Name Description

Michael Treschow

Mr. Michael Treschow serves as Independent Non-Executive Chairman of the Board of Unilever NV since May 2007. He is Member of the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee and Member of the Compensation and Management Resources Committee. He earned a Master of Engineering degree from the Institute of Technology, Lund, Sweden. He is also Non-Executive Director at ABB Group and Chairman of Dometic Group, Board Member of Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation. He is also Member of the European Advisory, Eli Lilly and Company. Prior to that, he served as Chairman at Telefonaktiebolaget LM Ericsson (2002-2011), Chairman at AB Electrolux (2004-2007), Confederation of Swedish Enterprise (2004-2007). CEO at AB Electrolux (1997-2002) and worked for Atlas Copco from 1991 until 1997.

Paul Polman

Mr. Paul Polman serves as Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of Unilever NV. Mr. Polman was appointed Executive Director of the Company in October 2008. He assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer on January 1, 2009. He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration/Bachelor of Arts from the University of Groningen, Netherlands, in 1977 and a Masters of Arts in Economics and Masters of Business Administration in Finance/International Marketing from the University of Cincinnati in 1979. He has honorary degrees from the Universities of Northumbria, Newcastle, United Kingdom (2000) and the University of Cincinnati, United States (2009). Currently, he serves as Non-Executive Director of The Dow Chemical Company, President at Kilimanjaro Blind Trust. He is also Vice-Chairman of Executive Committee at World Business Council for Sustainable Development.

Kornelis Storm

Mr. Kornelis J. (Kees) Storm serves as Non-Executive Vice-Chairman of the Board and Senior Independent Director of Unilever NV. He has been Director at the Company since May, 2006. He is Member of the Audit Committee and Member of the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee and Member of the Compensation and Management Resources Committee. He began his career as Assistant Accountant. He then spent two years as a military lieutenant before attending the University of Rotterdam, where he was awarded a Master of Arts in Business Economics in 1969. His first role after graduating was at Moret & Limperg. After six years there he was appointed to the Executive Board of Kon Scholten-Honig in 1976. He then took up a position on the Executive Board of AEGON, where he subsequently took responsibility for regions including the United States, the Netherlands and Europe. In 1993 he became Chairman of the Board at AEGON, stepping down in 2002. His career has since involved him with some of companies: he sits on the Supervisory Boards of KLM. He is Member of the Supervisory Board at AGEON NV, Chairman of Anheuser-Busch InBev S.A., Board Member at Baxter International, Inc. and Vice-chairman of Supervisory board at Pon Holdings B.V. Previously he was Chairman of Executive Board at AEGON N.V. (1993-2002).

Jean-Marc Huet

Mr. Jean-Marc Huet serves as Chief Financial Officer of Unilever NV since February 2010. He has been proposed to serve as Executive Director of the Company effect from the Annual General Meeting in May, 2010. Prior to joining the Company, he held Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer roles at Bristol-Myers Squibb Company, as well as a place on the Executive Committee. He was Non-Executive Director at Mead Johnson Nutrition in 2009. Antoine de Saint-Affrique

Mr. Antoine Bernard de Saint-Affrique serves as President - Foods of Unilever NV since November, 2011. Prior to this, he was Executive Vice President of Unilever’s Skin category - an area of the business which includes leading brands such as Dove, Lux, Lifebuoy and Pond’s. From early 2005 to mid-2009, he was Executive Vice President for Unilever’s Central and Eastern Europe region - an area covering 21 countries. Before joining the Company in 2000, he was Marketing Vice President and partner at Amora Maille, a foods company which was acquired under a leveraged buyout from the Danone Group. He served as a reserve naval officer between 1987 and 1988. He has a Masters of Business Administration from ESSEC in Paris, and a qualification in executive education from Harvard Business School. Since 2004, he has led the marketing course at Mines ParisTech (Corps des Mines) an engineering schools in France. He is Non-Executive Director at ophthalmic company Essilor International, among others.

Kevin Havelock

Mr. Kevin Havelock serves as President - Refreshment of Unilever NV since September 2011. Prior to this, he was Executive Vice President, Global Ice Cream category, with overall responsibility for the Company's global Ice Cream businesses. In 2007 he was appointed Executive Vice President for Unilever North America and Caribbean. Since joining the Company in 1985, he has held senior leadership positions around the world. Among these are the role of Chairman for Unilever UK, Unilever France and Unilever Arabia, and Chairman for Unilever's Beverages business across Europe. He holds an Master of Arts in Economics and Mathematics from Jesus College, Cambridge University.

