Stephen Jaeger |
Mr. Stephen O. Jaeger serves as Non-Executive Independent Chairman of the Board of Savient Pharmaceuticals Inc. Mr. Jaeger has been a director since 2003, non-executive Chairman since 2006, is the chairperson of Compensation and Human Resources Committee and a member of Audit and Finance Committee. From March 1999 until April 2000, Mr. Jaeger was Chief Executive Officer of eBT International, Inc., a software company, and from June 2001 until his retirement in December 2005, he served as eBT’s President and Chief Executive Officer. From 1997 to 1998, Mr. Jaeger was Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of The Clinical Communications Group, a medical education company, and from 1995 to 1997, he was Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer of Applera Corporation, a life sciences company. |
Louis Ferrari |
Mr. Louis Ferrari has been appointed as President, Chief Executive Officer, Director of Savient Pharmaceuticals, Inc., effective July 9, 2012. Mr. Ferrari joined Savient in February 2011. He has over 30 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, including in product launches, new product development, international marketing, sales management, sales training, licensing and acquisitions and clinical trials. Mr. Ferrari previously held the position of Executive Vice President, President North American Commercial Operations at Savient. Prior to joining Savient, Mr. Ferrari had a long career of increasing responsibility at Johnson and Johnson, where he most recently served as Vice President of Oncology and Nephrology, Sales and Marketing. Mr. John P. Hamill has been appointed as Chief Financial Officer, Senior Vice President of Savient Pharmaceuticals, Inc., effective September 24, 2012. Most recently, Mr. Hamill served as Chief Financial Officer of PharmaNet Development Group, Inc., a global supplier of drug development services, and its wholly owned subsidiary PharmaNet, Inc., where he directed financial and administrative operations. Prior to PharmaNet, Mr. Hamill held senior financial management positions of increasing responsibility and breadth at Omnicare Clinical Research and financial management positions at Rhone-Poulenc, Freedom Chemical Company, International Paper and Johnson & Johnson. Mr. David Veitch serves as President of Savient Pharma Ireland Limited., a subisidiary of Savient Pharmaceuticals Inc., since January 2012. Mr. Veitch is responsible for establishing, building the Company’s European regional organization to commercially launch and drive the future growth of KRYSTEXXA. Mr. Veitch joins Savient with over 24 years of pharmaceutical industry experience at Bristol-Myers Squibb and SmithKline Beecham Pharmaceuticals, and has knowledge across many therapy areas including: oncology, virology, CV-Metabolism, CNS and Immunology. Most recently he served as Senior Vice President of European Marketing & Brand Commercialization at Bristol-Myers Squibb, where he was responsible for the brand commercial organization for Europe across all disease areas and generating sales of $4 to $5 billion. Prior to that, Mr. Veitch spent ten years serving in a number of leadership positions at Bristol-Myers Squibb. Before his time at Bristol, Mr. Veitch spent ten years in a variety of managerial roles at SmithKline Beecham Pharmaceuticals. Mr. Richard Crowley serves as Executive Vice President - Biopharmaceutical Operations of Savient Pharmaceuticals Inc., since April 2011. Dr. Kenneth M. Bahrt, M.D., serves as Senior Vice President, Chief Medical Officer of Savient Pharmaceuticals Inc. Dr. Bahrt leads the overall management of Savient’s clinical development, drug safety and medical affairs teams. Dr. Bahrt previously served as Therapeutic Area Head for US Medical Affairs (Immunology) at Genentech, a biotechnology company. He also previously served as Global Medical Director (Inflammation and Immunology) for F. Hoffmann—La Roche, Inc, a pharmaceutical and diagnostics company. Additionally, Dr. Bahrt worked in leadership positions of increasing breadth and responsibility at Bristol Meyers Squibb Co., a global biopharmaceutical company, where he was the Executive Director of Global Medical Affairs (Immunology), and Pfizer, a biopharmaceutical company, where he served as Medical Director and Team Leader for rheumatology portfolio products. Mr. David G. Gionco is the Group Vice President, Chief Accounting Officer, Treasurer of Savient Pharmaceuticals, Inc. He joined the