Biographies

Name Description

Colin Williams

 Mr. Colin J. Williams has been Chairman of the Board of Directors of Turkcell Iletisim Hizmetleri A.S. since February 25, 2010. He serves as Member of the Audit Committee and Chairman of the Governance Committee of Turkcell's Board of Directors. He is also Supervisory Director and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Treofan; Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chair of the Audit and Remuneration Committees of Clondalkin, and Chairman of Kloeckner Pentaplast. He previously served as Non-Executive Director and Voting Member of the Audit and Remuneration Committees of Yule Catto. From January 2001 to December 2004, Mr. Williams served as President of SCA, North America. He was a long-term Board Member and Vice Chairman of ICCA, the International Corrugated Packaging Institution, the European Federation of Packaging and the Federation of Paper Producers (CEPI). Mr. Williams is the founding President of Propak Europe, and was Board Member of the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce between 2002 and 2004. From 1988 to 2001, Mr. Williams was President of SCA Packaging, prior to which he served as Managing Director of Bowater for four years. From 1978 to 1984, he was first Sales Director, and then General Manager of Chicopee in the Netherlands. Mr. Williams holds an MBA degree in Finance from New York University, and a Master of Science degree in Physical Chemistry. He also received an honorary doctorate degree from Lund University.

Cenk Bayrakdar

 Mr. Cenk Bayrakdar serves as Vice General Manager responsible for New Technology Works of Turkcell Iletisim Hizmetleri A.S. He joined the Company in 2002. Prior to his current position, he served as Head of Content Services and Business Partnering Department of the Company. He started his professional life in Koc Holding as Management Trainee, and later joined Arcelik, where he held several managerial positions in Information Technology and Production Teams. He worked in Corbuss as Business Development Coordinator between 2001 and 2002, and in Turktell as Business Development Director between 2002 and 2003. Mr. Bayrakdar has a Bachelors degree in Electronic Communications Engineering from Istanbul Teknik Universitesi, and a Masters degree in Industrial Engineering from Texas A&M University.

Ilker Kuruoz

 Mr. Ilker Kuruoz has been performing as Vice General Manager responsible for Information and Communication Technologies of Turkcell Iletisim Hizmetleri A.S. since September 2009. He joined Turkcell in 2006. Mr. Kuruoz has started his professional life in 1994 in ABT. He then worked in NCR as System Consultant, in Garanti Teknoloji as Division Manager and in Accenture as Senior Manager. Prior to his current position in Turkcell, he was Capacity Division Head of Turkcell. Mr. Kuruoz graduated from Bilkent University Computer and Informatics Engineering in 1992 and holds a Masters degree from the same university.

Umit Akin

 Mr. Umit Akin has been serving as Vice General Manager responsible for Legal Affairs of Turkcell Iletisim Hizmetleri A.S. since January 20, 2010. He joined the Company in 2002. Prior to his current position, he served as Head of Legal Affairs Department of the Company. Mr. Akin received a Bachelors degree in Law from Ankara University in 1995 and a Masters degree in Public Law in 1998 from the same university.

Sureyya Ciliv

 Mr. Sureyya Ciliv has been General Manager of Turkcell Iletisim Hizmetleri A.S. since January 9, 2007. He co-founded Novasoft Systems Inc. in Boston, the United States, and served as Vice General Manager, General Manager, as well as Chairman of the Board between 1987 and 1997. From 1997 to 2000, he was Country General Manager for Microsoft Turkey based in Istanbul. Mr. Ciliv, who has international experience in general management, marketing and sales, joined the Company from Microsoft headquarters in Redmond, WA, the United States, where he held executive positions in the Microsoft Worldwide Sales, Marketing and Services Group between 2000 and 2007. He was the Head of Field Readiness Strategy and Systems Division of Microsoft, before he joined Turkcell. Mr. Ciliv received his MBA degree from Harvard University in 1983, and his BSc degree in Industrial & Operations Engineering and Computer Engineering from the University of Michigan, in 1981, where he graduated with honors.

Tayfun Cataltepe

 Mr. Tayfun Cataltepe is performing as Vice General Manager of Turkcell Iletisim Hizmetleri A.S. responsible for Corporate Strategy and Regulations. He joined the Company on November 5, 2007, as Vice General Manager of the Corporate Strategy and International Expansion, and served in this post until his current appointment. Prior to joining the Company, he was in charge of corporate integration services in Post-Merger and Acquisition Period Department of Ernst & Young in the European telecom sector. Mr. Cataltepe worked as Research and Development Engineer in the Bell Laboratories between 1990 and 1998. In 1998, he was appointed as IP Network and Service Planning Projects Manager of AT&T, where he worked until 2003. He then worked as Deputy General Manager in charge of technical operations of Aycell, and was promoted to Deputy General Manager responsible for AVEA Network Operations in 2004, a position he held until 2006. Mr. Cataltepe received a Bachelors degree in Electronics Engineering from Bogazici Universitesi, an MSc degree from Michigan Technological University and a Ph.D. degree from University of California.

