies and in the corporate sector (both public and private). Nayyar started his career with the Indian Administrative Service and held a series of senior positions, including that of a District Magistrate, Secretary - Agriculture & Rural Development for the Government of Haryana and Director, Department of Economic Affairs, Government of India. He also worked with the World Bank for over 10 years in a series of senior assignments, including successive terms as the Chief for the Energy, Infrastructure and the Finance Divisions for East Asia and Pacific. He was also the founding Chairman and Managing Director of the state owned Gas Authority of India and has served as the Managing Director of HCL Corporation Ltd and as the Vice Chairman of HCL Technologies Ltd. He was also a co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of HCL Perot Systems. Nayyar received a master’s degree in development economics from Williams College, Massachusetts. Gurnani, C. Mr. C.P. Gurnani is the Chief Executive Officer of Satyam Computer Services Ltd. Prior to moving to Mahindra Satyam, CP headed Tech Mahindra’s Global Operations, Sales and Marketing functions, and led the development of Tech Mahindra’s Competency & Solution units. CP’s inimitable style of leadership combined with his sharp focus on customer experience has helped Tech Mahindra to emerge as one of the providers of IT Services and Telecom Solutions to the global telecom ecosystem. CP has experience in building international business, start-ups, turnarounds, joint ventures and mergers & acquisitions. In a career spanning over 28 years, he has held several positions with HCL Hewlett Packard Limited, Perot Systems (India) Limited and HCL Corporation Ltd. Prior to joining Tech Mahindra, CP was the Chief Operating Officer and a co-founder of Perot Systems (India) Limited, initially set up as HCL Perot Systems. At HCL Perot Systems, CP orchestrated the HCL Corporation and Perot Systems joint venture from its inception to making it one of India’s top IT services companies. CP received a chemical engineering degree from the National Institute of Technology, Rourkela. He serves on the boards of CanvasM, Tech Mahindra (Thailand) Limited, Tech Mahindra (Beijing) IT Services Limited, Mahindra Logisoft and Tennenbaum Institute in Georgia Institute of Technology among others. CP takes keen interest in community work and was nominated by Ernst & Young for the Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 2007.
Shankar, S. Durga Mr. S. Durga Shankar is Chief Financial Officer of Satyam Computer Services Limited. He is a Chartered Accountant with over 25 years experience in various facets of Finance - as a Banker, Corporate Treasurer, Head of M&A and as Group CFO. Before joining Mahindra Satyam, Durga was Group CFO with KSK Group which has interests in power development & generation. KSK Group has listed entities in India and in the AIM market in the UK. During his tenure, KSK successfully listed on the Indian bourses and its initial public offer was over-subscribed amidst turbulent and choppy market conditions. Prior to his stint with KSK, Durga was with the Mahindra Group for around a decade where he held various positions – as Treasurer, VP-Corporate Strategy and Senior VP-Mergers & Acquisitions. He set up and was head of M&M’s Mergers & Acquisitions department and during his tenure, M&M completed various domestic and international acquisitions successfully. Prior to M&M, Durga was with ICICI Ltd (erstwhile development financial institution) for a period of 13 years and was head of its Chennai Zonal operations. Kunwar, Atul Mr. Atul Kunwar is President - Global Operations of Satyam Computer Services Limited. He was heading Tech Mahindra’s Asia-Pacific, R&D services (to Telecom equipment providers), iPolicy Networks (security products division) businesses and M&A portfolio. In an impressive career spanning over two decades in the IT/BPO services, Telecom & Technology business domains, Atul has successfully steered companies/businesses & multi-cultural teams through start-up, growth, turnaround, mergers & restructuring phases at organizations such as 3Com, Bharti BT Internet, eFunds, HCL, Syntel, and TransWorks (Aditya Birla group). Recognized as a dynamic leader, he has a track record of building high performance teams, operating effective alliances and institutionalizing processes to deliver superior customer experiences and value. An accomplished speaker and an active contributor to industry forums, Atul is a recipient of “IT People Award” for Leadership in Strategy (ITes/BPO) and “Techies-Networking Man of the Year” award. An Electrical Engineer from Delhi College of Engineering, He also holds an MBA from FMS – Delhi University.