Company in February 2006 as Vice President of Corporate Finance and Controller, and served as the Company's Group Vice President - Chief Financial Officer & Treasurer from February 2009 until September 2011, and Group Vice President - Finance from September 2011 to May 2012. From August 2004 to February 2006, Mr. Gionco served as Acting Chief Financial Officer/Director of Finance and Controller of Odyssey Pharmaceuticals, a specialty pharmaceuticals company. From July 2003 through August 2004, he served as the Director of Finance for Progenics Pharmaceuticals. Mr. Gionco has spent more than 21 years in the pharmaceutical industry in various audit, corporate accounting, financial planning, finance and controller roles at several pharmaceutical companies, including Medco Health Solutions, Inc. and Merck & Co. In addition, Mr. Gionco has seven years of financial auditing experience with Edward Isaacs & Company, a public accounting firm that was acquired in 2000 by McGladrey & Pullen. David Meeker |
Dr. David P. Meeker, M.D., has been appointed as Director of Savient Pharmaceuticals, Inc., effective January 7, 2013. Dr. Meeker was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of Genzyme, a Sanofi Company, in October 2011. Prior to this, he held key positions of increasing responsibility at Genzyme first within Research and Development and then within the commercial organization. Most recently he served as Chief Operating Officer, in which capacity he was responsible for Genzyme’s commercial organization and played an important role in the company’s integration with Sanofi. Previous positions at Genzyme included President of the Global Rare Disease Business, in which role Dr. Meeker oversaw the global launches of Aldurazyme®, Fabrazyme®, and Myozyme®. Prior to joining Genzyme, Dr. Meeker served as the Director of the Pulmonary Critical Care Fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic and as an assistant professor of medicine at Ohio State University. He currently is a Board member of the Biotechnology Industry Organization and of Prize4Life. Dr. Meeker received his M.D. degree from the University of Vermont Medical School and completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School. |

Mr. David Y. Norton serves as Director of Savient Pharmaceuticals Inc. He resigned as Interim Chief Executive Officer of the Company, effective July 9, 2012. Mr. Robert G. Savage has been appointed as Director of Savient Pharmaceuticals, Inc. effective December 5, 2012. Mr. Savage is currently President and CEO of Strategic Imagery LLC, a consulting company of which he is the principal. Previously, Mr. Savage was Group Vice President and President of the Worldwide General Therapeutics & Inflammation Business of Pharmacia Corporation from 2002 until its acquisition by Pfizer, Inc. in 2003. Ginger Constantine |
Dr. Ginger D. Constantine M.D., serves as an Independent Director of Savient Pharmaceuticals Inc. since June 2009. She is a member of Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee. Since June 2010, Dr. Constantine has been a consultant with Endo-Rheum Consultants, a medical/clinical consulting firm. Until March 2010, when it was acquired by Pfizer Pharmaceuticals, Dr. Constantine served as Vice President of Women’s Health & Bone Repair Medical Research at Wyeth Research, a division of Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, a pharmaceutical company, and held Vice President positions with Wyeth since 2000. Dr. Constantine has held various management positions of increasing responsibility in the therapeutic areas of rheumatology, metabolism and bone repair within the Wyeth Pharmaceuticals and Wyeth Research organizations. Prior to joining Wyeth, Dr. Constantine was a practicing physician specializing in Rheumatology and Internal Medicine. Dr. Constantine obtained her medical degree from Temple University and completed her Rheumatology Fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania. She is currently a member of the American College of Rheumatology and a committee member for The Endocrine Society as well as various medical societies, including the American Medical Association, American Rheumatism Association and the Pennsylvania Medical Society. Dr. Constantine has over 15 years of management experience in the pharmaceutical industry and is a licensed rheumatologist. |

Mr. Virgil D. Thompson serves as an Independent Director of Savient Pharmaceuticals Inc., since 1994.
