Name Description

Joseph Tucci

Mr. Joseph M. Tucci is Chairman of the Board of VMware Inc. Mr. Tucci has been the Chairman of the board of directors of EMC since January 2006 and has been its Chief Executive Officer and a director since January 2001. Mr. Tucci is a member of EMC’s Finance Committee and Mergers and Acquisitions Committee. Mr. Tucci has served as EMC’s President since January 2000. He also served as EMC’s Chief Operating Officer from January 2000 to January 2001. Prior to joining EMC, Mr. Tucci served as Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Getronics N.V., an information technology services company, from June 1999 through December 1999 and as Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Wang Global, an information technology services company, from December 1993 to June 1999. Mr. Tucci is also a director of Paychex, Inc., a provider of payroll, human resources and benefits outsourcing solutions, where he is the Lead Independent Director and Chairman of the Governance and Compensation Committee.

Carl Eschenbach

Mr. Carl M. Eschenbach serves as President, Chief Operating Officer of VMware Inc. He was appointed Chief Operating Officer and Co-President of VMware in April 2012 and became President and Chief Operating Officer in December 2012. Mr. Eschenbach had previously served as VMware's Co-President, Customer Operations from January 2011 to April 2012 and as VMware's Executive Vice President of Worldwide Field Operations from May 2005 to January 2011. Prior to joining VMware in 2002, he was Vice President of North America Sales at Inktomi from 2000 to 2002. He also held various sales management positions with 3Com Corporation, Lucent Technologies Inc. and EMC.

Patrick Gelsinger

Mr. Patrick P. Gelsinger serves as Chief Executive Officer, Director of VMware Inc. He has served with EMC as President and Chief Operating Officer, EMC Information Infrastructure Products since September 2009. Mr. Gelsinger joined EMC from Intel Corporation, a designer and manufacturer of advanced integrated digital technology platforms, where he was Senior Vice President and Co-General Manager of Intel Corporation’s Digital Enterprise Group from 2005 to September 2009 and served as Intel’s Senior Vice President, Chief Technology Officer from 2001 to 2005. Prior to this, Mr. Gelsinger led Intel’s Desktop Products Group.

Jonathan Chadwick

Mr. Jonathan C. Chadwick serves as Chief Financial Officer, Executive Vice President of VMware Inc. He was appointed as Principal Accounting Officer of the Company on February 15, 2013 and Chief Financial Officer, Executive Vice President of the Company on November 5, 2012. He has most recently been Chief Financial Officer of Skype, a provider of Internet-based voice communication, where he has been since March 2011 and a Corporate Vice President of Microsoft Corporation since its acquisition of Skype in October 2011. Mr. Chadwick joined Skype from McAfee, an antivirus software and computer security company, where he was the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer from June 2010 until February 2011. From 1997 to 2010, Mr. Chadwick held various finance roles at Cisco Systems, a networking equipment company. Mr. Chadwick served as Senior Vice President, CFO – Global Customer Markets from July 2009 to June 2010, Senior Vice President, Corporate Controller and Principal Accounting Officer from June 2007 until July 2009, Vice President, Corporate Controller and Principal Accounting Officer from September 2006 to June 2007 and Vice President, Corporate Finance & Planning from February 2001 to September 2006. Mr. Chadwick currently serves on the board of F5 Networks, Inc., an application delivery networking company.

Sanjay Poonen

Mr. Sanjay Poonen has been appointed as Executive Vice President, General Manager - End-User Computing Business Unit of VMware, Inc., with effect from August 6, 2013. In this role, Poonen is responsible for strategy, products, engineering and delivery across all of VMware's end-user computing solutions. During his 20-year career in the technology industry, Poonen has held a variety of management roles in engineering, products, sales, marketing and business development. Most recently, Poonen was president and corporate officer of Platform Solutions and the Mobile Division at SAP AG. During his more than seven years at SAP, Poonen held several executive-level roles in development and sales. Poonen started SAP's analytics business in 2006, and led all of SAP's platform solutions -- analytics, database, big data and mobility -- to become a part of the company's revenue. Prior to SAP, Poonen held executive roles at Symantec, VERITAS and Informatica, and he began his career as a software engineer at Microsoft, followed by Apple. Poonen holds two patents as well as an MBA from Harvard Business School, a master's degree from Stanford University and a bachelor's degree from Dartmouth College.

