Name Description

Gerald Storch

Mr. Gerald L. Storch is Non-Executive Chairman of the Board of SUPERVALU INC. Mr. Storch is chairman and chief executive officer of Storch Advisors, a senior management advisory and consulting firm that focuses primarily on retailing, e-commerce, consumer products and services, and consumer financial services. From 2006-2013, Mr. Storch was chairman and chief executive officer of Toys "R" Us, where he helped grow the company into a $13 billion global retailer, including expanding the company's e-commerce business and overseeing several large-scale mergers and acquisitions. Prior to his tenure at Toys "R" Us, Mr. Storch served as vice chairman of Target, a $70 billion retailer. During more than a decade with Target, Mr. Storch led the retailer's e-commerce site, target.com, the Target grocery business, and the Target Financial Services credit card business, and oversaw Marshall Field's Department Stores. He currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors of Bristol Myers Squibb and Fanatics. Mr. Storch received a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School, a Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School and holds a Bachelor of Arts from Harvard College.

Mark Gross

Mr. Mark Gross is President, Chief Executive Officer, Director of the Company. He has been appointed to the position of Director of the Company., effective 1 March 2016. Mark Gross joins SUPERVALU with 20 years of grocery and wholesale leadership experience. From 1997 to 2006, Gross worked at C&S Wholesale Grocers, including serving as Co-President of C&S’s overall operations from 2005-2006. Additionally, during his tenure with C&S, Gross served as Chief Financial Officer, General Counsel, and President of its affiliated retail grocery operations. For the past decade, Gross has led Surry Investment Advisors, a firm he founded, to provide consulting services to grocery distributors and retailers with respect to strategic and operational matters. In this advisory role, he has assisted grocery clients on several multi-billion dollar acquisitions and divestitures and consulted with private equity firms with respect to investments in food retail, distribution and consumer packaged goods sectors. Gross earned his law degree from the University of Pennsylvania, graduating Cum Laude, and holds a BA from Dartmouth College, where he graduated with the highest honors in his major.

Bruce Besanko

Mr. Bruce H. Besanko is Chief Financial Officer, Chief Operating Officer of the Company. He was Executive Vice President of the Company. Mr. Besanko joins SUPERVALU after serving as executive vice president of finance, chief financial officer and chief administrative officer for OfficeMax, where he helped strengthen the company’s balance sheet and transform business-to-business and retail segments for one of the global office supply companies following his appointment in 2009. Prior to his work at OfficeMax, Besanko served as vice president of finance and chief financial officer for Circuit City Stores Inc. from 2007-2009, as well as senior vice president of finance and chief financial officer for The Yankee Candle Company Inc. from 2005 to 2007. He also held financial leadership positions at Best Buy Co. Inc., Sears, Roebuck & Co. and Atlantic Richfield Company in the years prior. Mr. Besanko earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Cincinnati and holds a Master of Business Administration degree in Finance and Strategy from the University of Chicago. Besanko also served in the U.S. Air Force for 26 years, where he rose to the rank of lieutenant colonel. In his role as both Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer, Besanko will continue to oversee SUPERVALU's five regional Retail banners, the Company's merchandising, marketing and pharmacy functions, and the Finance function, as well as add oversight of SUPERVALU's Human Resources function.

Eric Claus

Mr. Eric Claus is Chief Executive Officer - Save-A-Lot of the Company., effective on or before January 4, 2016. Claus has spent more than 30 years in the retail industry with career stops in both the United States and Canada, where he has gained deep experience in both hard discount and grocery retail. He has served as Chief Executive Officer for Co-Op Atlantic, President and Chief Executive Officer at the Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company (A&P), first in the Canadian division and then overseeing the U.S. operations from 2005-2009, and as an advisor to private equity firms on the retail and consumable goods industry. Since July 2013, he has served as Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Red Apple Stores Inc., where he restructured and transformed the now 155-store value-oriented clothing, general merchandise and food chain.