Soni, Rakesh Mr. Rakesh Soni is Chief Operating Officer and Chief Delivery Officer - Manufacturing, Commercial & Services of Satyam Computer Services Limited. At Tech Mahindra he was the COO and, was responsible for the operations and service delivery teams of software service delivery, technical support, administration, infrastructure and quality. Rakesh has successfully spearheaded several challenging projects within strict timelines and budgets. Prior to joining Tech Mahindra, Rakesh was the EVP - Perot Systems TSI, creating and managing diverse high performance teams including resource management, quality, service delivery, human resources and finance. In a career spanning over three decades in the IT space, Rakesh has held leadership positions across high performance multi cultural organizations such as Abu Dhabi Computer Centre, Tata Consultancy Services, and Engineers India Ltd. With a keen financial acumen and bottom-line focus, this IIT Kanpur alumnus is known for his ability to demonstrate value accretion to stakeholders.
Vadrevu, Vijayanand Mr. Vijayanand Vadrevu is Senior Vice President - Strategic Initiatives of Satyam Computer Services Ltd. In his new role, Vijay will be assisting the CEO, in providing leadership on “Strategic Initiatives” to Mahindra Satyam, and will play a key role in scripting the growth plans of the organization. He has a experience in IT services industry with over 17.5 years with Wipro Technologies. For the last 3 years, he was working as Vice President and Head for Life Sciences Vertical solutions, responsible for Strategy, Sales and Delivery and was instrumental in shaping it as one of the fastest growing Verticals. He who holds a masters degree in Computer Engineering from IIT Kharagpur, has spent more than 6 years in the U.S in a number of client facing and practice building roles.
Jha, Dilip Mr. Dilip Jha is Senior Vice President and Business Head, Middle East, Africa & India of Satyam Computer Services Limited. He has over two decades of experience in starting and the Indian operations of several high technology companies. He has a B.Tech degree in Electrical Engineering from the IIT Kanpur and an MBA from IIM Calcutta. After a decade of business leadership at Satyam in starting and growing its footprint in telecommunication, healthcare and insurance, Dilip led the SSUs Corporate Planning & Strategy, and Quality as Sr. Vice President. He started the emerging Healthcare, Insurance & Pharmaceuticals vertical business unit of Satyam in 2001 and has quickly steered the unit to growth segment of the company. In less than five years, each of these three vertical have matured and emerged as areas of niche leadership for Satyam. Mr. Dilip has had a stint, as CEO, at Satyam IdeaEdge Technologies, a JV from Satyam Computer Services Ltd. Before this, he was Senior Vice President at Satyam Enterprise Solution, where he founded the Telecommunications Practice in 1996. This grew into a team of over 600 consultants for the mobile and Internet industry before being merged back in Satyam in 1999. Prior to Satyam, he started and led the AT&T Global Systems Program in India, focused on leveraging Indian software potential for global R&D services. He was instrumental in setting up business for global RDBMS companies such as Sybase and Oracle that were looking at India both as an attractive market for their products and cost-effective source for services, globally. Mr. Dilip spends most of his free time with his NGO, Aarohan Foundation focused on enterprise development at grass-root level.
