Name Description

Iain Ferguson

Mr. Iain G. T. Ferguson, CBE, has been appointed as Chairman of the Board of Stobart Group Limited effective October 1, 2013. He is Chairman of Berendsen plc and a Non-Executive Director on the Boards of Balfour Beatty plc and Gregg's plc. He was CEO of Tate & Lyle plc from May 2003 until the end of 2009 having previously been with Unilever for 26 years following graduation from St Andrews University. Iain is Chairman of Wilton Park (FCO Agency), the Lead Non-Executive Director for Defra, a member of the Better Regulation Strategy Group (BIS) and the Honorary Vice-President of the British Nutrition Foundation. In the past he has been a member of the PWC (UK LLP) Advisory Board (2009-2011), President of The Food and Drink Federation (FDF) and of the Institute of Grocery Distribution (IGD), a member of the Council of Food Policy Advisors (Defra) and The Foresight Global Food and Farming Project and a Non-Executive Director on the Boards of Companies House, Rothamsted Research and Sygen plc.

Andrew Tinkler

Mr. Andrew Tinkler is Chief Executive Officer, Executive Director of Stobart Group Limited. Andrew Tinkler’s first involvement with the Eddie Stobart business was as a friend of the Stobart sons and an occasional cleaner of trucks for the company as a teenager. He later served his apprenticeship as a cabinet maker and went self employed in the mid-1980s, forming WA Tinkler Building Contractors, in Carlisle. Following a series of contracts the company became WA Developments with a start-up turnover of some £600,000 a year. WA Developments became a thriving and hugely business, completing civil engineering and railway infrastructure contracts across the UK and in Europe. By the late 1990s the company’s turnover had grown to more than £20 million a year and Andrew’s old friend William Stobart joined the business as a shareholding director in 2001. Soon, Andrew took a renewed interest in the Eddie Stobart business, and with William Stobart, acquired the company in 2004, immediately becoming CEO. The Stobart Group is different today to the Eddie Stobart Limited that was acquired in 2004, now counting airports, ports, rail, biomass and estates businesses as part of the Group, as well as a truck fleet numbering some 2,250. Andrew Tinkler is credited, alongside William Stobart, with turning the company around during the years following the 2004 acquisition, and is central to the strategic development and vision that forms the backbone of the Group’s multimodal offering and FTSE250 listing today.

Ben Whawell

Mr. Ben Whawell is Chief Financial Officer, Executive Director of Stobart Group Ltd. Ben started his career in Grant Thornton where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant and progressed to Senior Corporate Finance Manager. He joined Stobart in 2004 after advising on the acquisition of the Group by WA Developments International. Since joining Stobart, Ben has managed the International Division, led a number of other areas in the Group, implemented financial and IT changes across the business and was involved in the merger with Westbury in 2007. Since the formation of the Company, he has overseen the acquisitions of James Irlam, Innovate Chilled, WA Developments, LSA, CLDA and more recently the Biomass business. Ben received the North West Financial Director of the Year Award in 2009.

William Stobart

Mr. William Stobart is Chief Operating Officer, Executive Director of Stobart Group Limited. Long-time Director of Eddie Stobart, William started his career with the company. He carried out a broad spectrum of roles, including HGV driver, planner and manager within Stobart during his early career. This comprehensive experience has given him an indepth understanding of every level of the business. William left Eddie Stobart in 2001, joining Andrew Tinkler’s business as a shareholding Director, and in 2004, following the acquisition of Eddie Stobart Limited he returned as Managing Director. William is currently CEO of the Transport & Distribution division and sits on the Board as COO.

Richard Butcher

Mr. Richard Butcher has been appointed as Chief Executive of Stobart Estates, Executive Director of Stobart Group Ltd., effective July 1, 2014. Richard joined Eddie Stobart in 1997 after 14 years with HSBC Corporate Finance and has been closely involved in a wide range of Stobart business activities, holding a number of key positions within the business including Managing Director of Eddie Stobart. As CEO, Stobart Estates, Richard plays a key role in property asset development.

John Coombs

Mr. John Coombs has been appointed as a Non-Executive Director of the Company effective July 1, 2014. He is a Managing Director at Unilever Ventures where he has chaired the investment committee for the past 12 years. He has served as a non-executive director or non-executive chairman on the boards of 12 investee companies. John helped establish Unilever's ventures business in 2001, having joined Unilever in 1981 following his graduation in Engineering Science from Oxford University, and went on to hold a wide range of senior positions.

John Garbutt

Mr. John Garbutt has been appointed as Non-Executive Director of the Company effective July 1, 2014. He obtained a BSc Econ Honours degree from the LSE and began his career with Rowe & Pitman. He subsequently worked at ICI, Touche Remnant and Schroders and became a Director at Kleinwort Benson in 1987. Between 1991 and 2013 he worked at HSBC in a variety of senior roles, most recently as Director, Global Head of Corporate Governance in the investment businesses. John is a Justice of the Peace and an Alderman in the City of London and has had a wide range of charitable and civic appointments.

Andrew Wood

Mr. Andrew R. Wood has been appointed as Senior Non-Executive Independent Director of Stobart Group Ltd., with effect from 1 November 2013. He is a Non-executive Director and Chairman of the Audit Committee at Lavendon plc, Air Partner plc and Berendsen plc. He was previously Group Finance Director of BBA Aviation plc, from which he retired in April 2010, and prior to this he was Group Finance Director of Racal Electronics plc.