Randy Burdick

Mr. Randy Burdick is Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer of Supervalu Inc., since March 2013. Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Burdick served as Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer at OfficeMax Incorporated, from 2005-2013.

Karla Robertson

Ms. Karla C. Robertson is Executive Vice President - Legal, General Counsel, Corporate Secretary of Supervalu Inc. Prior to joining the Company, Karla C. Robertson worked as in house counsel with Target Corporation from 2006 to 2008, most recently as its Senior Employee Relations Counsel and Group Manager. She was Vice President, Employment, Compensation and Benefits Law, 2012-2013; Director, Employment Law, 2011-2012.

Mark Van Buskirk

Mr. Mark L. Van Buskirk is no longer Executive Vice President - Merchandising, Marketing, Retail & Pharmacy of Supervalu Inc., effective July 16, 2016. Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Van Buskirk served as Vice President of Meat and Seafood Merchandising and Procurement at the Kroger Co., from 2006-2013.

Michele Murphy

Ms. Michele Murphy is Executive Vice President - Human Resources and Communications of Supervalu Inc. In this role, Murphy oversees all of SUPERVALU's human resources functions, labor relations and corporate communications. She has spent the last seven years as SUPERVALU's senior vice president of corporate human resources and labor relations. Murphy has more than 30 years of experience in a variety of positions dealing with employment law, human resources and labor relations. She has served in roles with international law firm Morgan Lewis, grocery store operator American Stores and roles of increasing responsibility at Albertsons and SUPERVALU.

Michael Stigers

Mr. Michael C. Stigers is Executive Vice President - Wholesale of the Company. He was Executive Vice President, President - Independent Business and Supply Chain Services of the Company. Mike Stigers, current President of Cub Foods, has been appointed Executive Vice President, Independent Business and Supply Chain to succeed Haugarth. Stigers, who started his grocery career in 1974, has more than 40 years of experience in the grocery industry. Stigers joined SUPERVALU in 2011, and has served in roles as President of Shaw’s, one of SUPERVALU’s formerly-owned retail banners, and as President of Northern Region, formerly one of the three sales regions within SUPERVALU’s Independent Business segment.

James Weidenheimer

Mr. James Weidenheimer is Executive Vice President, Corporate Development and Chief Innovation Officer of the Company. Weidenheimer's background includes serving as Senior Vice President of Corporate Development for C&S Wholesale Grocers from 2008 to January 2016 when he retired from C&S. Prior to C&S, Weidenheimer served as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for the wholesale division of Richfood Holdings. He holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Kansas.

Mr. Rob Woseth is Executive Vice President - Strategy of Supervalu Inc., effective March 2013. Prior to joining the Company Mr. Woseth served as Vice President Business Development and Strategy, Albertson’s LLC, from 2006-2013.

Susan Grafton

Ms. Susan S. Grafton is Senior Vice President - Finance, Chief Accounting Officer of the Company. She was Chief Financial Officer, Executive Vice President of Supervalu Inc. Prior to joining the Company, Ms. Grafton served as Senior Vice President, Controller and Chief Accounting Officer from 2011-2014 and Vice President, Controller and Chief Accounting Officer from 2006-2011 at Best Buy Co., Inc., a retailer of consumer electronics and related products.

Philip Francis

Mr. Philip L. Francis is Lead Independent Director of Supervalu Inc. He is retired in 2012 from PetSmart, Inc. after serving ten years as Chief Executive Officer and two years as the Executive Chairman. PetSmart is a specialty retailer of services and solutions for pets. Prior to joining PetSmart, Mr. Francis was the President and CEO of Shaw's Supermarkets and Cardinal Foods. His formal education includes a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Illinois in Agricultural Science and an MBA in Marketing and Management from Indiana University.

