Name Description

Scott Lang

Mr. Scott A. Lang is Chairman of the Board, President, Chief Executive Officer of Silver Spring Networks, Inc., since September 2004. Prior to joining the company, from 1988 to 2004 Mr. Lang worked at Perot Systems, a provider of information technology services and business solutions, most recently as Vice President of the Strategic Markets Group. Mr. Lang holds a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Mississippi with a minor in Computer Science, and was a graduate of the Advanced Executive Program from The Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. As President and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Lang is the general manager of entire business, directing management team to achieve strategic, financial and operating goals.

John Joyce

Mr. John R. Joyce is Vice Chairman of the Board, Executive Vice President of Silver Spring Networks, Inc. He served as Chief Financial Officer of the Company. Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Joyce served as a Managing Director at Silver Lake, a private equity firm, from July 2005 to July 2010. From 1975 to July 2005, he served in multiple roles for IBM, a global technology firm, including Senior Vice President and Group Executive of the IBM Global Services division, Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, President of IBM Asia Pacific and Vice President and Controller for IBM’s global operations. Mr. Joyce was previously a director of Avago Technologies Limited, Hewlett-Packard Company and Gartner Inc. Mr. Joyce holds a B.A. from Montclair State University and holds an M.B.A. from Fairleigh Dickinson University.

James Burns

Mr. James P. Burns is Chief Financial Officer, Executive Vice President of Silver Spring Networks, Inc. Mr. Burns has served as our Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer since September 2013. From October 2012 until August 2013, Mr. Burns worked as an independent consultant. From 1988 until October 2012, Mr. Burns served in multiple roles at Hewlett-Packard Company, an information technology company, most recently as Chief Operating Officer and Senior Vice President of Operations for the Enterprise Services division from July 2011 until October 2012 and Chief Financial Officer and Vice President for the Enterprise Business division from May 2010 until June 2011. Mr. Burns holds a B.S. in Accounting from Santa Clara University.

Amy Cappellanti-Wolf

Ms. Amy L. Cappellanti-Wolf is Chief Human Resource Officer of Silver Spring Networks, Inc., since June 2009. From September 2001 to June 2009, Ms. Cappellanti-Wolf served as Vice President, Human Resources of Cisco Systems, Inc., a networking company. From 2000 to 2001, she served as a Human Resources Director at Sun Microsystems, Inc. Ms. Cappellanti-Wolf served as Human Resources Director for The Walt Disney Company from 1995 to 2000 and held various roles in human resources with Frito-Lay, Inc., a division of PepsiCo, Inc., from 1988 to 1995. Anil Gadre

Mr. Anil P. Gadre is Executive Vice President - Products, Chief Marketing Officer of Silver Spring Networks, Inc., January 2013. He served as Executive Vice President, Product Management from November 2011 to January 2013 and Vice President, Product Management from June 2011 to October 2011. Mr. Gadre was an independent strategic marketing consultant from February 2010 to June 2011. Prior to that, Mr. Gadre served in various capacities at Sun Microsystems, Inc. prior to its acquisition by Oracle Corporation, including from April 1999 to May 2002 as Vice President and General Manager of Solaris Software, from May 2002 to November 2004 as Vice President, Software Marketing, from November 2004 to November 2008 as Executive Vice President, Chief Marketing Officer, and from November 2008 to February 2010 as Executive Vice President, Applications Platform Software. Mr. Gadre holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University and a Masters of Management from Northwestern University, Kellogg School of Management.

Daniel Middleton

Mr. Daniel J. Middleton is Executive Vice President - Sales of Silver Spring Networks, Inc., since October 2012. Previously served as Senior Vice President, Accounts and Brazil Executive Sponsor, from September 2009 to October 2012 and as Vice President, Sales, from January 2007 to September 2009. From February 2006 to December 2006, Mr. Middleton served as the Vice President, Ethernet Solutions at Alcatel-Lucent, a telecommunications equipment company, and, from December 2004 to January 2006, served as General Manager and Senior Vice President, Americas, for Riverstone Networks, Inc., a networking hardware company, which was acquired by Alcatel-Lucent in September 2006. Prior to that, Mr. Middleton served in multiple leadership roles at Nortel Networks from June 1994 to August 2004, including Vice President, EMEA Enterprise Division, from July 2002 to August 2004. Mr. Middleton holds a B.M.E. from The Georgia Institute of Technology and holds an M.B.A. from Duke University Fuqua School of Business.

