Daniel Carriere |
Mr. Daniel A. Carriere has been appointed as Independent Chairman of the Board of International Tower Hill Mines Ltd with effect from September 19, 2012. Mr. Carriere was a founding partner and shareholder, as well as the Senior Vice President, of Corriente Resources Inc. (TSX) from 1992 until the sale of Corriente to CRCC-Tongguan Investment (Canada) Co., Ltd. (owned jointly by Tongling Nonferrous Metals Group Holdings Co., Ltd. and China Railway Construction Corporation Limited) for approximately $678 million in mid-2010. During the past 20 years, Mr. Carriere has been instrumental in the development and financing of small to medium capitalized companies, both private and public, in Canada and the USA. |
Donald Ewigleben |
Mr. Donald C. Ewigleben has been appointed as President, Chief Executive Officer, Director of International Tower Hill Mines Ltd with effect from September 19, 2012. Mr. Ewigleben is a lawyer with 35 years of experience in the mining industry overseeing legal, regulatory environmental and government affairs. He is currently the president and chief executive officer of Uranium Resources Inc., a uranium producer with in situ recovery mining projects in the state of Texas. Previously, he was president and chief executive officer of AngloGold Ashanti, North America, and served as the executive officer of sustainability and legal affairs for AngloGold Ashanti in the Americas. Mr. Ewigleben served as the executive officer of law, safety, health and environment for AngloGold Ashanti Ltd. in Johannesburg, South Africa, in 2006 and 2007. Prior to becoming the chief executive officer of AngloGold in 2004, Mr. Ewigleben served as president, chief administrative officer, vice-president and general counsel. Before joining AngloGold in 2000, he was the vice-president, environmental and public affairs, for Echo Bay Mines. Prior to AngloGold and Echo Bay, Mr. Ewigleben served in various capacities for Amax Gold and Amax Coal Industries. He began his career as a governmental affairs representative for Amax in Washington and multiple state legislatures. Mr. Ewigleben has served on the board of directors for the National Mining Association, the Gold Institute, the Mining Association of Canada, numerous state and provincial coal and hard-rock mining associations, and as a trustee of the Northwest Mining Association, the Eastern Mineral Law Foundation and the Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation. A graduate of the Indiana University School of Law, he also holds bachelor of science degrees in American history, political science and music from Ball State University. Mr. Ewigleben is a member of the American Bar Association, and is admitted to the practice of law in Colorado and Indiana. |
Tom Yip |
Mr. Tom S. Q. Yip serves as Chief Financial Officer of International Tower Hill Mines Ltd., since september 7, 2011. Mr. Yip has 25 years of experience in all aspects of financial management including strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions, treasury and capital structure, reporting and risk management with both private and publicly traded resource companies. Most recently, Mr. Yip served as the Chief Financial Officer for Silver Standard Resources Inc., a Canadian mining company with a substantial portfolio of silver properties in the Americas.Since 2007, he was a key member of the leadership team to transition from an exploration and development company to a producer. Prior to that, he served as the Chief Financial Officer for Asarco, LLC, a copper mining, smelting and refining company, from 2006 to 2007. He began his career in the mining industry with Echo Bay Mines Ltd., where he worked for 20 years holding various financial roles of increasing responsibility, including Principal Accounting Officer and then Chief Financial Officer, before the company merged with Kinross Gold Corporation in 2003. Mr. Yip is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Business Administration from the University of Alberta. |
Robert Comer |
Mr. Robert D. Comer serves as Chief Administrative Officer and General Counsel of International Tower Hill Mines Ltd., since January 1, 2012. Mr. Comer has nearly 25 years of experience practicing natural resource and mineral law in the United States and will be responsible for all legal affairs and corporate administration matters at ITH. He will play an influential role in the Company's permitting activities at the Livengood Gold Project. Mr. Comer served at the Department of the Interior from 2002 to 2010 in the executive positions of Associate Solicitor for Minerals, Land and Water, Regional Solicitor and Counselor to the Solicitor. During 2007, Mr. Comer also served as General Counsel and Principal Deputy to the Office of the Federal Coordinator for Alaska Natural Gas Transportation Projects where he helped to establish a new federal office involved with permitting an international natural gas pipeline from Alaska to the Alberta hub. Additional responsibilities included development and implementation of original office programmatic policy, procedures, hiring and procurement. From 1994 to 2000, Mr. Comer served as Mining Attorney and Associate General Counsel with Asarco Incorporated, a Fortune 500 mining, mineral processing and specialty chemical company. He holds a B.A., cum laude from the University of Colorado in Environmental Biology and Conservation, a Masters of Forest Science from Yale University and Juris Doctorate from University of Colorado's School of Law. |