Wayne Sales

Mr. Wayne C. Sales is Director of Supervalu Inc. He was Non-Executive Chairman of the Board from 2010 to 2012. He served as Executive Chairman of the Board, Chief Executive Officer and President of SUPERVALU from July 2012 to February 2013. He is the retired vice chairman of Canadian Tire Corporation Limited, Canada's most-shopped general merchandise retailer and the country's independent gasoline retailer, which he led as Chief Executive Officer and President from 2000 to 2006. Mr. Sales' retail executive experience spans more than 35 years. Prior to joining Canadian Tire in 1991, he served in several senior leadership positions with the U.S. division of Kmart Corporation in the areas of marketing, merchandising and store operations. Mr. Sales' accomplishments earned him several industry awards, including Distinguished Retailer of the Year in 2004 by the Retail Council of Canada and CEO of the Year by Canadian Business Magazine in 2005. In 2009, Mr. Sales was also inducted into the Canadian Marketing Hall of Legends. Mr. Sales is a director and chair of the Compensation Committee of Tim Hortons Inc., the fourthpublicly traded quick service restaurant chain in North America based on market capitalization. He retired from his other board positions with Georgia Gulf Corp, a integrated North American manufacturer of chemicals and vinyl-based building and home improvement products, and Discovery Air Inc., a specialty aviation company, when he became President and Chief Executive Officer of the Company in 2012.

Mary Winston

Ms. Mary A. Winston CPA, has been appointed as Director of the Company., effective 27 April 2016. Ms. Winston joins the Board having most recently served from 2012 through August 2015 as the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Family Dollar Stores, Inc., a discount retailer with more than 8,300 stores and nearly $11 billion in revenues prior to its acquisition by Dollar Tree in July 2015. Before joining Family Dollar, from 2008 to 2012, Ms. Winston served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Giant Eagle, Inc., a regional grocery and fuel retailer. In addition to her corporate executive leadership experience, Ms. Winston also has over ten years of experience serving on public company boards and audit committees where she brings extensive financial management and leadership experience. Ms. Winston currently serves on the boards of directors for two public companies, Dover Corporation and Domtar Corporation, and from 2008 through February 2016 was a director for Plexus Corporation.

Donald Chappel

Mr. Donald R. Chappel is an Independent Director of Supervalu Inc. He serves as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of The Williams Companies, Inc., a position he has held since April 2003. Mr. Chappel also serves as Chief Financial Officer and a director of Williams Partners GP LLC, the general partner of Williams Partners L.P. Mr. Chappel was Chief Financial Officer, from August 2007, and a director, from January 2008, of Williams Pipeline GP LLC, the general partner of Williams Pipeline Partners L.P., until its merger with Williams Partners L.P. in August 2010. Prior to joining Williams, Mr. Chappel held various financial, administrative, and operational leadership positions. Mr. Chappel also serves as a director of The Children's Hospital Foundation at St. Francis and of Family & Children's Services of Oklahoma.

Irwin Cohen

Mr. Irwin S. Cohen is an Independent Director of Supervalu Inc., since May 2003. He is a Retired Partner of Deloitte & Touche LLP, a professional services firm providing audit, tax, financial advisory and consulting services. Mr. Cohen, who joined Deloitte in 1962 and became a partner in 1972, served as the Global Managing Partner of the Consumer Products, Retail and Services Practice of Deloitte from 1997 to 2003. Mr. Cohen also founded and led Deloitte's Consumer Products, Retail and Services Practice as it grew to serve over 100 countries in Europe, Asia Pacific and the Americas.

Eric Johnson

Mr. Eric G. Johnson has been appointed as an Independent Director of SUPERVALU INC., effective July 17, 2013. Mr. Johnson is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Baldwin Richardson Foods Company (“Baldwin Richardson”). Mr. Johnson purchased Baldwin Ice Cream Co. in 1992, and in 1997 completed the acquisition of Richardson Foods from Quaker Oats Company to form Baldwin Richardson. From 1989 to 1991, Mr. Johnson served as Chief Executive Officer of Johnson Products Company. Mr. Johnson serves as a member of the Board of Directors for Lincoln National Corporation and is chairman of its Finance Committee. He also sits on the Board of Trustees for Babson College and serves on the Board of the Urban League of Rochester. Mr. Johnson is a graduate of Babson College. Mr. Johnson has been appointed to serve on the Board’s Corporate Governance and Nominating Committee and Leadership Development and Compensation Committee.

