Biographies

Name Description

John Weston

Mr. John Pix Weston is Non-Executive Independent Chairman of the Board of Torotrak PLC since 1 June 2011. He began his career at BAE as an undergraduate engineering apprentice in 1970 and subsequently progressed through increasingly senior positions. During his time at BAE, he held many roles within the company, serving as Project Director for the transformational £30 billion Al-Yamamah programme in the Middle East, Group Managing Director of BAE’s defence activities, and ultimately as Group Chief Executive. John left BAE Systems in 2002 and since then he has been working with private equity backers, holding board positions at a variety of companies. These currently include AWS Group Holdings Limited, MB Aerospace Holdings Limited, and most recently Lo-Q plc and Fibercore Ltd.

Jeremy Deering

Mr. Jeremy Deering, MA ACA, serves as Chief Executive Officer, Executive Director, Company Secretary of Torotrak PLC. He has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer of the Company effective August 31, 2012. Jeremy Deering was appointed Finance Director in December 2006 and took over responsibility for commercial activities in January 2011. He has held senior fi nance and commercial positions in FTSE 100 groups including Tomkins plc and the United Utilities Group, where he was Group Financial Controller and then Finance Director of the energy group, Norweb plc, following its takeover. He was acting Managing Director of Your Communications prior to its intended IPO. He subsequently worked with small to mid size companies on the processes of reviewing growth opportunities or change management. This included seeing System C Healthcare plc through its AIM fl otation in 2005, in the role of Interim Director. He is also a Director of Core Ventures Limited and an Executive Director of the joint venture, Rotrak Limited. Jeremy qualifi ed as a Chartered Accountant with Arthur Andersen.

Andrew De Freltas

Mr. Andrew De Freltas is Product Director - V-Charge of Torotrak PLC. Andrew joined Torotrak from the Dowty Group in 1995, becoming Principal Engineer in 2000, Group Leader for Design in 2004 and then Product Director in 2011. He has led the development of variable drive supercharging product from the start, and as Product Director is responsible for programmes for the V-Charge product. Andrew also heads up Torotrak’s engineering design resources, involving all aspects of transmission design, from concept through calculation and analysis, to detail design and release of manufacturing drawings.

John Fuller

Mr. John Fuller is Innovation Director and Product Director - Automotive M-KERS of Torotrak PLC. John joined Torotrak in 1998 from defence industry company DERA (now Qinetiq). John is the Product Director responsible for passenger car M-KERS. He is also responsible for intellectual property (“IP”) as Innovation Director, ensuring a joined up approach to invention based on market need and managing the creation of a IP portfolio. He is also responsible for developing new simulation tools for technology, design, and hydraulic control systems, which are central to the performance of the transmission systems incorporating technology.

Adrian Lee

Mr. Adrian Lee is Product Leader - Core Variator Components and Fluids of Torotrak PLC. Adrian joined Torotrak in 1998 from Holset Turbochargers, where he helped introduce the first heavy-duty diesel variable geometry turbocharger to enter series production. Adrian leads Torotrak’s relationships with component and fluid supplier partners. He manages the programmes to test and validate supplier products using dedicated traction drive test rigs. Adrian is also the technology leader for Torotrak’s tribology and variator traction performance, testing and enhancing the performance of discs, rollers and fluids. He holds a PhD in laser agnostics of SI engine combustion, and an MBA in Technology Management.

Steve Murray

Mr. Steve Murray is Product Director - Commercial Vehicles Main Drive Transmissions of Torotrak PLC. Steve joined Torotrak in 1997 and has been instrumental in many of the developments in Torotrak’s full-toroidal traction drive technology. He is responsible for all commercial vehicle main drive transmission programmes, as well as systems engineering and project management. Steve manages engineering programmes with licensee Allison Transmission, Inc, working closely with Allison’s engineering team in Indianapolis, USA.

Rob Oliver

Mr. Rob Oliver is Product Director - Commercial Vehicles M-KERS and Off-Highway Main Drive Transmissions of Torotrak PLC. Rob came to Torotrak as Project Manager in 1999. From 2008 until 2011, he worked as Chief Operating Officer of a joint venture with MTD Holdings Inc to develop transmission technology for outdoor power equipment. He was previously employed by the AGCO Group for 14 years, where he led UK test and development of tractor transmissions and drivelines including power-shift transmissions. Rob will lead the programme with Optare to take M-KERS to fleet trials, and is responsible for all off-highway product areas. He is also responsible for product development, encompassing test programmes and sourcing.

Garry Wilson

Mr. Garry Wilson has been appointed as Group Director - Engineering and Programme Delivery of Torotrak Plc., effective August 31, 2012. Prior to joining Torotrak in June 2012, Garry was the Director responsible for implementing global growth in engineering capability for Delphi Diesel Systems Aftermarket, part of the top-twenty global vehicle technology supplier Delphi Automotive. He has also held senior positions at Land Rover and at engineering consultancies, delivering high-value powertrain programmes. At Roush Technologies, Garry led European engineering activities across a range of automotive and non-automotive sectors including cars, commercial vehicles, agriculture, and defence, increasing profitable engineering services income fourfold.

Nick Barter

Mr. Nick Barter serves as Senior Non-Executive Independent Director of Torotrak PLC. Nick Barter was appointed as a Director of Torotrak in November 2003. Prior to this, he was Director of Product Development for Jaguar and LandRover, during the time it was part of Ford’s Premier Automotive Group. He was responsible for all aspects of planning, design, development, sign-off and introduction of all Jaguar and LandRover vehicles, a team of around 5,000 engineers, designers and analysts. He serves on the Technology Strategy Board’s Steering Group for the Low Carbon Vehicle Innovation Platform and is a Trustee Director of RoadSafe and of The British Motor Industry Heritage Trust. He is Non-Executive Chairman of the joint venture, Rotrak Limited and has recently become a Director of technology company Ultramo Engines.