Thomas Irwin |
Mr. Thomas E. Irwin serves as Vice President, Alaska of International Tower Hill Mines Ltd and President, Tower Hill Mines Inc, a subsidiary of International Tower Hill Mines Ltd., since August 16, 2012. Effective immediately, Mr. Irwin will assume responsibility for management of all Alaska activities of the subsidiary for the Livengood Gold Project. Most recently the Alaska General Manager for the Livengood Gold Project, Mr. Irwin has over 35 years' experience in the natural resource industry constructing, optimizing, operating and permitting mining projects in Alaska, Nevada and Colorado with companies such as Amax Gold Inc. and Kinross Gold Corporation. He also served for six years as Commissioner of the Alaska Department of Natural Resources. |

Mr. Jeffrey A. Pontius is no longer Director of International Tower Hill Mines Ltd., effective June 6, 2013. He has been appointed as Interim Chief Executive Officer of the Company, on June 29, 2012. Mr. Pontius is the former Chief Executive Officer of the Company (August 2006 – May 31, 2011) and has been, since September, 2010, the Chief Executive Officer and a director of Corvus Gold Inc. He has 30 years of geological experience and possesses a distinguished track record of discovery that includes three precious metal deposits. Significantly, during 1989-1996, as Exploration Manager of Pikes Peak Mining Company (a subsidiary of NERCO Mineral Co. and Independence Mining Company), he managed the district scale exploration program resulting in the discovery of the Cresson Deposit at Cripple Creek, Colorado, containing over 5 million ounces of gold. He spent 1999 to 2006 at AngloGold Ashanti (USA) Exploration Inc., starting as Senior US Exploration Manager, and became North American Exploration Manager and also a Director of Anglo American (USA) Exploration Inc. He left AngloGold Ashanti to become the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Company in 2006 and continue the exploration programs he started at AngloGold. Mr. Pontius holds a Masters Degree from the University of Idaho (Economic Geology), a BSc from Huxley College of Environmental Studies (Environmental Science) and a BSc from Western Washington University (Geology). He also holds director positions with several natural resource exploration and development companies. |

Mr. Timothy J. Haddon serves as an Independent Director of International Tower Hill Mines Ltd. Mr. Haddon is the President of International Natural Resource Management Co., a mining industry consulting service provider and investor. He is a graduate of the Colorado School of Mines and a seasoned mining engineer with 35 years of international mining and business experience. He spent 23 years working for Texasgulf and Amax with responsibilities in Africa, Australia, Southeast Asia and North and South America. Mr. Haddon was Chief Executive Officer of Amax Gold from 1989 to 1993, a global mining company with operations in New Zealand and North and South America which was ultimately acquired by Kinross Gold Corporation in 1998. He was a cofounder of First Dynasty Mines in 1994, and President and Chief Executive Officer of Archangel Diamond Corporation from 1997 to 2002. He currently serves as Chairman of Alacer Gold Corporation (TSX/ASX), a mid-tier gold producer with operations in Turkey and Australia, as the lead director for Thompson Creek Metals Inc. Mark Hamilton |
Mr. Mark R. Hamilton serves as an Independent Director of International Tower Hill Mines Ltd., since November 17, 2011. Mr. Hamilton retired as a U.S. Army general following 31 years of active military duty, primarily in the fields of teaching, management and administration. Most recently, he was the past president of the University of Alaska system from 1998 to 2011. Prior to 1998, Mr. Hamilton served as chief of staff of the Alaskan command at Elmendorf Air Force Base and commander of division artillery at Fort Richardson. He is a graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and is the recipient of the army's peacetime award, the service medal. He received his master's degree in English literature from Florida State University. In addition, he graduated from the Armed Forces Staff College in Virginia, and the U.S. Army War College in Pennsylvania. Mr. Hamilton currently serves as a director of Aerospace Corp.'s board, the BP advisory board and Alaska Sealife Center board. Mr. Taplin is a partner in McCarthy Tetrault's business law group and of the global mining group. His practice is primarily focused on the areas of mergers and acquisitions, and securities, particularly in the mining sector. Mr. Taplin's experience includes advising on mining mergers and acquisitions transactions, including friendly and hostile takeover bids. Prior to joining McCarthy Tetrault in May, 2003, he was a partner at Deneys Reitz Attorneys in Johannesburg, South Africa. During 1998, he was seconded to Slaughter and May solicitors in London, United Kingdom, as a visiting lawyer. He received a bachelor of arts in political science (cum laude) and law in 1992, and received his bachelor of law in 1994 from the University of Witwatersrand. Mr. Taplin was called to the British Columbia bar in 2003 and was admitted as an attorney of the High Court of South Africa in 1997. |
