Eric Singer

Thinh Tran

Mr. Thinh Q. Tran is President and Chief Executive Officer of Sigma Designs Inc. He resigned as Chairman of the Board of the Company, effective June 11, 2012. Prior to joining the company, Mr. Tran was employed by Amdahl Corporation and Trilogy Systems Corporation, both of which were involved in the IBM-compatible mainframe computer market. As President and Chief Executive Officer, a position he has held for over 30 years, Mr. Tran has knowledge of business, products and operations.

Elias Nader

Mr. Elias N. Nader is appointed as the Interim Chief Financial Officer of Sigma Designs, Inc. He has served as corporate controller for the Company since October 2012. Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Nader served as a chief financial officer consultant with various companies in Europe and the Middle East from October 2011 to September 2012. From June 2010 to September 2011, Mr. Nader served as group chief financial officer with Imperial Jet, a VIP business aircraft company based in Europe and the Middle East. From June 2005 to June 2010, Mr. Nader served as corporate controller at Dionex Corporation, a chromotagraphy company based in Sunnyvale, California.

Sal Cobar

Mr. Sal Cobar is Vice President - Worldwide Sales and Business Development of Sigma Designs Inc., since April 2010. From May 2002 to April 2010, Mr. Cobar served as the Vice President of Worldwide Sales for Silicon Image, a developer of secure cores for high definition displays, where he founded the HDMI business for the television, set-top box, PC and AVR markets, drove design wins, penetrated consumer electronic markets and played a fundamental role in driving the company’s growth.

Maury Austin

Mr. Maury Austin is no longer Director of Sigma Designs Inc., effective July 26, 2013. He has more than 25 years of corporate finance experience in senior executive positions at established technology companies. He currently serves as a strategic advisor for technology-oriented businesses. From March 2008 to December 2011, Mr. Austin served as Chief Financial Officer of MIPS Technologies, Inc., a publicly traded provider of processor architectures and cores for digital home, networking and mobile applications. Mr. Austin previously served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Portal Software, Inc. from June 2005 until its acquisition and integration into Oracle Corporation in November 2006. Mr. Austin presently serves on the board of directors of Extreme Networks, Inc., a technology leader in high-performance Ethernet switching for cloud, data center and mobile networks. From 2004 to 2005, Mr. Austin served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Southwall Technologies. Prior to his employment with Southwall Technologies, Inc., Mr. Austin was Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Vicinity Corporation from 2000 until its acquisition by Microsoft Corporation in 2003. Mr. Austin also has held executive positions at Apple Inc., Symmetricom, Inc., FlashPoint and General Electric Co. Mr. Austin holds a B.S. in Business Administration (Finance & Marketing) from the University of California, Berkeley and an MBA from Santa Clara University.

Lung Tsai

Mr. Lung C. Tsai is no longer Independent Director of Sigma Designs Inc., effective July 26, 2013. He is one of the co-founders of MechanicNet Group, Inc., a software company serving the automotive aftermarket and other professional industry, and has served as its Chairman and Chief Executive Officer since 1999. Prior to MechanicNet Group, Inc., Mr. Tsai co-founded Internet Image, a Java solutions company for online software deployment and served as its Chief Executive Officer from 1993 until its acquisition by Intraware, Inc. in 1999. Previously, Mr. Tsai co-founded and served as Vice President of Operations and Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Destiny Technology Corp., a laser printer controller firmware development company from 1987 to 1993. Prior to Destiny Technology Corp, Mr. Tsai served as Vice President of System Development for Mellon Bank and a systems officer for Bank of America.
