Name Description
Arling, Paul Paul D. Arling is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Universal Electronics Inc. He has held the positions of Chairman since July 2001 and Chief Executive Officer since October 2000. He was the company's President from September 1998 until May 2001. He was the company's Chief Operating Officer from September 1998 until his promotion to Chief Executive Officer in October 2000. He was the company's Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer from May 1996 until August 1998. Prior to joining us, from 1993 through May 1996, he served in various capacities at LESCO, Inc. (a manufacturer and distributor of professional turf care products) with the most recent being Acting Chief Financial Officer.
Hackworth, Bryan Bryan M. Hackworth is Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Universal Electronics Inc. He was promoted from Chief Accounting Officer in August 2006. Mr. Hackworth joined the company in June 2004 as Corporate Controller and subsequently assumed the role of Chief Accounting Officer in May 2006. Before joining the company in 2004, he spent five years at Mars, Inc., a privately held international manufacturer and distributor of consumer products and served in several financial and strategic roles (Controller - Ice Cream Division; Strategic Planning Manager for the WHISKAS ® Brand) and various other financial management positions. Prior to joining Mars Inc., Mr. Hackworth spent six years at Deloitte & Touche LLP as an auditor, specializing in the manufacturing and retail industries.
Bennett, Paul Paul J.M. Bennett is Executive Vice President and Managing Director, Europe of Universal Electronics Inc. He was the company's Managing Director and Senior Vice President, Managing Director, Europe from July 1996 to December 2006. He was promoted to his current position in December 2006. Firehammer, Richard Richard A. Firehammer, Jr., is Senior Vice President, General Counsel, Secretary of Universal Electronics Inc. He has been Senior Vice President of Universal Electronics Inc since February 1999. He has been the company's General Counsel since October 1993 and Secretary since February 1994. Mr. Chahil was a Class II director of the Company from 2002 until June 2006 when he did not stand for re-election due to a change in his employment which precluded him from serving as a director of the Company. In August 2006, Mr. Chahil rejoined the Board as an advisor because his employment no longer precluded him from serving as one of the company's directors. At the 2007 Annual Meeting of Stockholders, Mr. Chahil was reelected as a Class II Director of the Company to serve until the 2008 Annual Meeting of Stockholders.
Zinser, Edward Edward Zinser is Director of Universal Electronics Inc. He is the Chief Financial Officer of Boingo Wireless, the world’s largest Wi-Fi service provider, since January 2008. He was the Executive Vice President and CFO of THQ, Inc., a leading global developer and publisher of interactive entertainment software, from April 2004 to November 2007. From May 2001 until February 2004, Mr. Zinser was Executive Vice President and CFO of Vivendi Universal Games. Prior to Vivendi, he held senior management positions at affiliate companies of USA Networks Inc. Vogel, Carl Mr. Carl Vogel is Director of Universal Electronics Inc. Mr. Vogel is a partner at SCP Worldwide, a sports, media and entertainment company that owns and operates a variety of high profile companies including the National Hockey League's St. Louis Blues and League Soccer's Real Salt Lake.
