Name Description

Asue Ighodalo

Mr. Asue Ighodalo has served as Non-Executive Chairman of the Board of STERLING BANK PLC since July 2014. He is a Partner in Banwo & Ighodalo, a leading corporate and commercial law firm in Nigeria, which he founded in partnership in 1991. His core practice areas are corporate finance, capital markets, mergers and acquisitions, banking and securities, foreign investments and divestments, energy and natural resources, privatization and project finance. A product of the prestigious Kings College, Lagos, Asue obtained a Bachelor of Science degree (BSc) in Economics from the University of Ibadan in 1981, LL.B in 1984 from London School of Economics and a BL in 1985 from the Nigerian Law School, Lagos. A member of several professional associations, Asue sits on the board of several public and private companies. He was appointed a Non-Executive Director of Sterling Bank in May 2, 2014, and subsequently as Non-Executive Chairman in July 8, 2014.

Adeyemi Adeola

Mr. Adeyemi Razack (Yemi) Adeola has served as Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Executive Director of STERLING BANK PLC since December 2007. Joining the Bank in December 22, 2005, he has over 25 years of experience spanning banking and finance, law, corporate consulting and academia. Prior to his appointment as Managing Director Sterling Bank PLC, he served as Executive Director, Corporate and Commercial Banking between January 2006 and November 2007. He joined Nigeria International Bank (Citibank Nigeria) in 1988 and served in various capacities from Chief Legal Counsel to Head, Public & External Affairs. In 1998, he was appointed to the board of directors as an Executive Director, a position he held until June 2003 when he left Citibank Nigeria to pursue a turn-around assignment as Deputy Managing Director of Trust Bank of Africa Limited. His external directorships include Sterling Capital Markets and Sterling Asset Management & Trustees. He was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1983. Yemi Adeola holds a Bachelor of Law (LLB) degree from the University of Ife and Master of Law (LLM) degree (with specialization in law of secured credit transactions, comparative company law and international economics law) from the University of Lagos, Nigeria. He is an alumnus of Harvard Business School, Stanford Business School, Said Business School of the University of Oxford, and The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He is a John F. Kennedy Scholar. He is Member of the Board Credit Committee, Member of the Board Finance and General Purpose Committee, Member of the Board Governance and Nominations Committee, and Member of the Board Risk Management Committee of the Company.

Abubakar Suleiman

Mr. Abubakar Suleiman has served as Executive Director, Finance and Strategy/Chief Finance Officer of STERLING BANK PLC since April 28, 2014. He started his banking career as a Management Associate in MBC International Bank (now part of First Bank Plc) in 1998. In 2000, he moved to Citibank Nigeria where he worked in roles covering asset and liability management and market risk management. Between 2003 and 2011, he served as Treasurer (in Trust Bank of Africa and subsequently Sterling Bank) before being appointed integration Director to deliver the seamless merger with the former Equitorial Trust Bank. Upon successful completion of this assignment, he was appointed Chief Financial Officer of the Bank, responsible for finance and performance management, strategy and communications and human resource management. Abubakar has also been instrumental in laying a solid foundation for the Retail and Non-Interest Banking businesses. He holds a B Sc in Economics from the University of Abuja and an M Sc in major programs management from Said Business School of the University of Oxford. He is also an alumnus of Arthur Andersen Formation Institute (KPMG Nigeria) and The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He is Member of the Board Finance and General Purpose Committee and Member of the Board Governance and Nominations Committee of the Company.

Yemi Odubiyi

Mr. Yemi Odubiyi has served as Executive Director, Operations and Services/Chief Operating Officer of STERLING BANK PLC since December 2014. Between March 2012 and December 2014, he served as Chief Operating Officer within the Company. He studied at the University of Lagos and holds a first degree in Estate Management (1994) as well as a Master in International Law degree from the same institution. He started his banking career in Citigroup’s Nigeria unit in 1995 as an Operations & Technology Generalist serving stints across all its Operations and Technology functions. He left Citi to join the turnaround team of the then Trust Bank of Africa in 2003 as Head of Operations & Technology. Upon the consolidation of Trust Bank into Sterling Bank Plc, Yemi served as pioneer Group Head, Trade Services. In 2008, he was mandated to build the Structured Finance Group and he also assumed oversight for Corporate Strategy serving as Chief Strategy Officer.

Raheem Owodeyi

Mr. Raheem Owodeyi serves as Chief Compliance and Internal Control Officer of STERLING BANK PLC. Raheem’s banking career spans over 19 years with great experience in audit, risk management and control. He has worked in leadership capacities at various Banks including Access Bank Plc and Citibank. Prior to joining Sterling Bank Plc, he was Chief Inspector at Aso Savings & Loans.

