Name Description

Iain Lo

Mr. Iain John Lo serves as Non-Independent Non-Executive Chairman of the Board of Shell Refining Company (Fed of Malaya) Bhd since July 1, 2012. He has Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in 1987 and Master of Science in Civil Engineering from UCLA in 1988. Iain joined Shell in 1990 and began his Shell career as a field engineer in Exploration and Production in Miri, Malaysia. He undertook a wide variety of front-end engineering, economics and corporate roles in exploration and production in Malaysia before moving to Shell EP International Ventures in The Hague in 1996, where he was responsible for developing opportunities in North East Asian pipelines. In 1998, Iain moved to Gas and Power, where he was General Manager for LNG joint ventures in Malaysia, based in Kuala Lumpur. He then moved to Singapore as General Manager for commercial governance of the Sakhalin joint venture. In 2005, Iain was appointed Senior Regional Advisor for Shell’s businesses in the Asia Pacific region, based in The Hague. He joined Shell Chemicals as Vice President APME Ventures and Developments in 2006, based in Singapore, and became Vice President New Business Development and Ventures in 2009. Iain was appointed a Board Member to the Singapore Economic Development Board in 2009. He is chair of the Asian Talent Council and personally committed to strengthening the pipeline of Asian talent.

Amir Hamzah Bin Abu Bakar

Mr. Amir Hamzah Bin Abu Bakar serves as Managing Director and Executive Director of Shell Refining Company (Federation of Malaya) Bhd since April 2, 2014. He holds a Bachelor of Science (Honors) in Manufacturing Engineering (Chemical) from the Swinburne Institute of Technology (now Swinburne University of Technology), Melbourne, Australia in 1990 and a Masters of Business Administration from Nottingham Trent University, United Kingdom in 2004. He began his career with Hoechst Australia Limited in 1990 as Project Engineer. Subsequently, he joined Lotte Chemicals Titan (Malaysia) from 1991 to 2006, holding various roles including Senior Manager, Unit Manager, Production Manager, Senior Production Engineer, Process Engineer and Project Engineer. In January 2007, he was appointed as Works Director for Lotte Chemical Titan, Indonesia and in September 2008, he served as Vice President, Strategic Projects for Lotte Chemical Titan (Malaysia). He joined Shell Eastern Petroleum Limited (Singapore) in March 2009 as Regional Business Improvement Leader (East) and thereafter as the Production Manager of Shell Jurong Island (Singapore).

Mr. Isham Ismail serves as Manager - Human Resource at Shell Refining Company (Federation of Malaya) Berhad. He has BA (Hons) Management at Universiti Sains Malaysia. He joined Shell in 1993.

Talaat bin Husain

Y. Bhg. Dato’ Seri Talaat Bin Husain serves as Senior Independent Non-Executive Director at Shell Refining Company (Federation of Malaya) Berhad since June 1, 2007. He is a Member of Audit Committee and Nominating Committee and Chairman of Remuneration Committee. Dato‘ Seri Talaat obtained his early education at the Malay College Kuala Kangsar. He holds a Bachelor of Social Sciences (Political Science) from University of Science Malaysia, a Masters in Professional Studies (International Planning) from Cornell University, USA, and attended the Executive Program at London Business School and Harvard Business School. He has served the Malaysian Government for 34 years with his first appointment as an Assistant State Secretary in Penang in 1973. Since then, he has had stints in the Prime Minister's Department, National Institute for Public Administration, the National Palace and the Ministry of Education. He has also served as Mayor of Ipoh City before assuming the position of Secretary General of the Ministry of Youth and Sports and prior to his retirement, he held the position of Secretary General of the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs. He has led the national delegation to SEAMEO, Commonwealth, UNESCO and unilateral meetings. During his tenure in the government, he also held the positions of Chairman of Companies Commission of Malaysia, and also Board Member of Malaysian Intellectual Property Corporation and Sepang International Circuit. He is also an Independent Director of Silver Bird Group Berhad, Konsortium Logistik Berhad and Mizuho Bank Corporation Malaysia and is currently a Board Member of Outward Bound Trust of Malaysia.

Zainun Aishah Binti Ahmad

Y. Bhg. Datuk Zainun Aishah binti Ahmad serves as Independent Non-Executive Director at Shell Refining Company (Federation of Malaya) Berhad since June 1, 2010. She is the Chairman of Nominating Committee and Member of Audit and Remuneration Committees. She graduated from University of Malaya with a degree in Economics. She began her career with Malaysian Industrial Development Authority (MIDA), the Malaysian government's principal agency for the promotion and coordination of industrial development in the country where she worked for 35 years. In her years of service, she held various positions in MIDA, as well as in some of the country's councils, including as National Project Director in the formulation of Malaysia's first Industrial Master Plan. She was the Director General of MIDA for nine years after being the Deputy Director General for 11 years. She was a Director of Tenaga Nasional Berhad, Kulim Hi-Tech Park and Malayan Banking Berhad. Currently, she is a Director in five other public listed companies, namely Scomi Engineering Bhd, Microlink Solutions Berhad, Degem Bhd, Berjaya Media Berhad and Berjaya Food Berhad. She also sits as Chairman of Pernec Corporation Bhd.

Yvonne Chia

Y. Bhg. Datuk Yvonne Chia is Independent Non-Executive Director of Shell Refining Company (Fed of Malaya) Bhd. She has Bachelor of Economics and Analytical Economics. Datuk Yvonne Chia began her career with Bank of America and has held various roles in Malaysia and Asia Region. She was the former Group Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Hong Leong Bank Berhad until 30 June 2013. In addition to her leadership at Hong Leong Bank, she also served as a Director of Hong Leong Financial Group, Hong Leong Bank Berhad and Hong Leong Islamic Bank Berhad. She was the Chairman of AFC Merchant Bank Limited until 30 June 2013. She has also served as the Chief Executive Officer of RHB Bank Berhad from 1996 to 2002.

Nai Pek Lau

Choo Boon Saw

Dato' Saw Choo Boon serves as Independent Non-Executive Director of Shell Refining Company (Federation of Malaya) Berhad since February 24, 2011. He has Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from University of Malaya. He was Company's Non-Independent Non-Executive Director from February 23, 2006 to May 18, 2006, and Non-Independent Non-Executive Chairman of the Board from May 18, 2006 to May 12, 2010. He joined Shell in 1970 as a Refinery Technologist. He then served in various capacities in manufacturing, supply, trading and planning in Malaysia, Singapore and the Netherlands. In 1996, he was appointed Managing Director of Shell MDS (Malaysia) Sendirian Berhad. In 1998 to 1999, he assumed the positions of Managing Director for Oil Products (Downstream) Shell Malaysia and Managing Director of the Company. In 1999, with the globalisation of the Shell Oil Products business, he was appointed the Vice President of the Commercial business in the Asia-Pacific region, and in 2004, he became the President of Shell Oil Products East. In 2005, he managed Shell’s global marine business. Currently, he is an Independent Director of Digi.Com Berhad, RHB Capital Berhad and RHB Investment Bank Berhad.