Rangarajan Raghuram

Mr. Rangarajan Raghuram serves as Executive Vice President - Cloud Infrastructure and Management of VMware Inc., since April 2012. Mr. Raghuram joined VMware in 2003 and has held multiple product management and marketing roles. Mr. Raghuram served as Senior Vice President and General Manager, Cloud Infrastructure and Management, Virtualization and Cloud Platforms, and Enterprise Products, from December 2009 through March 2012. Mr. Raghuram previously served as Vice President of VMware's Server Business Unit and of Product and Solutions Marketing from September 2003 through December 2009. Prior to VMware, Mr. Raghuram held product management and marketing roles at Netscape and Bang Networks.

Kevan Krysler

Mr. Kevan Krysler has been appointed as Senior Vice President, Chief Accounting Officer of VMware Inc., effective August 19, 2013. He has most recently been a partner with KPMG, an accounting firm, since 2005 where he served both multi-national and emerging software and technology companies.

Tony Scott

Mr. Tony Scott has been appointed as Senior Vice President, Chief Information Officer of VMware, Inc., with effect from August 26, 2013. Scott brings more than 30 years of experience running global IT operations for corporations. Most recently, Scott served as corporate vice president and chief information officer of Microsoft Corp, where he was responsible for security, infrastructure, messaging and business applications for all of Microsoft, including support of the product groups, the corporate business groups, and the global sales and marketing organization. Before joining Microsoft, Scott served as senior vice president and chief information officer of The Walt Disney Co., and chief technology officer at General Motors Corp. A member of CIO magazine's CIO Hall of Fame, Scott has a bachelor of science in information systems management from the University of San Francisco and also holds a juris doctorate from Santa Clara University.

Ms. S. Dawn Smith serves as Chief Compliance Officer, Senior Vice President, General Counsel, Secretary of VMware Inc. She has been the Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary at VMware since September 2009 and Chief Compliance Officer since August 2010. Prior to joining VMware, she was a partner at Morrison & Foerster LLP, a law firm, since January 2008 and served as an attorney since 2005. Prior to joining Morrison & Foerster LLP, she was an attorney at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati P.C.

Pamela Craig

Ms. Pamela J. Craig has been appointed as Director of VMware, Inc., effective September 10, 2013. Ms. Craig was employed at Accenture plc, a global management consulting, technology services and outsourcing organization, in various operational and finance roles for 34 years, most recently serving as Chief Financial Officer from October 2006 until her retirement in 2013. She was Senior Vice President, Finance of Accenture from March 2004 to October 2006 and served as its Group Director, Business Operations & Services from March 2003 to March 2004, and Managing Partner, Global Business Operations from June 2001 to March 2003. Prior to 2001, Ms. Craig had leadership roles in different parts of Accenture's business, both domestically and globally, in consumer products and media and entertainment. Ms. Craig is also a director of Akamai Technologies, where she is currently the chair of the Audit Committee.

John Egan

Mr. John R. Egan is Director of VMware Inc. Mr. Egan is also a member of the board of directors of EMC, on which he has served since May 1992. Mr. Egan is a member of EMC’s Finance Committee and chair of EMC’s Mergers and Acquisitions Committee. Mr. Egan has been a managing partner and general partner in Egan-Managed Capital, a venture capital firm, since October 1998. From May 1997 to September 1998, Mr. Egan served as Executive Vice President, Products and Offerings of EMC. From January 1992 to June 1996, he served as Executive Vice President, Sales and Marketing of EMC. From October 1986 to January 1992, he served in a number of executive positions with EMC, including Executive Vice President, Operations and Executive Vice President, International Sales. Mr. Egan resigned as an executive officer of EMC in September 1998 and as an employee of EMC in July 2002. Paul Maritz

Mr. Paul A. Maritz is the Director of VMware Inc. He resigned as Chief Executive Officer of the company effective September 1, 2012. Mr. Maritz also served as VMware’s President from July 2008 to January 2011. Prior to joining VMware, he was President of EMC’s Cloud Infrastructure and Services Division after EMC acquired Pi Corporation in February 2008. Mr. Maritz was a founder of Pi and served as its Chief Executive Officer. Pi was a software company focused on building cloud-based solutions. Before founding Pi, he spent 14 years working at Microsoft Corporation, where he served as a member of the five-person Executive Committee that managed the overall company. As Vice President of the Platform Strategy and Developer Group, among other roles, he oversaw the development and marketing of System Software Products (including Windows 95, Windows NT, and Windows 2000), Development Tools (Visual Studio) and Database Products (SQL Server) and the complete Office and Exchange Product Lines. Prior to Microsoft, he spent five years working at Intel Corporation as a software and tools developer.