Adegboyega Adegun

Mr. Adegboyega Adelani (Gboyega) Adegun serves as General Manager, Corporate Banking of STERLING BANK PLC. Gboyega has 28 years experience in Banking and Accounting. A member of the Institute of Chartered Accountant of Nigeria (ICAN), his banking career started in First Bank of Nigeria before joining Magnum Trust Bank, which merged with four other banks to form Sterling Bank Plc.

Tunde Adeola

Mr. Tunde Adeola serves as General Manager, Lagos Mainland Division of STERLING BANK PLC. Tunde has over 24 years professional experience spanning banking and discount house operations. Prior to his current role, he was responsible for the Bank’s Lagos Island 2 Regional business. A lawyer by training, he has worked variously at the erstwhile Liberty Bank Plc, Kakawa Discount House Limited and the Trust Bank of Africa, which merged with four other banks to form Sterling Bank Plc.

Mojisola Bakare

Ms. Mojisola (Moji) Bakare serves as General Manager, Corporate Banking of STERLING BANK PLC. Moji’s robust banking experience spans Treasury, Operations and Marketing roles. She started her career in Equitorial Trust Bank with responsibilities for Transaction Services and Treasury. She has led the Corporate Banking team since joining Sterling Bank in 2011.

Olanrewaju Adesanya

Mr. Olanrewaju Olugbenga (Lanre) Adesanya has served as Executive Director, Commercial and Institutional Banking of STERLING BANK PLC since January 2006. He started his banking career in 1987 as a Credit and Marketing Officer in Nigbel Merchant Bank Ltd (NBML) and was subsequently appointed pioneer manager for the Port Harcourt branch in 1991. He rapidly moved up the rungs of the organization to become the General Manager overseeing the Port Harcourt and Abuja regions in December 2000. Subsequently, his responsibilities were expanded to cover Public Sector Banking and Management Services. In 2003, he assumed the role of Executive Director and Chief Marketing Officer of the bank from where he became the Managing Director. He has attended executive training programs and has over 21 years banking experience. His external directorships include Sterling Asset Management & Trustees. He joined the Company in December 22, 2005. He obtained a B Sc and M Sc in Economics, both from the University of Lagos, Nigeria. Mudathir Lawal

Mr. Mudathir Omokayode (Kayode) Lawal has served as Executive Director, Corporate and Investment Banking of STERLING BANK PLC since April 28, 2014. He started his career with NBM Bank where he worked from 1987 until 2005. During this period, he excelled in various marketing roles and was subsequently appointed as the bank’s Treasurer. Following the consolidation exercise and the emergence of Sterling Bank in 2006, he was again assigned to marketing, to head various regions in Lagos, a testament to the confidence placed in his abilities on the field. He is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and has professional qualifications from the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN) and Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN). He is also an alumnus of the Lagos Business School, Columbia University Graduate School of Business and University of Oxford. He is Member of the Board Credit Committee and Member of the Board Risk Management Committee of the Company.

Grama Narasimhan

Mr. Grama Narasimhan has served as Executive Director, Retail and Consumer Banking of STERLING BANK PLC since January 2015. He obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree (First Class) from Bangalore University, Karnataka, India in 1982. He started his banking career as an Officer with State Bank of India (SBI) in 1989. He has held senior positions in Credit/Advances, International Banking and Branch Operations. He is a Certified Associate of the prestigious India Institute of Bankers. Yinka Adeola

Mr. Yinka Abdulwaheed Adeola has served as Non-Executive Director of STERLING BANK PLC since December 22, 2005. He is a trained economist and a banker with over 25 years in the Nigerian Banking Industry. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science (1979) and a Master of Science (1987) Degree in Economics from the University of Lagos. He started his banking career at the CBN where he rose to the position of an Assistant Manager in 1988. He later joined Pacific Bank Ltd as a Manager and became the MD/CEO of the bank in 1998. He joined Trust Bank of Africa as the MD/CEO in 2003; a position he held until his recent appointment as a Director in Sterling Bank. His external directorships include Sterling Asset Management & Trustees, and SBG Insurance Brokers. He also serves as Member of the Board Credit Committee, Member of the Board Finance and General Purpose Committee, and Member of the Statutory Audit Committee of the Company. Egbichi Akinsanya

Mrs. Egbichi Akinsanya has served as Non-Executive Director of STERLING BANK PLC since March 2, 2015. She holds a Bachelor Degree in Economics & Public Administration from Bedford College (Now Holloway College) University of London, the professional qualifications of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries & Administrators UK (ICSA); and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN). Her work experience spans both the public and private sectors; having worked with the Securities & Exchange Commission Nigeria (SEC) for over 11 years, Citibank Nigeria for four years, British American Tobacco for five years and Private Venture Capital initiative (FBC Beverages Company Limited) for six years.

