Name Description

Surinder Kumar

 Dr. Surinder G. Kumar, Ph.D., is Chairman of the Board, Chief Executive Officer of Vecima Networks Inc. In 1988, he founded the company now known as Vecima Networks Inc. Dr. Kumar was a professor and holder of the Natural Science and Engineering Research Council's Industrial Chair in Telecommunications at the University of Saskatchewan from 1987 to 1997. From 1982 to 1987, he was Vice President of Research for SED Systems where he was involved in the design of a variety of satellite earth stations. Prior to 1982, he worked with a government research laboratory in India. Dr. Kumar received his Bachelor of Engineering degree in electrical communication engineering in 1967 from the India Institute of Science, Bangalore, India and his Masters of Technology degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, India in 1971. He received his Ph.D. in Electronics Engineering from Carleton University, Ottawa, Canada where he was a Commonwealth Scholar. Dr. Kumar was named 1998 Entrepreneur of the Year for Western Canada and 2005 Entrepreneur of the Year for the Pacific Region in Information Technology.

Sumit Kumar

 Mr. Sumit Kumar is President of Vecima Networks Inc. Mr. Kumar was a Business Development Engineer for Vecima from 2001 to 2006 and was Vice President, Corporate Strategy for Vecima from 2006 to 2009. Mr. Kumar has technical and executive experience with the Company, having worked in the Research & Development department on the architecture and development of EdgeQAM and WiMax products as well as within the business development and senior management groups since joining the Company in 1995. Mr. Kumar holds a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering degree and a Bachelor of Computer Science degree from the University of Saskatchewan.

John Hanna

 Mr. John Hanna is Chief Financial Officer of Vecima Networks Inc. In the six years prior to joining Vecima, Mr. Hanna was an executive at iFire Technology, a developer of a low cost flat panel display, where he was Vice President Finance & Administration. Prior to iFire, Mr. Hanna spent seven years with The Westaim Corporation where he held a number of positions of increasing responsibility including Director Corporate Development, VP Investments, and VP Finance & Administration of Nucryst Pharmaceuticals. At Westaim, he participated in a variety of corporate Merger & Aquisitions transactions including the investment in and sale of a number of businesses. Mr. Hanna has served as a board member of a number of private technology companies and holds Master in Business Administration in Finance & Strategy from the University of British Columbia and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Victoria.

Hugh Wood

 Dr. Hugh C. Wood is Chief Operating Officer and Director of Vecima Networks Inc. Dr. Wood is a graduate of the University of Saskatchewan with degrees in Engineering and in Applied Physics. He is a registered Professional Engineer in the Province of Saskatchewan. After post-doctoral studies in Stockholm, Sweden, Dr. Wood joined SED Systems in Saskatoon as an R&D engineer. He became manager of R&D for the company, directing the development of a full line of industrial monitors and controllers. After a change of priorities at SED, Dr. Wood became a faculty member of the Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of Saskatchewan in 1980 and was the Department Head from 1993 until 2000. Dr. Wood has served as a member of the Saskatchewan ICT Council and the Enterprise Saskatchewan Sector Team on Manufacturing where he advised the Provincial Government on policy issues surrounding the growth and expansion of the IT industry in Saskatchewan. He is also a volunteer Director and Past President of the Saskatchewan Orchestral Association. He is a member of the Board of Directors of St. Paul?s Hospital in Saskatoon, and a member of the Quality and Safety Committee of the Saskatoon Health Region.

Doug Hartman

 Mr. Doug Hartman is Senior Vice President - Sales and Marketing of Vecima Networks Inc. Mr. Hartman was Executive Director, Enterprise at TELUS Corporation from May 2010 through June 2011 and was a consultant from September 2008 through May 2010. From January 2005 through August 2008, Mr. Hartman was Vice President, Global Sales at Corinex Communications.

Marshall Sali

 Mr. Marshall Sali is Senior Vice President - Operations of Vecima Networks Inc. Mr. Sali was Director of Operations at Vecima from 2008 to 2010 and has been Senior Vice President, Operations at Vecima since 2010. Prior to joining Vecima, Mr. Sali was Materials Manager at CNH Saskatoon from 2002 to 2008.

Barry Baptie

 Mr. Barry A. Baptie has been appointed as Lead Independent Director of Vecima Networks Inc., effective February 11, 2013. He was employed as Executive Vice President of Technology and Operations for TELUS Corporation until his retirement in August 2004. In that capacity, he was responsible for the planning, implementation and operation of the national wireline telecommunications network. This included accountability for the delivery and assurance of all voice, data and Internet protocol (IP) based services for the consumer and business customer segments across Canada. Prior to this appointment, he was Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at TELUS. Mr. Baptie has also held senior positions at Edmonton Telephones (Ed Tel), before and after the company?s acquisition by TELUS. At Ed Tel, Mr. Baptie was CFO responsible for strategy, regulatory, billing and administrative services, customer services and finance functions. Mr. Baptie received a BA in history and an MBA from the University of Alberta. He also received a CMA designation in 1979 and was the Alberta Gold Medal recipient. In 2000, he received a fellowship designation from the CMA.

Vincent Gallant

 Mr. Vincent Gallant has been appointed as Director of Vecima Networks Inc., with effect from May 7, 2013. Mr. Gallant is President of Blackline Financial Inc., a business valuation firm in Edmonton, Alberta. Vince received a BA (Economics) from the University of Alberta and articled to become a Chartered Accountant (CA) with KPMG. Most of his career has been spent working for medium and public companies in senior finance roles. Vince was Controller for Alberta Energy Company Ltd. (AEC and now part of EnCana), Controller for Edmonton Telephones (ED TEL and now part of TELUS) and Vice President Finance for North American Energy Partners Inc. (NAEP). Mr. Gallant was also corporate secretary to the board of directors for NAEP and was CFO for Titanium Corporation Inc.