Alan Jope

Mr. Alan Jope serves as President - North Asia of Unilever NV since November 2011. Prior to this, he was Chairman of the Company in Greater China since 2009. His previous senior roles include global category leader for several of the Foods categories, and President of Unilever’s Home & Personal Care business in North America - both based just outside New York City. From 1999 to 2000, he was in Chicago as Vice President of Marketing for the Helene Curtis business. Prior to that, from 1995 to 1998, he served as Vice President, Personal Care for Unilever Thailand with additional responsibility for Hair Care in Asia Pacific. Earlier, he worked in a number of sales and marketing roles in London and the United States after joining the Company in 1985. He has a Bachelor of Commerce with honors from Edinburgh University, Scotland. He also graduated from Harvard Business School's General Management Program in 2001. He is Member of the Advisory Board for China at Enactus.

Kees Kruythoff

Mr. Kees Kruythoff serves as President - North America of Unilever NV since November 2011. Previous posts in the Company include: Executive Vice President Brazil 2008; Chairman of Unilever Foods South Africa 2004; and Member of the board of Unilever Bestfoods Asia 2002. He is Member of the Worldwide Board of Directors at Enactus, Board Member of USA Grocery Manufacturing Association.

Dave Lewis

Mr. Dave Lewis serves as President - Personal Care at Unilever NV since May 2010. He has had a long career at the Company and moving through different roles in Europe, South America and Asia. During his first nine years he held a variety of marketing (local/European) and customer management roles. He became Marketing Operations manager in 1993. In 1996, he moved to South America, to be Marketing Director of River Plate (Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay). His next move was to Indonesia in 1999, where he was Managing Director of Unilever Indonesia’s personal care business and regional innovation leader for personal care South East Asia. He took the Advanced Management Program at Harvard University and then served as Senior Vice President for Home and Personal Care, Central and Eastern Europe for three years. He then returned to the UK and his Kingston roots in 2005 as Managing Director of the UK home and personal care business. In 2007 he became Chairman of Unilever UK and Ireland, as the company consolidated its three separate operating companies - foods, home and personal care and ice cream into a single business as part of its One Unilever program. He was appointed to the Unilever Executive as President for the Americas in 2010. In 2011 following reorganization of the Unilever Leadership Executive he became Global President for the Personal Care business. He is Non-Executive Director of British Sky Broadcasting Group PLC.

Nitin Paranjpe

Jan Zijderveld

Mr. Jan Zijderveld serves as President - Europe at Unilever NV since February 2011. He joined the Company in 1987, moving through a variety of roles in Australasia, Europe, the Middle East and Asia. From 1992, he spent five years in marketing roles at Unilever Netherlands in Rotterdam. In 1997, the role of Marketing Director combined with the director’s role for the European Olive Oil category brought him to Milan, Italy. His next move was to Stockholm in 2000 as Chairman of Unilever’s Nordic ice cream business; then in 2004 he relocated to Dubai as Chairman of Unilever’s businesses in Arabia and Iran. In 2007, he became Chairman of Unilever’s Middle East and North Africa-based businesses, representing 20 countries. In 2008, he moved to Singapore, as Executive Vice President of Unilever South East Asia and Australasia. He is Board Member at AIM, FoodDrinkEurope, Pepsi/Unilever Lipton JV, Board Member and Co-Chair of ECR Europe (Efficient Consumer Response), Member at Groupe d'Ouchy and Member of Dutch Advisory Council, INSEAD.

Harish Manwani

Mr. Harish Manwani serves as Chief Operating Officer of Unilever NV since September 2011. He previously served as President Asia and Africa, and Asia Africa and Central & Eastern Europe. He is an honours graduate from Mumbai University and has a Master's degree in management studies. He also attended the Advanced Management Program at the Harvard Business School. He joined Hindustan Lever (HLL) in 1976, becoming Member of the HLL board 1995 as Director responsible for the Personal Products business. As category leader for Personal Products, he also held regional responsibility for the Central Asia and Middle East business group. In 2000, he moved to the United Kingdom as Senior Vice President, Global Hair Care and Oral Care, and in 2001 was appointed President, Home and Personal Care, Latin America business group. He also served as Chairman of Unilever's Latin America Advisory Council. In 2004, he was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of the HPC North America business group, and in April 2005 joined the Unilever Executive as President, Asia Africa. He is also Non-Executive Chairman of Hindustan Lever and is currently Member of the Executive Board of the Indian School of Business, among others.