Olaitan Kajero

Mr. Olaitan Kajero has served as Non-Executive Director of STERLING BANK PLC since August 27, 2014. Mr. Kajero is presently the Managing Director of STB Building Society Limited, a position he has held since 2006. He started his career as Finance and Admin Manager at Communication Associates of Nigeria Limited in 1997. He went on to serve as General Manager and Group Chief Operating Officer in Aircom Nigeria Limited between 2001 and 2006, where he was responsible for General Business Development and managing the day-to-day activities of the Company. Raghavan Karthikeyan

Mr. Raghavan Karthikeyan has served as Non-Executive Director of STERLING BANK PLC since February 26, 2014. Mr. Karthikeyan is presently the Chief General Manager, International banking in State Bank of India (SBI), Mumbai and is a certified Associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers (CAIIB). He joined SBI in 1980 and has worked in various capacities across several aspects of banking before assuming his current role. He was the chief General Manager, Corporate, Strategy and New Businesses. Olufunmilola Osunsade

Ms. Olufunmilola Adedolapo Osunsade has served as Non-Executive Director of STERLING BANK PLC since March 2012. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Lagos and a Masters degree in Business Administration from Enugu State University of Technology, Enugu. She has well over two decades of professional experience, including 15 years as in the financial services industry. She is an Associate member of both the Institute of Cost Administrators and Nigeria Institute of Management. She is a member of Ikoyi Club 1938, Money Market Association and Lagos Motor Boat club. She has attended several management courses within and outside Nigeria. She is Chairman of the Board Finance and General Purpose Committee, Member of the Board Governance and Nominations Committee, and Member of the Board Risk Management Committee of the Company.

Tairat Tijani

Mrs. Tairat Tijani has served as Non-Executive Director of STERLING BANK PLC since November 14, 2014. Mrs. Tijani graduated from Lancaster University with Honors in Accounting, Finance and Economics. She also graduated with a distinction in MBA, International Business from the University of Birmingham. She is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria. Mrs. Tijani has garnered significant experience as an operator in the capital market, participating in several landmark transactions which have contributed immensely towards the development of the Nigerian Capital Market. She was formerly the Head, Capital Markets Division of FBN Capital (a subsidiary of FBN Holdings Plc, formerly First Bank of Nigeria Plc) where she had oversight responsibility for deal origination and transaction execution.

Omolara Akanji

Dr. Omolara Akanji, MON, has served as Independent Director of STERLING BANK PLC since February 26, 2014. She is currently a member of the Petroleum Revenue Special Task Force. Her early career started with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) in 1978 as an Assistant Economist. She rose through the ranks and retired in December 2007 as Director, Trade and Exchange Department. She also served as a Consultant to the CBN between 2008 and 2011. She holds a BSc in Agricultural Economics from the University of Ibadan, an MSc in Agricultural Economics from the University of Reading, a diploma in statistics from the University of Kent, Mathematical Institute, and a PhD in Finance from the European-American University, Commonwealth of Dominica. She is Chairman of the Board Credit Committee, Member of the Board Governance and Nominations Committee, Member of the Board Risk Management Committee, and Member of the Board Audit Committee of the Company.

Aderemi Kolarinwa

Mr. Aderemi Rasheed Kolarinwa has served as Independent Director of STERLING BANK PLC since June 16, 2010. He graduated from the University of Toronto with Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics. He also obtained a Masters degree in Business Administration from the Schulich School of Business, York University, Toronto, Canada. His banking industry career spans three decades. He served as the deputy Managing Director of IBTC Chartered Bank Plc (now Stanbic IBTC Bank Plc) from December 2005 to December 2007. He is currently the Chairman of Capiflex Management Limited. He is Member of the Board Credit Committee, Member of the Board Governance and Nominations Committee, Member of the Board Risk Management Committee, and Chairman of the Board Audit Committee of the Company.

Tamarakare Yekwe

Ms. Tamarakare Yekwe, MON, has served as Independent Director of STERLING BANK PLC since February 26, 2014. Ms. Yekwe is currently the Principal Partner at Kare Yekwe & Co. (Legal Practitioners and Consultants). Prior to this, she was a member of the governing council for the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs (NIIA) and the Presidential Technical Committee on Housing and Urban Development. In addition to being the pioneer Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Bayelsa State, Ms. Yekwe served as a Director in a number of institutions including the Federal Savings Bank of Nigeria, the Continental Merchant Bank of Nigeria Plc, the International Merchant Bank Plc and the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria.
