Name Description

Robert Miller

Mr. Robert G. Miller has been appointed as Non-Executive Chairman of the Board of Supervalu Inc., effective March 21, 2013. Currently serves as the CEO of AB Acquisition, which operates grocery stores under the ACME, Albertson's, Jewel Osco, Shaw's & Star Market banners with approximately 1,070 retail grocery stores with 780 pharmacies in 29 states. These retail operations are supported by 12 supply chain centers. Prior to joining Albertsons in 2006, Mr. Miller was Chairman of the Board of Wild Oats Markets based in Boulder, Colorado from December 2004 through 2006. In December of 1999, Mr. Miller was hired as Chairman and CEO of Rite Aid Corporation. He continued to serve as Chairman of Rite Aid until June 2007 and a director until 2011. Before joining Rite Aid, Mr. Miller was Vice Chairman and Chief Operating Officer at the Kroger Company, which he joined in May 1999 when the company acquired the food and drug retailer Fred Meyer, Inc. Mr. Miller served as Fred Meyer, Inc. Chairman and CEO from 1991 to 1999.

Sam Duncan

Mr. Sam K. Duncan has been appointed as President and Chief Executive Officer of Supervalu Inc. He has most recently served from 2005 to 2011 as Chairman, CEO & President of OfficeMax, the third office supplies retailer in North America with over $7 billion in revenues and more than 1,000 stores in the United States, Mexico, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands. In addition to retail, Mr. Duncan also oversaw the company’s business-to-business sales and service divisions in Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Prior to joining OfficeMax, Mr. Duncan served from 2002 to 2005 as President and CEO of ShopKo Stores, a $3 billion Midwest retailer. In both these leadership roles, Duncan led publicly traded companies through growth and financial improvement efforts, resulting in stronger organizations and improved shareholder value. Mr. Duncan has an background in the grocery industry. He began his career at Albertsons as a courtesy clerk at the age of 15. During the next 19 years, he held various positions of increasing responsibility with Albertsons before moving to Fred Meyer, a division of Kroger, in 1992 as Vice President of Grocery. He was eventually appointed President of the Fred Meyer division. Duncan also served from 1998 to 2001 as President of Ralph’s Supermarket, one of the food retailers in Southern California.

Sherry Smith

Ms. Sherry M. Smith is no longer Chief Financial Officer, Executive Vice President of Supervalu Inc., effective July 31, 2013. She who has nearly 25 years of experience in the grocery industry and with SUPERVALU most recently served as the company's interim CFO. Smith came to SUPERVALU in 1987 and has held a variety of positions in the corporate accounting and financial reporting areas of the company, including vice president, corporate controller and treasurer. Prior to serving as the interim CFO, Smith was the company's senior vice president, finance, for eight years. She has been active in key initiatives of the company, including acquisitions and business realignment activities, and she has worked closely with other members of management in strengthening relationships with various banking and financial partners. She is a certified public accountant and began her career with McGladrey and Pullen, serving primarily manufacturing and financial institution clients.

Ritchie Casteel

Mr. Ritchie L. Casteel is President - Save-A-Lot of Supervalu Inc., since March 2013. Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Casteel served as Director of Sales and Operations at Grocery Outlet Inc. from 2005-2009 and served as a Consultant for Hallmark Cards, Inc., from 2011-2013.

Randy Burdick

Mr. Randy Burdick has been appointed as Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer of Supervalu Inc., since March 2013. Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Burdick served as Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer at OfficeMax Incorporated, from 2005-2013.

Ms. Karla C. Robertson is Executive Vice President - Legal, General Counsel, Corporate Secretary of Supervalu Inc. Prior to joining the Company, Karla C. Robertson worked as in house counsel with Target Corporation from 2006 to 2008, most recently as its Senior Employee Relations Counsel and Group Manager. Mark Van Buskirk

Mr. Mark Van Buskirk has been appointed as Executive Vice President - Merchandising, Marketing & Pharmacy of Supervalu Inc., since March 2013. Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Van Buskirk served as Vice President of Meat and Seafood Merchandising and Procurement at the Kroger Co., from 2006-2013.

