Barrett, Ronald Ronald W. Barrett, Ph.D. has been Chief Executive Officer and Director of XenoPort, Inc. Mr. Barrett is one of the founders and has served as the company's chief executive officer since September 2001. He served as the company's chief scientific officer from 1999 to 2001. Dr. Barrett has been a director since August 1999. From 1989 to 1999, he held various positions at Affymax Research Institute, a company employing combinatorial chemistry and high-throughput target screening for drug discovery, the most recent of which was senior vice president of research. Glaxo Wellcome plc, a pharmaceutical company, acquired Affymax Research Institute in 1995. Glaxo Wellcome subsequently merged with SmithKline Beecham plc, a pharmaceutical company, in 2000 to form GlaxoSmithKline plc, a pharmaceutical company. Prior to Affymax Research Institute, Dr. Barrett was a molecular pharmacologist in the Neuroscience Group at Abbott Laboratories, a healthcare company, from 1986 to 1989. Dr. Barrett received a B.S. from Bucknell University and a Ph.D. in pharmacology from Rutgers University.
Rieflin, William William J. Rieflin has been President of XenoPort, Inc. since September 2004. From 1996 to 2004, he held various positions with Tularik Inc., a biotechnology company focused on the discovery and development of product candidates based on the regulation of gene expression, the most recent of which was executive vice president, administration, chief financial officer, general counsel and secretary. Amgen Inc., a biotechnology company, acquired Tularik in 2004. Mr. Rieflin received a B.S. from Cornell University, an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business and a J.D. from Stanford Law School.

Cundy, Kenneth Kenneth C. Cundy, Ph.D. has been Senior Vice President, Preclinical Development of XenoPort, Inc. since January 2004. He was previously Company's vice president of biopharmaceutics from 2000 to 2004. From 1992 to 2000, he was senior director of biopharmaceutics at Gilead Sciences, Inc., a biopharmaceutical company. From 2001 to 2008, he held several positions with Reliant Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a pharmaceutical company, the most recent of which was senior vice president of sales and marketing. GlaxoSmithKline acquired Reliant Pharmaceuticals in 2008. Freund, John John G. Freund has been a Member of Board of Directors of XenoPort, Inc. since 1999. He has been a managing director of Skyline Ventures, a venture capital firm specializing in healthcare companies, since 1997. From 1995 to 1997, Dr. Freund was a managing director in the private equity group at Chancellor Capital Management, a private capital investment firm. AMVESCAP plc, an investment services company, acquired Chancellor Capital Management in 1998 and renamed the division INVESCO Private Capital. In 1995, he co-founded Intuitive Surgical, Inc., a medical device company. Hilleman, Jeryl Jeryl L. Hilleman has been a Member of Board of Directors of XenoPort, Inc. since January 2005. She is chief financial officer of Amyris Biotechnologies, Inc. Prior to joining Amyris in January 2008, she was executive vice president and chief financial officer of Symyx Technologies, Inc. from 1997 to June 2007. Prior to joining Symyx, Ms. Hilleman served as vice president finance and chief financial officer of two public biotechnology companies, Geron Corporation and Cytel Corporation, which merged with Epimmune Inc. in 1999. Nussbacher, Kenneth Kenneth J. Nussbacher has been a Member of Board of Directors of XenoPort, Inc. since 2000. He has been an Affymetrix fellow since 2000. Lofberg, Per Per G. H. Lofberg has been a member of Board of Directors of XenoPort, Inc. since July 2008. He has been chairman and a managing director of Pharma Capital Ventures, an investment company, since July 2008. From 2000 to July 2008, Mr. Lofberg was president and chief executive officer of Merck Capital Ventures, LLC, a subsidiary of Merck & Co., Inc., a pharmaceutical company, which invested in companies with technology-based solutions for the pharmaceutical industry. From 1993 to 2000, Mr. Lofberg was chairman of Merck-Medco Managed Care, LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Merck & Co., Inc., and a provider of prescription drug benefit management services. Mr. Lofberg joined Merck-Medco in 1988 as senior executive vice president, a member of the office of the president and a director. Fenton, Dennis Dr. Dennis M. Fenton, Ph.D., is Director of XenoPort, Inc. During his tenure at Amgen, Dr. Fenton held numerous positions including executive roles in process development, manufacturing, sales and marketing and research and development. Most recently, Dr. Fenton served as Executive Vice President, responsible for worldwide operations, manufacturing, process development and quality. Under Dr. Fenton's leadership, Amgen established manufacturing operations in California, Colorado, Puerto Rico and Rhode Island. Dr. Fenton has a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Manhattan College and a Ph.D. in Microbiology from Rutgers University.