Murthy, A. Mr. A. S. Murthy is the Chief Technology Officer of Satyam Computer Services Limited. He is responsible for technology competency and innovation, as well as the creation of technology assets and IP, especially for Enterprise Business Services and new technology areas. He also leads specialized services such as engineering, consulting and Infrastructure Management Services (IMS), which will be managed with independent P&L responsibilities and Mahindra Satyam Learning World, which provides technical education and training to associates. He is responsible for key functions such as resource fulfillment and resource optimization across the organization. The CIO’s organization (internal information systems, networks & systems) also reports to him. ASMjoined Satyam in 1994 and has a deep understanding of the organization and of the IT industry, and he brings proven expertise in overseeing global delivery, nurturing customer relationships, a business unit, and spearheading the strategic use of human resources for competitive advantage. During February to June 2009 as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at Satyam, ASM led the company through turbulent times with great efficiency and tremendous commitment. During the last 15 years, ASM has played several other key roles in the company, such as the Head of Global Delivery, Head of the Leadership Development, Head of Human Resources, and Head of the insurance vertical, among others. An electrical engineer from National Institute of Technology (Warangal), ASM joined Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) after completing his masters' degree in School of Automation from the Indian Institute of Science (Bangalore) in 1981. Thalapalli, Hari Mr. Hari Thalapalli is Chief Marketing Officer and Chief People Officer of Satyam Computer Services Limited. He has over two decades of experience in the IT industry and has been with Mahindra Satyam for the past 11 years - playing vital roles in the organization’s growth and during its turbulent phase in the recent past. In his previous role as Head of Global Marketing and Communication, Mr. Thalapalli brought to fore his understanding of people behavior to drive innovation and visibility enhancing programs for the organization. Prior to this, as Head – Human Resources, Thalapalli frequently raised the performance bar to help the organization scale new heights while leveraging human capital. Under his tutelage, Mahindra Satyam was repeatedly acknowledged for its innovative and path-breaking HR practices in many national and international forums (Hewitt and Mercer’s “Best Employer” recognitions and ASTD and Training & Development’s Global Ranking among them). Prior to Mahindra Satyam, Thalapalli had worked in OMC Computers Ltd. and DSQ Software - both of which were in a fledgling stage at the time of his joining. He played a key role in defining and establishing HR policies and frameworks. Active in various professional forums, he has also been on the governing body of multiple educational institutions. Mehta, Manish Mr. Manish Sukhlal Mehta is Chief Delivery Officer, Europe, APAC, MEA and India of Satyam Computer Services Limited. Previously, Manish was heading Mahindra Satyam’s SAP and Managed Testing practices. Manish propelled Mahindra Satyam’s SAP and Testing practices into the global marketplace. Infusing delivery and operational excellence in carefully differentiated segments, he has unearthed opportunities with unceasing gusto leveraging incisive market insights, deep domain knowledge, innovative technology applications, and cementing mutually-rewarding customer partnerships. Under Manish’s Leadership Mahindra Satyam’s SAP practice was recognized amongst the top 5 global players by Forrester, and won Frost & Sullivan’s Competitive Strategy Leadership Award for Offshore Testing Market (2007). Within Mahindra Satyam, SAP and Testing practices were rated amongst the fastest growing horizontal competency units. He holds a masters’ degree in Industrial Development and Chemistry from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani. He has over 28 years of rich and varied experience in the IT industry. He began his career at the Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). In 15 years, he made contributions to technical competency, project management, training, quality assurance, marketing, and business development. He established and headed the TCS operations in Germany, facilitated ISO 9001 certification in several delivery centers, and managed large edge technology projects deploying teams operating out of multiple global locations. While at Datamatics, he established and profitably managed a strategic business unit for banking and finance till he was promoted to head all business operations. Over the last twelve years with Mahindra Satyam, Manish has contributed significantly in various capacities to the company’s growth. Manish has been responsible for the growth of a number of strategic, horizontal competency, and vertical business units like manufacturing, automotive, engineering services, ADMS, SAP, and Testing.
Parthasarathy, Padma Ms. Padma Parthasarathy is Head - Special Initiatives of Satyam Computer Services Limited. She is responsible for special initiatives, especially related to the integration between Mahindra Satyam and Tech Mahindra. She has been managing a number of post-acquisition activities at Mahindra Satyam, since May 2009. An alumna of the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, and the University of Bombay, Padma has more than 20 years of experience in consulting and technology outsourcing, primarily in the financial services industry. She was earlier Vice President, Strategic Markets & Initiatives at Tech Mahindra, where her responsibilities included Mergers and Acquisitions. Padma joined Tech Mahindra from consulting firm Capco, where she was Country Manager in India, responsible for Capco’s offshore services to global clients, as well as consulting services for domestic clients. Prior to Capco, she was Vice-President of Strategic Accounts and Initiatives at Perot Systems’ Indian subsidiary.