Michele Murphy

Ms. Michele Murphy has been appointed as Executive Vice President - Human Resources of Supervalu Inc. In this role, Murphy oversees all of SUPERVALU's human resources functions, labor relations and corporate communications. She has spent the last seven years as SUPERVALU's senior vice president of corporate human resources and labor relations. Murphy has more than 30 years of experience in a variety of positions dealing with employment law, human resources and labor relations. She has served in roles with international law firm Morgan Lewis, grocery store operator American Stores and roles of increasing responsibility at Albertsons and SUPERVALU.

Janel Haugarth

Ms. Janel S. Haugarth has been appointed as Executive Vice President, President - Supply Chain of Supervalu Inc. She served as Executive Vice President - Business Optimization and Process Improvement of the Company, effective October 19, 2012. During her 35-year career with SUPERVALU, Haugarth has had leadership-level exposure to every area of the company, and has been instrumental in developing and implementing business strategies. With Haugarth's full-time focus on enterprise-wide optimization, the company will consolidate logistics and procurement leadership under Fred Boehler, who will now report directly to Sales as the senior vice president of supply chain.

Rob Woseth

Mr. Rob Woseth has been appointed as Executive Vice President, Chief Strategy Officer of Supervalu Inc., effective March 2013. Prior to joining the Company Mr. Woseth served as Vice President Business Development and Strategy, Albertson’s LLC, from 2006-2013.

Philip Francis

Mr. Philip L. Francis is Lead Independent Director of Supervalu Inc. He is retired in 2012 from PetSmart, Inc. after serving ten years as Chief Executive Officer and two years as the Executive Chairman. PetSmart is a specialty retailer of services and solutions for pets. Prior to joining PetSmart, Mr. Francis was the President and CEO of Shaw's Supermarkets and Cardinal Foods. His formal education includes a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Illinois in Agricultural Science and an MBA in Marketing and Management from Indiana University.

Wayne Sales

Mr. Wayne C. Sales is Director of Supervalu Inc. He was Non-Executive Chairman of the Board from 2010 to 2012. He served as Executive Chairman of the Board, Chief Executive Officer and President of SUPERVALU from July 2012 to February 2013. He is the retired vice chairman of Canadian Tire Corporation Limited, Canada's most-shopped general merchandise retailer and the country's independent gasoline retailer, which he led as Chief Executive Officer and President from 2000 to 2006. Mr. Sales' retail executive experience spans more than 35 years. Prior to joining Canadian Tire in 1991, he served in several senior leadership positions with the U.S. division of Kmart Corporation in the areas of marketing, merchandising and store operations. Mr. Sales' accomplishments earned him several industry awards, including Distinguished Retailer of the Year in 2004 by the Retail Council of Canada and CEO of the Year by Canadian Business Magazine in 2005. In 2009, Mr. Sales was also inducted into the Canadian Marketing Hall of Legends. Mr. Sales is a director and chair of the Compensation Committee of Tim Hortons Inc., the fourthpublicly traded quick service restaurant chain in North America based on market capitalization. He retired from his other board positions with Georgia Gulf Corp, a integrated North American manufacturer of chemicals and vinyl-based building and home improvement products, and Discovery Air Inc., a specialty aviation company, when he became President and Chief Executive Officer of the Company in 2012.

Lenard Tessler

Mr. Lenard B. Tessler has been appointed as Director of Supervalu Inc., effective March 21, 2013. Mr. Tessler is the Co-Head Global Private Equity and Senior Managing Director of Cerberus. Mr. Tessler joined Cerberus in 2001. Prior to joining Cerberus, Mr. Tessler served as Managing Partner of TGV Partners from 1990 to 2001, a private equity firm that he founded. From 1987 to 1990, he was a founding partner of Levine, Tessler, Leichtman & Co, a leveraged buy-out firm. From 1982 to 1987, he was a founder, Director and Executive Vice President of Walker Energy Partners. Mr. Tessler is a graduate of the University of Miami and received an M.B.A. from Fairleigh Dickinson University.

