Name Description
Beffa, Jean-Louis Mr. Jean-Louis Beffa is Chairman of the Board of Directors of Compagnie de Saint Gobain SA. He is a graduate of the French Ecole Polytechnique, Member of the French Corps des Mines, and holds degrees from each of the Ecole Nationale Superieure du Petrole and the Paris Institut d'Etudes Politiques. He began his career in the Oil Division of the French Ministry of Industry as an Engineer and later became Head of the Refining Department (1970) and Deputy Director of the Division (1973). In 1974, he joined Groupe Saint-Gobain as Vice-President Corporate Planning, Managing Director and subsequently Chairman and Managing Director of Pont-a-Mousson, a subsidiary of the Saint-Gobain Group; he was also President of the Pipe and Mechanics Division of Saint-Gobain from 1979 to 1982. Mr. Beffa was Chairman of the Board, Managing Director (CEO) and Member of the Executive Committee of Compagnie de Saint Gobain SA from January 1986 until June 7, 2007, after having been Compagnie de Saint Gobain SA's Managing Director in March 1982. Mr. Beffa is also Vice-Chairman of BNP Paribas, Director of Gaz de France and Group Bruxelles Lambert, Chairman of Claude Bernard Participations SAS and a Member of the Supervisory Boards of Siemens, Le Monde S.A. and Societe Editrice du Monde S.A. and Le Monde Partenaires SAS. He is also Chairman of Claude Bernard Corporation SAS, Director of Saint-Gobain Corporation, Co-Chairman of Centre Cournot pour la Recherche en Economie and Vice Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Fonds de Reserve des Retraites. He is a Commander of the French Legion of Honour and Commander of the British Empire.
De Chalendar, Pierre-Andre Mr. Pierre-Andre De Chalendar was named Managing Director (CEO) of Compagnie de Saint Gobain SA on June 7, 2007 and is a Member of the Company’s Executive Committee. He was also appointed Member of the Company’s Board of Directors on June 8, 2006 and is a Member of the Company’s Strategy Committee. He previously served as Appointed Managing Director of Compagnie de Saint Gobain SA on May 3, 2005. He is a graduate of ESSEC and alumnus of ENA (Ecole Nationale d’Administration). Guillot, Laurent Mr. Laurent Guillot is the Director of Finance of Compagnie de Saint Gobain SA as of April 1, 2009. Prior to that, he had been General Delegate to Brasil, Argentina and Chile since January 2007. He is a graduate of Ecole Polytechnique and the Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussees engineering school. He also holds a Post-graduate degree in Macro-economics from Universite Paris I Pantheon Sorbonne. Colas, Gilles Mr. Gilles Colas is the General Delegate to North America of Compagnie de Saint Gobain SA as of January 1, 2009. Prior to that, he had served as the General Delegate to the Asia-Pacific region for five years. A graduate of Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussees, he joined Compagnie de Saint Gobain SA in 1973. Normant, Emmanuel Mr. Emmanuel Normant is the General Delegate to the Asia-Pacific region of Compagnie de Saint Gobain SA as of January 1, 2009. He has been a Senior Vice President of the Company since March 2008 and managed the Flat Glass Sector from 2007. A graduate of Ecole des Mines de Paris with a Masters Degree in Economic Systems Planning (Stanford University, he worked as a Controller at Corning Class before joining Compagnie de Saint-Gobain SA in 1982. Field, Bernard Mr. Bernard Field is Secretary General, Member of the Executive Committee and Secretary of the Board of Directors of Compagnie de Saint Gobain SA. After qualifying in Higher Law Studies (1969) and at the Ecole Nationale de la Magistrature (1971-1973), Mr. Field was Deputy State Attorney in Versailles (1973-1979) and then First Deputy for the State Attorney in Paris, Financial Section (1981-1985).