Eric Dresselhuys

Mr. Eric P. Dresselhuys is Executive Vice President - Global Development of Silver Spring Networks, Inc., since November 2011. From 1997 to 2002, Mr. Dresselhuys was Vice President, Sales and Marketing for Innovatec Corporation, a provider of Advanced Metering and related systems. Prior to joining Innovatec, Mr. Dresselhuys worked at Procter & Gamble, where he held a variety of sales and marketing positions, including corporate sales teams and managing new product introductions for the Household Cleaning division. He holds a B.S. in Economics from the University of Wisconsin, Madison.

Donald Reeves

Mr. Donald L. Reeves, III, is Executive Vice President - Smart Grid Services and Operations of Silver Spring Networks, Inc., since November 2012. Previously served as our Senior Vice President, Smart Grid Services from October 2011 to November 2012 and as our Vice President, Smart Grid Services from June 2010 to October 2011, Vice President, Solution Services from January 2009 to June 2010, Vice President, Software from October 2006 to January 2009, and Director of Software Engineering from February 2005 to October 2006. From August 2003 to October 2004, Mr. Reeves served as Vice President, Engineering of Black Pearl, Inc., a provider of decision management software. From March 2001 to August 2003, he served as Vice President, Application Engineering of Commerce One, Inc., a provider of e-commerce solutions. Prior to Commerce One, Mr. Reeves managed the software development organizations at a pair of start-up companies, MyTurn.com, Inc. and GlobalPC Inc., providers of personal computers, from August 1998 to February 2001. From December 1990 to August 1998, Mr. Reeves held various engineering positions at Geoworks Corporation, a provider of operating systems, applications and wireless online services. Mr. Reeves holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences from the University of California, Berkeley.

Raj Vaswani

Mr. Raj Vaswani is Chief Technology Officer of Silver Spring Networks, Inc., since February 2006. Previously served as Vice President, Product Development from November 2003 until February 2006. From April 2001 to December 2001 and again from January 2003 to October 2003, Mr. Vaswani was an Entrepreneur in Residence with Foundation Capital, LLC, a venture capital firm. He served as Vice President of Engineering at Epinions.com, a consumer-oriented website company from September 1999 to April 2001. From March 1996 to September 1999, Mr. Vaswani was Senior Scientist and Director of Engineering for the At Home Corporation. He holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley and an M.S. in Computer Science from the University of Washington.

C. Douglas Andrews

Mr. C. Douglas Andrews is appointed as Chief Accounting Officer, Controller and Principal Accounting Officer of Silver Spring Networks, Inc., effective June 16, 2014. From January 2014 until June 2014, Mr. Andrews served as Vice President, Worldwide Controller at Fortinet, Inc., a provider of network security solutions. From June 2007 through December 2013, he served as Controller at Volterra Semiconducter, a semiconductor company, which was acquired by Maxim Integrated Products, Inc. in October 2013. Mr. Andrews holds a B.B.A. in Business Administration from Simon Fraser-University.

Richard Arnold

Mr. Richard S. Arnold, Jr., is General Counsel, Secretary of Silver Spring Networks, Inc., since February 2013. From February 2005 to February 2013, Mr. Arnold served in multiple roles at Hewlett-Packard Company, an information technology company, most recently as Vice President and Associate General Counsel from July 2009 until his departure. Prior to that, Mr. Arnold was an attorney at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati from 1999 to 2005. Warren Weiss

Mr. Warren M. Weiss is Lead Independent Director of Silver Spring Networks, Inc. He has served as a director since November 2003 and as Lead Director since February 2011. Mr. Weiss has been a general partner of Foundation Capital, LLC, since October 2002. From July 2002 to October 2002, Mr. Weiss worked as an independent consultant, and from November 1999 to July 2002, he was the President and Chief Executive Officer at Asera Inc., a real-time software solutions provider. Mr. Weiss also serves as a board member of several private companies. Mr. Weiss holds a B.S. in Law Enforcement from Western Illinois University.