Keith Weed

Mr. Keith Weed serves as Chief Marketing and Communication Officer at Unilever NV since April 2010. He began his career with Michelin. He holds a first-class degree in Engineering from the University of Liverpool. He is responsible for the marketing and communication functions. Prior to this he was Executive Vice President for Global Home Care & Hygiene, covering Fabric Cleaning, Fabric Conditioning, Household Cleaning Products, Oral Care and Potable Water. Previously he was Chairman of Lever Faberge and Chairman of Unilever Export. He has worked for Unilever in the United Kingdom, France and the United States, as well as in a variety of global and regional management and marketing roles. He is also Non-Executive Director of Sun Products Corporation, among others.

Genevieve Berger

Prof. Genevieve Berger serves as Chief Scientific Officer of Unilever NV since July 2008. She was educated in physics and medicine, and holds three doctorates: a Doctorate in Philosophy in Physics, a Doctorate in Philosophy in Human Biology and a Medical Doctorate. She was appointed Professor of Medicine at the Pierre and Marie Curie University (UPMC), France in 1996, and held the position of Professor and Hospital Practitioner at La Pitie-Salpetriere Teaching Hospital, France from 2003 to 2008. She served as Director of the Biotech and Agri-Food Department at the French Ministry for Education, Research and Technology from 1998 to 2000, and was appointed Head of the Technology Directorate at the French Ministry of Research in 2000. From 2000 to 2003 she was Director General of the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS). She served as Chairman of the Advisory Group - Health for the European Commission from 2006 to 2008. She was also Non-Executive Director of the Company from 2007 to 2008. She was appointed Non-Executive Director of Smith & Nephew PLC in March 2010. Currently, she is Non-Executive Director at AstraZeneca PLC.

David Blanchard

Mr. David Blanchard serves as Chief Category R&D Officer of Unilever NV since February, 2013. Prior to joining the Company, he served as Senior Vice President for Unilever Research & Development, Chairman of Unilever Canada Inc., SVP Marketing Operations Foods America and VP R&D for Global Dressings. He was Director of Product Development for Margarine and Spreads.

Ritva Sotamaa

Ms. Ritva Sotamaa serves as Chief Legal Officer of Unilever NV since February, 2013. Prior to Company, she served as General Counsel for Siemens AG – Siemens Healthcare and held several posts at General Electric – GE Healthcare (the most recent being General Counsel, GE Healthcare Systems) and General Counsel at Instrumentarium Corporation.

Douglas Baillie

Mr. Douglas Anderson Baillie serves Chief Human Resources Officer of Unilever NV since February 2011. He was educated in Zimbabwe. He graduated from the University of Natal with majors in Business Finance, Marketing and Business Administration and joined Unilever South Africa in 1978. His career over the years has spanned several Sales and Marketing positions, including a secondment to Lever Rexona in Australia in 1987. On his return to South Africa in late 1988, he took up the position of Sales Director, which was followed by a spell as Marketing Director. He moved to London in 1994 to Personal Products Co-ordination where he became Regional Liaison Member for Africa, Middle East, Central and Eastern Europe and Turkey before becoming Vice President, Home and Personal Care for the Africa Business Group. He was appointed Managing Director Lever Pond's South Africa in 1997 and National Manager, Unilever South Africa, in May 2000. Whilst in this position he served on several external Boards including the Advertising Standards Authority, the Consumer Goods Council of South Africa and was Member of Presidential Big Business working group. In March 2004, he took over as President, Africa Regional Group and in July 2004, took on additional responsibility for North Africa, Middle East & Turkey. In April 2005, he was appointed Group Vice-President - Africa, Middle East & Turkey (AMET). He moved to India in March 2006 and was appointed Chief Executive Officer, Hindustan Unilever Limited and Group Vice President, South Asia. In this role he served on a number of Industry Bodies including the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Associated Chambers of Commerce & Industry of India (ASSOCHAM), Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI), and the Bombay Chamber of Commerce & Industry. In May 2008 he became President of Western Europe, joining the Company’s Executive Committee. He serves as Board Member of Synergos.

Pier Luigi Sigismondi

Mr. Pier Luigi Sigismondi serves as Chief Supply Chain Officer of Unilever NV since September 2009. He joined the Company in June 2009. He holds a Masters in Industrial & Systems Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, Georgia. He started his career with Booz Allen & Hamilton as an industrial engineer working in the aerospace and automotive industries and heading several multi-national assignments in the United States and Europe. He joined global management consultancy A T Kearney in 1997 as Principal, becoming Vice President of operations in Italy. Focusing on strategic procurement, manufacturing and logistics across industries, including fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), appliances and retail, he led several assignments in South East Asia, Europe and Latin America. In 2002, he joined Nestle SA as Vice President of Corporate Operations Strategies, based in Switzerland. He was responsible for industrial strategies and the restructuring of the group worldwide as well as for management of global cost improvement programs. He moved to Nestle Mexico in 2005 as Vice President of Supply Chain and R&D.

