Biographies

Name Description
Berrill, Fraser Mr. Berrill first became a trustee in 2006 and became Board Chair of Vicwest Income Fund in February 2009. Mr. Berrill is the President of Fragin Holdings Limited, a private investment company, and former President, Chief Executive Officer and director of Renasant Financial Partners Ltd., which is a financial services and technology trading organization. He has served as a director of Goldlist Properties Ltd., Tri-White Corporation and several private companies. From 1991 to 2000, Mr. Berrill was Senior Vice President, Corporate Development of Acklands Limited which sold its industrial distribution and auto parts assets to WW Grainger Ltd. and Carquest Ltd., thereafter transforming into Morguard Corporation, one of Canada’s largest real estate concerns. Mr. Berrill is a member of The Bar of Ontario and holds a designation of Chartered Director from McMaster University.
Osborne, Colin Mr. Osborne was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of the Fund effective October 1, 2007 and Trustee effective 2008. Mr. Osborne has 20 years of broad experience in the metals and manufacturing industry, most of it in senior operating and general management positions at Stelco Inc. — an Ontariobased industrial group and leading supplier of value-added steel products to North American automotive, construction and manufacturing sectors. During that time, he set productivity, cost, quality and health & safety records at several manufacturing sites, and from 2004 to 2006, he acted as Chief Operating Officer, helping develop and execute the company’s strategic plan and manage negotiations and relations with customers, employees, suppliers, investors and government agencies. More recently Mr. Osborne has provided private consulting services in and outside the steel industry. He has had several significant M&A transactions and extensive capital market experience including assisting in the raising of over $200 million of equity in North America and Europe. Mr. Osborne currently serves on two boards of private companies: Tube City IMS/Onex and Thomson Gordon Inc. Mr. Osborne is a professional engineer and has completed the Executive Program at the Queen’s University School of Business and has a Bachelor of Engineering (Materials/Metallurgy) degree from McGill University. Mr. Osborne first became an executive officer in 2007.
Slattery, John John Slattery serves as Chief Financial Officer, Executive Vice President of Vicwest Income Fund effective July 16, 2007. Mr. Slattery has over 18 years of experience creating value primarily in the manufacturing sector at multi-division and/or multi-national companies such as Jannock Limited, Jenisys Engineered Products, Corporate Express Canada, and more recently at Armtec Infrastructure Income Fund, where he served as Senior Vice President, Finance and CFO. Mr. Slattery also worked seven years at Coopers & Lybrand (now PricewaterhouseCoopers), where he became a Chartered Accountant. Mr. Slattery first became an executive officer in 2007.
Wilson, Jack Jack Wilson was appointed Vice President, Finance of Vicwest Corporation as of the Plan Implementation Date. Mr. Wilson originally joined Vicwest Corporation in 1987 as Controller, Ontario Region. In 1993 he was appointed Chief Financial Officer of the Vicwest Canada division of Jenisys Engineered Products, and in 1998 his responsibilities were expanded to include the Vicwest US operations. From 2001 to 2003 he held the position of Vice President and Controller, Vicwest North American Operations. Mr. Wilson is a chartered accountant and was a manager with Coopers & Lybrand prior to joining Vicwest. Mr. Wilson holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree and an MBA from McMaster University. Mr. Wilson first became an executive officer of the Fund in 2005.
Gillam, Keith Mr. Gillam first became a trustee of Vicwest Income Fund in 2003. He is currently Chairman and Chief Executive Officer and the largest shareholder of the Vanbots Construction Group of Companies, an internationally recognized construction organization headquartered in Markham, Ontario. Mr. Gillam acquired Vanbots Construction in 1991 and over the past sixteen years has successfully grown the organization, expanding the business in Canada, the United States and Great Britain. Prior to Vanbots, Mr. Gillam had a 24-year career with privately owned Dalton Engineering & Construction Company, ultimately holding the position of Senior Vice President. Mr. Gillam has received significant recognition for his contributions to the construction industry including a fellowship in the Chartered Institute of Building and the Robert Stollery Award given for individual leadership and excellence by the Canadian Construction Industry. He is past Chairman of the Toronto Construction Association, is a member of the Canadian Institute of Quantity Surveyors and a certified member of the Institute of Corporate Directors, graduating from the Rotman school of Management, University of Toronto.
Hampson, Philip Mr. Hampson serves as Trustee of Vicwest Income Fund. He is President of NGPI Canada Inc. – a Toronto based merchant banking firm. Previously, Mr. Hampson was a director and officer of a number of Newshore Capital Group affiliates which made private debt and equity investments and participated in structured finance transactions. Mr. Hampson has served as an advisor to Deans Knight Capital Management, a high yield bond manager, and as a Senior Director in the merchant banking practice of CIT. Prior to working at CIT, he worked almost 10 years for Bankers Trust Company and its successor Deutsche Bank, in the Capital Markets Division with responsibilities for fixed income, foreign exchange and commodities derivatives structuring and sales, and subsequently in the investment banking division where he was a Managing Director with responsibilities that included high yield debt, leveraged finance, mergers and acquisitions and restructuring advisory services. In addition, Mr. Hampson serves as a director on the boards of Madison Telecommunications Holdings Inc. (a regulated telco) and Deans Knight Income Corporation, an investment company focused on investing in corporate bonds. Mr. Hampson first became a director in 2003 and then a trustee upon completion of the conversion from a corporate entity to an income fund.
Mang, Wayne Mr. Mang serves as Independent Trustee of Vicwest Income Fund. He retired in 1997 from Russel Metals Inc. as President, a position he had held since 1991. Mr. Mang joined the Russel Group of Companies in 1964 and served in various senior positions in locations across Canada. Mr. Mang is currently non-executive Chairman of Wainbee Holdings Ltd. He previously served on the boards of Revenue Properties Company Limited, Maverick Tube Corporation, Russel Metals Inc., Laclede Steel Company and on the boards of various steel institutes including Metals Service Center Institute, The Steel Alliance and the Canadian Steel Service Centre Institute. Mr. Mang is a chartered accountant and a retired member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Saskatchewan. Mr. Mang first became a director in 2003 and then a trustee upon completion of the conversion from a corporate entity to an income fund.
