 Mr. Duarte Paulo Teixeira de Azevedo has served as Non-Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sonaecom SGPS SA since 2007. He is Chairman of the Nominating and Remuneration Committee of the Company. He has been Member of the Board of Directors of the Company since September 1998. He was Chief Executive Officer of the Company from 2000 to 2007 and Chief Executive Officer of Optimus between 1998 and 2000. He also serves as Chief Executive Officer of Sonae SGPS SA. He served as Member of the Board of Directors of Efanor Investimentos SGPS SA, Imparfin SGPS SA, Imparvi SGPS SA, Migracom SGPS SA, Sonae Capital SGPS SA, Sonae Distribuicao SGPS SA, Sonae Industria SGPS SA and Sonae Sierra SGPS SA. He has been Member of the Advisory Board Compromisso Portugal since 2004. He acted as President of Apritel - Association of Telecommunication Operators in 2001 and he is Founding Member of EGP - Porto Business School since 2000. He obtained a degree in Chemical Engineering from Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne in 1986 and an MBA degree from EGP Business School - Universidade do Porto in 1989.