Donald Chappel

Mr. Donald R. Chappel is Independent Director of Supervalu Inc. He serves as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of The Williams Companies, Inc., a position he has held since April 2003. Mr. Chappel also serves as Chief Financial Officer and a director of Williams Partners GP LLC, the general partner of Williams Partners L.P. Mr. Chappel was Chief Financial Officer, from August 2007, and a director, from January 2008, of Williams Pipeline GP LLC, the general partner of Williams Pipeline Partners L.P., until its merger with Williams Partners L.P. in August 2010. Prior to joining Williams, Mr. Chappel held various financial, administrative, and operational leadership positions. Mr. Chappel also serves as a director of The Children's Hospital Foundation at St. Francis and of Family & Children's Services of Oklahoma.

Irwin Cohen

Mr. Irwin S. Cohen is Independent Director of Supervalu Inc., since May 2003. He is a Retired Partner of Deloitte & Touche LLP, a professional services firm providing audit, tax, financial advisory and consulting services. Mr. Cohen, who joined Deloitte in 1962 and became a partner in 1972, served as the Global Managing Partner of the Consumer Products, Retail and Services Practice of Deloitte from 1997 to 2003. Mr. Cohen also founded and led Deloitte's Consumer Products, Retail and Services Practice as it grew to serve over 100 countries in Europe, Asia Pacific and the Americas.

Mark Neporent

Mr. Mark A. Neporent has been appointed as Independent Director of Supervalu Inc., effective April 26, 2013. Mr. Neporent has served as Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel of Cerberus since 1998. Cerberus, one of the world's private investment firms, has more than $20 billion under management invested in four primary strategies: distressed securities and assets; control and non-control private equity; commercial mid-market lending and real estate-related investments. Mr. Neporent is responsible for the day-to-day management of Cerberus and serves on many of the Firm's committees, including the Investment Committee, Valuation Committee and Risk/Compliance Committee, among others. Prior to joining Cerberus, Mr. Neporent was a partner in the Business Reorganization and Finance Group at Schulte Roth & Zabel LLP, where he practiced from 1986 until he joined Cerberus. He also practiced from 1982 to 1986 at the firm of Otterbourg Steindler Houston & Rosen, P.C. Mr. Neporent is a graduate of Lehigh University and Syracuse University College of Law.

Matthew Rubel

Mr. Matthew E. Rubel is Independent Director of Supervalu Inc. He serves as a Senior Advisor with TPG Capital, a global private investment firm with $49 billion of capital under management. Until 2011 Mr. Rubel was the Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Collective Brands, Inc., the holding company for Payless ShoeSource, Collective Brands Performance Lifestyle Group and Collective Licensing International and in lifestyle, fashion and performance brands for footwear and related accessories. Mr. Rubel joined Collective Brands in 2005 as Chief Executive Officer and President.

John Standley

Mr. John T. Standley has been appointed as Independent Director of Supervalu Inc., effective April 26, 2013. Mr. Standley is the Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Rite Aid Corporation and has spent the past 20 years in executive leadership roles in the grocery and pharmacy retail business. He became Rite Aid Corporation's President and Chief Operating Officer in September 2008, was appointed to the Rite Aid Board of Directors in 2009 and was named Chief Executive Officer in June 2010. He was elected Chairman of Rite Aid's Board of Directors in June 2012. Mr. Standley had previously served as Rite Aid's Chief Financial Officer, Chief Administrative Officer and Senior Executive Vice President from 1999 to 2005. Rite Aid Corporation is one of the nation's drugstore chains with more than 4,600 stores in 31 states and the District of Columbia and fiscal 2013 annual revenues of $25.4 billion. In addition to his tenure at Rite Aid, Mr. Standley served as Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Board of Directors of Pathmark Stores, a northeast regional supermarket chain, from 2005-2007. He also worked with The Yucaipa Companies from 1994 to 1999 in a variety of senior leadership positions at several grocery companies that were consolidated into Fred Meyer, Inc. Mr. Standley is currently vice chairman of the National Association of Chain Drug Stores and is a graduate of Pepperdine University.