Paul Sagan

Mr. Paul Sagan is Director of the Company. Mr. Sagan has been a partner and XIR at General Catalyst Partners, a venture capital firm, since January 2014. Mr. Sagan is also a member of the board of directors of EMC Corporation, VMware’s parent company, (“EMC”) on which he has served since 2007. Mr. Sagan is a member of EMC’s Leadership and Compensation Committee. From April 2005 to January 2013, Mr. Sagan served as Chief Executive Officer of Akamai Technologies, Inc., a provider of services for accelerating the delivery of content and applications over the Internet, and was President from May 1999 to September 2010 and from October 2011 to December 2012. Mr. Sagan joined Akamai in October 1998 as Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. In December 2010, President Barack Obama appointed Mr. Sagan as a member of the President’s National Security Telecommunications Advisory Committee. From July 1997 to August 1998, Mr. Sagan was Senior Advisor to the World Economic Forum, a Geneva, Switzerland-based organization that provides a collaborative framework for leaders to address global issues. Previously, Mr. Sagan held senior executive positions at global media and entertainment companies Time Warner Cable and Time Inc., affiliates of Time Warner, Inc., as well as at CBS, Inc. Mr. Sagan is also a director of Akamai, where he is Vice Chairman of the board of directors, and iRobot Corporation, where he is chair of the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee.

Michael Brown

Mr. Michael W. Brown is an Independent Director of VMware Inc. Mr. Brown is also a member of the board of directors of EMC, on which he has served since 2005. Mr. Brown is a member of EMC’s Leadership and Compensation Committee, Mergers and Acquisitions Committee and Audit Committee and chair of EMC’s Finance Committee. From August 1994 until his retirement in July 1997, Mr. Brown served as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Microsoft Corporation. He was Vice President, Finance, of Microsoft from April 1993 to August 1994. He joined Microsoft in December 1989 and served as Treasurer from January 1990 to April 1993. After retiring from Microsoft, Mr. Brown served as Chair of the NASDAQ Stock Market board of directors and as a past governor of the National Association of Securities Dealers. Prior to joining Microsoft, Mr. Brown spent 18 years with Deloitte & Touche LLP in various positions. Mr. Brown is also a director of Insperity, Inc., a professional employer organization providing services such as payroll and benefits administration, where he is a member of the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee and the Finance, Risk Management and Audit Committee. He is also a director of Stifel Financial Corp, an investment banking firm (which acquired Thomas Weisel Partners Group, where Mr. Brown was Chair of the Audit Committee) where he serves on the Risk Management/Corporate Governance Committee.

Dennis Powell

Mr. Dennis D. Powell is an Independent Director of VMware Inc. Mr. Powell served as an Executive Advisor at Cisco Systems, Inc., a provider of networking products and services, from February 2008 to September 2010. Prior to that, Mr. Powell served as Cisco’s Chief Financial Officer from May 2003 to February 2008. In that position, Mr. Powell served as Cisco’s Executive Vice President from August 2007 and, previously, as its Senior Vice President since May 2003. From June 2002 to May 2003, Mr. Powell served as Cisco’s Senior Vice President, Corporate Finance. Prior to that, from January 1997 to June 2002, he served as Cisco’s Vice President, Corporate Controller. Prior to joining Cisco, Mr. Powell had a 26-year tenure at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, where he was engagement lead for several global clients, was a national SEC reviewer and had regional responsibilities for audit quality assurance in the United States. Mr. Powell is also a director of Applied Materials, Inc., a provider of fabrication services, equipment and software, where he serves as Chair of the Audit Committee and is a member of the Corporate Governance and Nominating Committee, Investment Committee and Stockholder Rights Committee. Mr. Powell is also a director of Intuit Inc., a provider of business, financial management and tax solutions for small businesses, consumers and accountants, where he serves as Chair of the Audit & Risk Committee and is a member of the Acquisition Committee.

David Strohm

Mr. David N. Strohm is an Independent Director of VMware Inc., since April 2007. Mr. Strohm is also a member of the board of directors of EMC, on which he has served since October 2003, and has served as Lead Director since January 2006. Mr. Strohm is a member of EMC’s Leadership and Compensation Committee and Mergers and Acquisitions Committee and chair of EMC’s Corporate Governance and Nominating Committee. He has been a Venture Partner of Greylock Partners (“Greylock”), a venture capital firm, since January 2001 and was a General Partner of Greylock from 1980 to 2001. He is also a General Partner of several partnerships formed by Greylock. Mr. Strohm is a director of Imperva, Inc., a provider of data security solutions, where he serves on the Audit Committee. Mr. Strohm is a former director of several public companies, including Successfactors, Inc., a provider of talent management software solutions (where he was Chairperson of the Board, Chair of the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee, and Chair of the Compensation Committee).