Bulent Elonu

 Mr. Bulent Elonu is Vice General Manager of Network Operations at Turkcell Iletisim Hizmetleri AS. He started his career at Siemens in 1997 and joined the Company in 1999. Mr. Elonu is a graduate of the Department of Electrical Engineering of Istanbul Teknik Universitesi.

Koray Ozturkler

 Mr. Koray Ozturkler has been performing as Vice General Manager of Corporate Communications and Relations of Turkcell Iletisim Hizmetleri A.S. since April 9, 2008. He joined the Company in 1998, and was appointed as Head of Investor Relations on January 1, 2002. Prior to this appointment, he served as International Business Development Director of the Company. She joined the Company in December 2003 and acted as Vice Manager of Turkcell Group Marketing Services.

Ilter Terzioglu

Ekrem Yener

 Mr. Ekrem Yener is performing as Vice General Manager of Turkcell Iletisim Hizmetleri A.S. responsible for International Expansion. He joined the Company in 2007, as Vice General Manager responsible for the Enterprise Group, and served in this post until his current appointment. He worked at Aysu Dis Tic. Hulusi Acar

 Mr. Hulusi Acar has been performing as Vice General Manager responsible for Consumer Sales since December 10, 2009. He joined Turkcell in 2000. He graduated from Galatasaray Anatolian High school and then Istanbul University Business Administration department in 1995. Mr. Acar worked in sales positions in THY and Koctas A.S. Selen Kocabas

 Ms. Selen Kocabas serves as Vice General Manager of Corporate Sales and Marketing at Turkcell Iletisim Hizmetleri A.S. She began her career in Koc Holding as Management Trainee. She later worked at Arcelik as Human Resources Specialist; at Marshall as Chief Human Resources Coordinator for five years, and at Danone SA as Human Resources Director responsible for founding the water and milk companies, establishing the proper structure and deploying optimum human resources for four years. After working on the Hochtief AG-1 Bridge project and the Tekfen A.S.-Iraq-Turkey pipeline project, Mr. Ergin held various positions in Cukurova Holding. Mr. Ergin performed as General Spare Parts Manager in Cukurova Ithalat ve Ihracat T.A.S., as General Manager of OMPAS Otomotiv A.S., and as Executive Board Member in Maysan A.S. and Baytur Trading S.A. He stills serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Genel Denizcilik Nakliyati A.S., Show T.V. and Aksam Gazetesi. Mr. Ergin has a Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering from Robert College of Istanbul.

Gulsun Karamehmet Williams

 Ms. Gulsun Nazli Karamehmet Williams is performing as Board Member of Turkcell Iletisim Hizmetleri AS. She worked in different positions in Digiturk (Digital Platform Iletisim Hizmetleri A.S.) since 2004 after working in BSkyB England. Ms. Karamehmet Williams is working as the Senior Vice President, responsible from the Content and is the member of Digiturk Board of Directors. Tero Kivisaari

He has also been serving as President of the Eurasia Business Unit of TeliaSonera since May 1, 2007. Asst. Prof. Kivisaari is Chairman of Fintur Holdings BV Board, and Member of the Board of Directors of Azercell and Moldcell. He has served as Associate Professor of Finance at Helsinki School of Economics. Previously, he served as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Vice President of TeliaSonera Eurasia operations. Asst. Prof. Kivisaari also acted as CFO of Fintur Holding BV from 2003. He has been CFO of SmartTrust AB, a mobile software company owned by Carlyle Group, GE Capital, Eqvitec and Sonera Group. Prior to that, he held the position of Vice President of Sonera Group's International Operations. Asst. Prof. Kivisaari holds an MBA degree in Finance.

Oleg Malis

 Mr. Oleg Adolfovich Malis has been Board Member of Turkcell Iletisim Hizmetleri A.S. since May 22, 2006. He is also Member of the Governance Committee of the Company. He is also Senior Vice President of Altimo. Mr. Malis began working for Altimo as Chief of the Current Project Management Unit in 2005. Between 2003 and 2005, he was Senior Vice President and Mergers and Acquisitions Director at Golden Telecom. Before joining Golden Telecom, Mr. Malis founded Investelectrosvyaz and Corbina Telecom. He received his Bachelors degree in Systems Engineering from Moscow State Aviation Technological University, also known as Moscow Aviation Institute (State University of Aerospace Technologies) in 1993.

Alexey Khudyakov

 Mr. Alexey Khudyakov has been Non-Executive Member of the Board of Directors of Turkcell Iletisim Hizmetleri A.S. since May 22, 2006. He is also Observer Member of the Audit Committee of the Company's Board of Directors. He joined Altimo in 2004, and is currently performing as its Vice President. Before joining Altimo, he worked at Alpha Bank as Vice President, managing Alfa Group's investments in Golden Telecom and Kyivstar. From 1998 to 2002, Mr. Khudyakov worked in the Moscow office of McKinsey & Co. He received his MBA degree from INSEAD, and holds a Masters degree in Applied Mathematics and Physics from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology.