Kalra, Sanjay Mr. Sanjay Kalra is Director of Satyam Computer Services Ltd. He is the CEO of Tech Mahindra Limited. In his earlier role at Tech Mahindra he spearheaded the BT relationship, Research & Development services for telecom equipment manufacturers and transformation/business process reengineering services. He is also responsible for Mergers & Acquisitions for Tech Mahindra. Prior to joining Tech Mahindra, Kalra was the Chief Executive Officer of DSL Software (a joint venture between HCL Technologies Ltd. and Deutsche Bank), which is focused on providing IT and BPO solutions to capital markets. Kalra has also served at HCL as President of HCL Technologies Europe and was responsible for the creation and incubation of Cisco’s first outsourced Research & Development center in India. With global roles in Schlumberger Limited and Tata Unisys, Kalra has extensively leveraged global delivery to create new products and business lines, nurtured start-ups and led high growth businesses. Kalra was responsible for cross-border transactions involving the purchase of Deutsche Software from Deutsche Bank, Apollo Contact Center from BT in Northern Ireland and Axes Technologies in India. Mr. Kalra received a degree in electrical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi and is a recipient of the “Outstanding Contribution Award for National Development” from the Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi Alumni Association. In addition to his responsibilities at Tech Mahindra, Kalra’s principal directorships include his serving as a director on the board of directors of CanvasM Technologies Limited.
Yargop, Ulhas Mr. Ulhas N. Yargop is Director of Satyam Computer Services Ltd. He is the President, IT Sector and Member, Group Management Board of Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. He joined Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd in 1992 and has worked as General Manager — Corporate Planning, General Manager — Product Planning, General Manager, Mahindra-Ford Project, and as Treasurer of Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. He was appointed as President, IT Sector in 1999. The IT Sector includes Tech Mahindra (focused on the telecom vertical) and Bristlecone (focused on supply chain consulting). Yargop is also responsible for Mahindra SIRF, the corporate venture capital activity of the Mahindra Group. He has previously worked with GKN Automotive Inc., USA as Director of Finance and later with GKN Invel Transmissions Ltd., New Delhi as General Manager — Commercial. He also worked with The Standard Batteries Ltd., Mumbai as Vice President — Industrial. Achuthan, C. Mr. C. Achuthan is Independent Director of Satyam Computer Services Limited. He was the Chairman of the Securities Appellate Tribunal. Prior to that, Achuthan was a member of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI). Achuthan is currently a member of the board of directors of the National Stock Exchange of India Ltd. and a trustee of the ING Mutual Fund. Damodaran, M. Mr. M. Damodaran, IAS (Retired), is Independent Director of Satyam Computer Services Ltd. He is currently practicing as an independent consultant in diverse areas of management. He has over 30 years of experience in financial services and public sector enterprises and has served as the former Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), Chairman and Managing Director of Industrial Development Bank of India (IDBI) and as Chairman of the Unit Trust of India (UTI). He has also held various positions in the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting and the Ministry of Commerce.
Kaji, Gautam Mr. Gautam S. Kaji is Independent Director of Satyam Computer Services Ltd. Mr. Kaji is the former Managing Director for operations of the World Bank with responsibility for Africa, East Asia and the Pacific and South Asia. He also led the World Bank's finance and private sector development programs and served as chair of the World Bank's operations committee, which reviews all projects put forward for World Bank support. Prior to this, he worked in a commercial bank. He is currently Chairman of Centennial Group - a Washington-based Policy and Strategic advisory firm and their non-profit initiative `The Emerging Markets Forum.’
