Name	Description
Lindsay Maxsted	Mr. Lindsay Philip Maxsted is Non-Executive Independent Chairman of the Board of Westpac Banking Corporation, since 14 December 2011. He is Non-Executive Independent Director since March 2008. He is Director of Transurban Group (since March 2008, and Chairman since August 2010). Director of BHP Billiton Limited (since March 2011) and BHP Billiton plc (since March 2011). Lindsay was the CEO of KPMG from January 2001 to December 2007 and was a partner of KPMG from July 1984 to February 2008. Lindsay’s principal area of practice prior to becoming CEO was in the corporate recovery field managing a number of Australia’s insolvency / workout / turnaround engagements. At the request of the Victorian State Government, Lindsay was appointed to the Board of the Public Transport Corporation in December 1995 and was Chairman from 1997 to 2001.
Gail Kelly	Ms. Gail Patricia Kelly is Chief Executive Officer, Managing Director, Executive Director of Westpac Banking Corporation, since February 2008. She is The Business Council of Australia and the Financial Markets Foundation for Children. Gail began her banking career in 1980, and by 2001 Gail had held various senior management roles in a broad range of areas including retail and commercial banking, strategy, marketing and human resources. Gail has spent the last ten years as CEO of two Australian banks, St.George Bank from 2002 to 2007 and Westpac from 1 February 2008 to date. John Curtis	Mr. John Simon Curtis is Non-Executive Independent Deputy Chairman of the Board of Westpac Banking Corporation, since December 1, 2008. He is Chairman of Allianz Australia Limited. For the past 25 years John has been a professional company director and has been chairman and director of a wide variety of public companies, government entities and foreign corporations. In more recent times he has been largely involved in the financial services sector with his current appointments as set out above and former appointments with Merrill Lynch, Perpetual Limited and First Data Corporation in Australia. George Frazis	Mr. George Frazis is Chief Executive Officer - St.George Banking Group of Westpac Banking Corp., since April 2012. Prior to this appointment, George joined the Westpac Group in March 2009 as Chief Executive, Westpac New Zealand Limited. George is experienced in the financial services industry. He was formerly Group Executive General Manager at National Australia Bank. John Arthur	Mr. John L. Arthur is Chief Operating Officer, Senior Company Secretary of Westpac Banking Corporation, since 24 November 2011. He is responsible for Group Services, which encompasses technology, banking operations, property, compliance, legal and secretariat services. He joined Westpac as Group Executive, Counsel & Secretariat on 1 December 2008. Before that appointment, John was Managing Director & CEO of Investa Property Group. Ewen Crouch	Mr. Ewen Graham Wolseley Crouch has been appointed as the Non-Executive Independent Director of Westpac Banking Corporation effective February 1, 2013. Mr. Crouch has most recently been Chairman of Partners at Allens, one of Australia's law firms, a position which he held from 2009. Mr. Crouch is recognised as one of Australia's accomplished mergers and acquisitions (M&A) lawyers, having worked on some of Australia's most M&A transactions throughout his legal career. Before his most recent appointment as Chairman of Partners of Allens, Mr. Crouch was Co-Head, Mergers & Acquisitions and Equity Capital Markets. During his time as a partner of the firm, Mr. Crouch was the Executive Partner, International Offices, responsible for the China and South-East Asia practices of the firm between 1999-2004 and held the position of Deputy Managing Partner from 1993 to 1996. Robert Elstone	Mr. Robert George Elstone has been appointed as Non-Executive Independent Director of Westpac Banking Corporation, with effect from February 1, 2012. Robert has over 30 years experience in senior management roles spanning investment banking, corporate finance, wholesale financial markets and risk management. Most recently from 2006 to 2011, Robert was Managing Director and CEO of the Australian Securities Exchange, prior to which he was Managing Director and CEO of the Sydney Futures Exchange from 2000 to 2006 and, before that, Finance Director of Pioneer International from 1995 to 2000. She is Director of Shell Energy Holdings Australia Limited, Arrow Energy Holdings Pty Limited and the Energy & Minerals Institute, University of Western Australia.