Mathew Pendo

Mr. Mathew M. Pendo is an Independent Director of the Supervalu Inc. Mr. Pendo has served as a Managing Director at Sandler O’Neill Partners, an investment banking boutique focused on the financial services industry, since September 2013. Prior to joining Sandler O’Neill Partners, Mr. Pendo served as the Chief Investment Officer for the Troubled Asset Relief Program (“TARP”) at the U.S. Department of the Treasury from November 2010 until March 2013. He previously served as Managing Director Investment Banking for Barclays Capital from 2003 until October 2010, where he served as Co-Head of the Industrials Group and the U.S. Investment Banking Group. Mr. Pendo is currently a member of the Board of Directors of Ally Financial Inc., a bank holding company focused on the auto finance and online banking industries. Mr. Pendo holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Princeton University and received a Distinguished Service Award from the U.S. Department of Treasury for his work overseeing TARP’s investment activities.

Matthew Rubel

Mr. Matthew E. Rubel is an Independent Director of Supervalu Inc. He serves as a Senior Advisor with TPG Capital, a global private investment firm with $49 billion of capital under management. Until 2011 Mr. Rubel was the Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Collective Brands, Inc., the holding company for Payless ShoeSource, Collective Brands Performance Lifestyle Group and Collective Licensing International and in lifestyle, fashion and performance brands for footwear and related accessories. Mr. Rubel joined Collective Brands in 2005 as Chief Executive Officer and President.

Frank Savage

Mr. Frank A. Savage is Independent Director of the Supervalu Inc. Mr. Savage has been a senior advisor to investment banking firm Lazard Ltd. (“Lazard”) since January 1, 2014 and served as Vice Chairman of U.S. Investment Banking at Lazard from 2009 to December 31, 2013. He was the Co-Head of Lazard’s Restructuring Group from June 1999 to December 31, 2013 and also served on Lazard’s Deputy Chairman Committee from 2006 to December 2013. Prior to joining Lazard, Mr. Savage served as Co-Head of the Restructuring Practice at investment banking firm BT Alex. Brown Inc. and before that was the Head of the Restructuring Group at investment bank UBS AG. Mr. Savage holds a degree from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business.

John Standley

Mr. John T. Standley has been appointed as an Independent Director of Supervalu Inc., effective April 26, 2013. Mr. Standley is the Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Rite Aid Corporation and has spent the past 20 years in executive leadership roles in the grocery and pharmacy retail business. He became Rite Aid Corporation's President and Chief Operating Officer in September 2008, was appointed to the Rite Aid Board of Directors in 2009 and was named Chief Executive Officer in June 2010. He was elected Chairman of Rite Aid's Board of Directors in June 2012. Mr. Standley had previously served as Rite Aid's Chief Financial Officer, Chief Administrative Officer and Senior Executive Vice President from 1999 to 2005. Rite Aid Corporation is one of the nation's drugstore chains with more than 4,600 stores in 31 states and the District of Columbia and fiscal 2013 annual revenues of $25.4 billion. In addition to his tenure at Rite Aid, Mr. Standley served as Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Board of Directors of Pathmark Stores, a northeast regional supermarket chain, from 2005-2007. He also worked with The Yucaipa Companies from 1994 to 1999 in a variety of senior leadership positions at several grocery companies that were consolidated into Fred Meyer, Inc. Mr. Standley is currently vice chairman of the National Association of Chain Drug Stores and is a graduate of Pepperdine University.