Tonia Lovell

Ms. Tonia E. Lovell serves as Group Secretary of Unilever NV since July 2010. In 1997, Ms. Lovell joined the Legal department of Unilever, based in the company's Global Corporate Centre in Blackfriars, London, working on United Kingdom and corporate matters for the next six years. These included the acquisition of Bestfoods and the subsequent sale of a portfolio of businesses to Campbell's, as well as a number competition law-related issues to do with ice cream. In 2003, Ms. Lovell was appointed General Counsel for Unilever's United Kingdom business. In 2007, this role expanded to General Counsel for the Company's businesses in both the United Kingdom and Ireland, and Ms. Lovell became Member of the company's UK/Ireland Leadership Team. She remained in this role until February 2010, before taking on her current position.

Louise Fresco

Prof. Louise O. Fresco serves as Non-Executive Director of Unilever NV since May 2009. She is also Member of the Company’s Corporate Responsibility Committee. From 1990 to 1997, she was Professor of Plant Production Systems and Chair of the Department of Agronomy at Wageningen University. From 1997 to 2006, she held various positions at the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations, including that of assistant director-general, Agriculture Department. She is Professor of international development and sustainability at the University of Amsterdam. She currently serves as Supervisory Director at RABO Bank and Member of Social and Economic Council of the Netherlands (SER).

Ann Fudge

Ms. Ann M. Fudge serves as Non-Executive Director of Unilever NV since May 2009. She is Member of the Nominating & Corporate Governance Committee and Compensation & Management Resources at the Company. She is Non-Executive Director at Infosys, Novartis AG and at General Electric Co., as well as Chairman of US Programs Advisory Panel of Gates Foundation and Honorary Director of Catalyst, among others. From 1993-2003 she served on the board of Honeywell International Inc and from 2001 to 2003 was Non-Executive Director of Marriott International Inc. From 2003 to 2006, she served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Young & Rubicam Brands. Byron Grote

Dr. Byron E. Grote serves as Non-Executive Director of Unilever NV since May 8, 2006. He is also Chairman of the Audit Committee of the Company. After receiving a Doctorate in Philosophy in Quantitative Analysis from Cornell University, he joined Standard Oil of Ohio in 1979. During the next five years he took on management responsibilities in international oil supply planning, logistics and crude oil trading. In 1985, he became Director of Planning for Standard Oil’s mining subsidiary, Kennecott, and in 1986 he was appointed Vice-President of retail sales. Following BP’s acquisition of the Standard Oil minority, he was appointed in 1988 as Commercial-Vice President for the company's Alaskan production activities. The next year he relocated to London to become Commercial General Manager for BP Exploration. In 1992 he became Group Treasurer and Chief Executive Officer of BP Finance, before moving to Colombia to become regional chief executive. 1995 saw him return to London as Deputy Chief Executive Officer of BP Exploration. He became Group Chief of Staff in 1997 and, following the merger of BP and Amoco, in 1999 he was appointed Executive Vice-President for Exploration and Production. During 1999 and 2000 he was responsible for directing the acquisition of ARCO and managing the integration of their operations into BP. In 2000 he joined the board of BP plc and became Chief Executive of BP Chemicals. In 2002 he was appointed to his current post of Chief Financial Officer. Besides his contribution at BP, he has also served as Vice-Chairman of the UK Government’s Public Services Productivity Panel and Chairman of the Chemicals Innovation and Growth Team. He has also sat on advisory panels around the world, assisting the UK Government’s Asia Task Force, the Governor of Guangdong Province in China and the Johnson School of Management at Cornell. Currently he is Executive Vice President at Corporate Business Activities, BP p.l.c.

Hixonia Nyasulu

Ms. Hixonia Nyasulu serves as Non-Executive Director of Unilever NV since May 16, 2007. She is Member of the Corporate Responsibility Committee. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work and an honors degree in Psychology. She graduated from Keplan University. She also holds an Executive Leadership Development Program Certificate from the Arthur D Little Management Education Institute in Massachusetts. She is Founder of Ayavuna Women's Investments (Pty) Ltd. Before founding Ayavuna in 2004, she ran T.H. Malcolm Rifkind

Rt. Hon. Sir Malcolm Rifkind serves as Non-Executive Director of Unilever NV since May 12, 2010. He is Chairman of the Company's Corporate Responsibility Committee. He serves as Non-Executive Director at Adam Smith International and Continental Farmers Group plc. Previously he was a Queen's Counsel. He is Non-Executive Director of FedEx Corporation Inc. and Avanti Communications Group PLC.