Thomas Kuhn

Mr. Thomas R. Kuhn is Independent Director of Silver Spring Networks, Inc., since February 2005. Since 1990 Mr. Kuhn has served as the President of the Edison Electric Institute. Mr. Kuhn also serves as a board member of a private company. Mr. Kuhn holds a B.A. in Economics from Yale University and an M.B.A. from George Washington University. Mr. Jonathan Schwartz is Independent Director of Silver Spring Networks, Inc., since April 2011. Since April 2010, Mr. Schwartz has served as Chief Executive Officer of Care Zone, Inc. From 1996 to February 2010, Mr. Schwartz served in various capacities at Sun Microsystems, Inc. prior to its acquisition by Oracle Corporation, including from April 2006 to February 2010 as Chief Executive Officer and a member of the board of directors. Prior to working at Sun, Mr. Schwartz was the founder, President and Chief Executive Officer of Lighthouse Design, Ltd., a software company, which was acquired by Sun in 1996, and he began his career with McKinsey & Company, Inc. Mr. Schwartz served as a director of Taleo Corporation, a software company, from August 2010 to April 2012 and is currently a board member of Moxie Software Inc., a software company. Mr. Schwartz holds a B.A. in Mathematics and Economics from Wesleyan University.

Richard Simonson

Mr. Richard A. Simonson is Independent Director of Silver Spring Networks, Inc., since October 2009. From April 2011 until May 2012, Mr. Simonson served as Chief Financial Officer and President, Business Operations of Rearden Commerce, Inc., an e-commerce company. From November 2009 to June 2010, Mr. Simonson has served as Executive Vice President and head of the mobile phones and strategic sourcing devices unit of Nokia Corporation. From January 2004 until November 2009, Mr. Simonson served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Nokia and from September 2001 until January 2004, Mr. Simonson served as Vice President & Head of Customer Finance of Nokia. He was a Managing Director in the Telecom & Media Investment Banking Group of Barclays Capital from January 2001 to September 2001. Prior to joining Barclays Capital, Mr. Simonson spent 16 years at Bank of America Securities where he held various positions, including Managing Director & Head of Global Project Finance, Global Corporate & Investment Bank in San Francisco and Chicago. Mr. Simonson also serves as a board member of Electronic Arts Inc. Mr. Simonson holds a B.S. degree from the Colorado School of Mines and an M.B.A. from Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.

Laura Tyson

Dr. Laura D. Tyson is Independent Director of Silver Spring Networks, Inc., since June 2009. Dr. Tyson has been the S. K. and Angela Chan Professor of Global Management at the Walter A. Haas School of Business, University of California at Berkeley since July 2008 and a Professor of Business Administration and Economics at the Walter A. Haas School of Business, University of California at Berkeley since January 2007. She was Dean of London Business School, London, England, from January 2002 until December 2006 and the Dean of the Walter A. Haas School of Business at the University of California at Berkeley from July 1998 to December 2001. Dr. Tyson served as Professor of Economics and Business Administration at the University of California at Berkeley from 1997 to 1998. She served as National Economic Adviser to the President of the United States from 1995 to 1996 and as Chair of the White House Council of Economic Advisers from 1993 to 1995. Dr. Tyson also serves as a board member of AT&T Inc. and Morgan Stanley & Co. LLC. Dr. Tyson served as a director of Eastman Kodak Company from May 1997 until December 2011. Dr. Tyson holds a B.A. in Economics from Smith College and a Ph.D. in Economics from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Peter Van Camp

Mr. Peter F. Van Camp is Independent Director of Silver Spring Networks, Inc., since November 2013. Since April 2007, Mr. Van Camp has served as Executive Chairman of Equinix, Inc., a global data center company, where he also served as Chief Executive Officer from May 2000 to April 2007. From January 1997 to May 2000, Mr. Van Camp was employed at UUNET, the Internet division of MCI (formerly known as WorldCom), where he served as President of Internet Markets and as President of the Americas region. During the period from May 1995 to January 1997, Mr. Van Camp was President of Compuserve Network Services, an Internet access provider. Before holding this position, Mr. Van Camp held various positions at Compuserve, Inc. during the period from October 1982 to May 1995. He also served as a director of Packeteer, Inc., a public company, previously during the past five years. Mr. Van Camp holds a B.S. in Accounting with a concentration in Computer Science from Boston College.

Thomas Werner

Mr. Thomas H. Werner is Independent Director of Silver Spring Networks, Inc., since March 2009. Mr. Werner has served as the President and Chief Executive Officer and a member of Board of Directors of SunPower Corporation since June 2003 and was appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors in May 2011. Prior to joining SunPower Corporation, Mr. Werner served as Chief Executive Officer of Silicon Light Machines, Inc., an optical solutions subsidiary of Cypress Semiconductor Corporation. From 1998 to 2001, Mr. Werner was Vice President and General Manager of the Business Connectivity Group of 3Com Corp., a network solutions company.
