Name Description

John Weston

Mr. John Pix Weston is Non-Executive Independent Chairman of the Board of Torotrak PLC., since 1 June 2011. John Weston joined Torotrak as Chairman on 1 June 2011. He began his career at BAE as an undergraduate engineering apprentice in 1970 and subsequently progressed through increasingly senior positions. During his time at BAE, he held many major roles within the company, serving as Project Director for the transformational £30 billion Al-Yamamah programme in the Middle East, Group Managing Director of BAE’s defence activities, and ultimately as Group Chief Executive. John left BAE Systems in 2002 and since then he has been working with private equity backers, holding board positions at a variety of companies. These currently include AWS Group Holdings Limited, MB Aerospace Holdings Limited, and most recently Lo-Q plc and Fibercore Ltd.

Jeremy Deering

Mr. Jeremy Deering, MA ACA, is Chief Executive Officer, Executive Director, Company Secretary of Torotrak PLC. Jeremy Deering joined Torotrak in late 2006. Prior to being appointed Chief Executive Officer on 31 August 2012, he was Finance and Commercial Director and played a key role in negotiating and delivering the Company’s major licensing agreements. Jeremy was also instrumental in the change in strategy towards diversification of markets and ensuring cash resilience to achieve that plan. Jeremy has held senior executive positions in FTSE 100 groups including Tomkins plc and the United Utilities Group plc, where he was latterly a director of its major energy division, Norweb plc and then Managing Director of the telecommunications division whilst preparing for an intended IPO. He subsequently worked with companies in the small to mid-sized sectors including, in an interim director capacity, System C Healthcare plc through its successful AIM flotation in 2005.

Rex Vevers

Mr. Rex Vevers is Finance Director, Director of Torotrak PLC., since June 28, 2013. Rex Vevers joins from Ceres Power Holdings plc, where he was Group Finance Director from 2006 until February 2013. He brings to Torotrak considerable depth of experience and international commercial and operational experience in both the market introduction of new technologies and in broader industries. Rex qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Arthur Andersen before moving into industry where he held a number of senior finance positions in companies including Pechiney, OSI, and Avon Cosmetics. During his time with Ceres Power, Rex played a lead role in securing commercial contracts and raising funds from institutional and strategic investors to finance the company's growth strategy.

Carole Astin

Ms. Astin joined Torotrak in 2007 as our Business Accountant and was promoted in 2012 to Financial Controller. As a CIMA-qualified Accountant and manager of the Finance department, Carole is responsible for producing the Company’s annual budget and preparing comprehensive monthly reports to the Board, as well as treasury management and periodic cash and income statement forecasting. Carole has also recently taken responsibility for the second phase of the implementation of our new ERP system, EPICOR, including resource and project management.

Ian Cox

Mr. Cox joined Torotrak in 1997 and has worked with us in a number of senior engineering positions across project management, product development and test operations. Specialising in problem solving and test rig design, he has managed and provided technical supervision to all our major international projects and has developed critical IP. In his current role, he is responsible for build, test, operations, quality and procurement. Previously, Ian held a number of senior R&D roles at Eaton Transmissions and Leyland Trucks. He is Chief Engineer - Operations of the Company.

Andrew De Freitas

Mr. Andrew De Freitas is Product Director - V-Charge of Torotrak PLC. Andrew joined Torotrak from the Dowty Group in 1995, becoming Principal Engineer in 2000, Group Leader for Design in 2004 and then Product Director in 2011. He has led the development of our V-Charge product from the start, and as Product Director is responsible for leading this programme. Andrew also heads up Torotrak’s engineering design resources, involving all aspects of transmission design, from concept through calculation and analysis, to detail design and release of manufacturing drawings.

Brian Donohoe

Mr. Donohoe was promoted to this position in 2013 after leading Torotrak’s M-KERS projects as the M-KERS Product Manager. In his new role, he is responsible for leading Torotrak’s activity in the off-highway market, including the construction and agricultural sectors. In his previous Principal Engineer role, he undertook hydraulic control system specification and development activities, transmission system modelling, and managed variator research and transmission application projects. Prior to joining Torotrak in 1999, Brian was employed as a Senior Development Engineer by AGCO, responsible for tractor chassis structural, engine performance and cooling system test and development. He is Product Manager, Off-Highway of the Company.

John Fuller

Mr. John Fuller is Technology Director of Torotrak PLC. John joined Torotrak in 1998 from defence industry company DERA (now Qinetiq) and is responsible for our intellectual property portfolio and its development. He leads Torotrak’s activity to apply and optimise our IP to support key programmes, whilst also managing our important future-focused R&D aimed at next generation technologies. He is also responsible for developing new simulation tools for technology, design, and hydraulic control systems, which are central to the performance of the transmission systems incorporating our technology.

Adrian Lee

Mr. Adrian Lee is Product Leader - Core Variator Components and Traction Fluids of Torotrak PLC. Adrian joined Torotrak in 1998 from Holset Turbochargers. He is responsible for Torotrak’s relationships with material component and fluid supplier partners, and is currently working with seven international fluid, disc, and roller companies. He manages the programmes to test and validate supplier products using our dedicated traction drive test rigs. Adrian is also the technology leader for Torotrak’s tribology and variator traction performance, looking at testing and enhancing the performance of the discs, rollers and fluids to which we have access. He holds a PhD in laser diagnostics of SI engine combustion, and an MBA in Technology Management.

Steve Murray

Mr. Steve Murray is Product Director - Commercial Vehicles Main Drive Transmissions of Torotrak PLC. Steve joined Torotrak in 1997 and is responsible for all commercial vehicle main drive transmission programmes, as well as systems engineering. Steve has contributed significantly to the development of Torotrak’s core traction drive technology and leads the key engineering programmes with Allison Transmission, Inc and our European Truck and Bus Manufacturer.

John McLaren

Mr. John McLaren is Non-Executive Director of Torotrak PLC., since June 28, 2013. John began his career as a diplomat, working both in the Foreign Office in London and in the British Embassy in Tokyo. Following a switch to investment banking, he became a Director of Barings before moving into venture capital, where he was a General Partner with Hambrecht and Quist Venture Partners in San Francisco. In his subsequent career, he was successively a Director of Morgan Grenfell, Deutsche Bank, and Barchester Group, during which time he advised a wide range of companies on mergers and market acquisition transactions, including Daimler-Benz, BMW, Nissan, BBA, and Siemens. John is currently Chairman of Barchester Group and a Non-Executive Director of four privately held companies in the UK and the USA.

Nick Barter

Mr. Nick Barter is Senior Non-Executive Independent Director of Torotrak PLC. Nick Barter was appointed as a Director of Torotrak in November 2003. Prior to this, he was Director of Product Development for Jaguar and Land Rover while it was part of Ford’s Premier Automotive Group. He was responsible for all aspects of planning, design, development, sign-off and introduction of all Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles, leading a team of around 5,000 engineers, designers and analysts. He serves on the Technology Strategy Board’s Steering Group for the Low Carbon Vehicle Innovation Platform and is a Trustee of The British Motor Industry Heritage Trust. He is also a Director of technology company Ultramo Engines.
