Name Description
Presser, Robert Mr. Robert Presser has been appointed as Interim Chairman of the Board of Sofame Technologies Inc. with effect from October 7, 2009. Mr. Presser is the Vice-President of Acme Engineering Products Ltd., where he is responsible for the recruitment, training and support for Acme's worldwide network of over 100 manufacturers' representatives. Mr. Presser holds an MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario and a Bachelor's degree in Business from l'Ecole des Hautes Etudes Commerciales at the University of Montreal. Prior to returning to Acme in 1993, he was a management consultant working on corporate governance and merger and acquisition mandates for Canadian corporations. In 2007 Mr. Presser was appointed to the board of directors of Defense Construction Canada and became Chairman of the board in June, 2008. Mr. Presser is an experienced project manager, covering mechanical, electrical and electronic engineering disciplines for Acme's contracts with international engineering firms like SNC Lavalin and Bechtel, and has presented papers and seminars on Acme's process technologies at technical conferences in Europe and North America.
Gocek, John John Gocek is Chief Operating Officer of Sofame Technologies Inc. He was the co-founder of Ventrol Air Handling Systems Inc., an engineering-intensive manufacturer of custom air handling systems for large buildings, which is a subsidiary of Nortek Holdings. Nortek Holdings was previously publicly traded on the New York Stock Exchange until August 2004. Mr. Gocek was the Chief Financial Officer, Vice-President and Controller of Ventrol Air Handling Systems Inc. from 1997 to October 2007. Mr. Gocek has a BA in Economics from McGill University.
Mandeville, Luc Luc Mandeville is Vice President - Technology and Research, Director of Sofame Technologies Inc. He is co-founder of sofame and served as its President for several years. Mr. Mandeville has developed markets in North America and Europe for SOFAME products since the company's founding in 1984. He has over 20 years of experience in the energy field.
Ratnani, Kebir Kebir Ratnani is Director of Sofame Technologies Inc. He has a College Diploma in Pure Sciences, a B. Sc. and an M. Sc. A in chemical engineering from Laval University and a diploma in management and marketing from the Institute of Gas Technologies, Chicago, Illinois. From 1997 to 2000, he was employed at Hydro-Québec International Inc. as Vice-President, Africa and the Middle East. Since December 10, 2000, Mr. Ratnani has held the position of Vice-President International, Infrastructure – Water – Energy at SNC-Lavalin Inc. He has 22 years of experience in the natural gas, electricity, windmill and energy sectors and holds 13 patents relating to natural gas, petrochemical and environmental technologies.
Samaha, Fahim Fahim Samaha is Director of Sofame Technologies Inc. He is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Soffimat SA, has been appointed to the board of directors of Sofame Technologies Inc. Mr. Samaha is an electrical engineer trained at AUB and Berkeley, and is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Soffimat SA, which he co-founded in 1988. Soffimat has participated, either as a contractor, operator, owner or developer, in power projects representing more than 1.4 gigawatts of installed capacity in different energy applications, including gas turbines, gas and diesel engines, microturbines, and thermal energy recovery systems. Since 1998, Mr. Samaha has been actively developing Soffimat's strategic focus on renewable energy and innovative, energy-saving solutions that boost fuel efficiency. He has championed the development of over 100 megawatts of biogas and biomass power plants as well as environment-friendly public transportation vehicles, most notably, the Bi-Scot, the first electric vehicle to be certified road worthy in France. Having concluded the acquisition of more than two dozen businesses, Mr. Samaha has built an extensive business network across Europe in the energy field.
