Mohannad Al Kharafi

Mr. Mohannad Mohammad Abdulmohsen Al Kharafi is Chairman of the Board at Mobile Telecommunications Co KSC since March 12, 2017. He is also Vice-Chairman of Mohammed Abdul Mohsen Al-Kharafi & Sons Group, Vice-Chairman of the National Investments Company. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of Kuwait Food Company (Americana). He was a Member of the Board of Directors of Al-Ali Fuel Company. Mr. Al Kharafi has experience in the real estate sector, holding the position of General Manager of Al-Dorar Al-Arba’a Trading and Real Estate Company. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Business, Economics and Political Science from Kuwait University (1991).

Ousama Matta

Mr. Ousama Michael Matta serves as Chief Financial Officer - Zain Group for Mobile Telecommunications Co KSC since June 10, 2010. He has 15 years of experience in finance, corporate finance and management in the Middle East. He joined Zain in 2004 as the Chief Financial Officer of the Lebanon MTC touch operation, thereafter promoted in 2007 to Chief Financial Officer of Zain Kuwait. In early 2008, Mr. Matta was promoted to the role of Middle East Finance Officer, overseeing the operations of Bahrain, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Sudan. Mohammed Al Charchafchi

Ahmad Al Hanandeh

Mr. Ahmad Al Hanandeh was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Zain Jordan at Mobile Telecommunications Co KSC, effective July 1, 2011. He comes to Zain Jordan with a professional track record, having joined as Chief Financial Officer of Zain Sudan mobile operation in March 2011. Before that, he was for four years the General Manager of Posta Plus, the Gulf-based company specializing in delivery, courier and postal services across the Middle East. From 1994 to 2006, he was a key member of the Aramex Group initially joining as an accountant and rising to country manager of several of Aramex’s Asian operations. He graduated in Finance and Banking from Yarmouk University, Jordan in 1994.

Eaman Al Roudhan

Mrs. Eaman Al Roudhan is Chief Executive Officer of Zain Kuwait at Mobile Telecommunications Co KSCP since December 1, 2015. She was Chief Corporate Affairs Officer at the Company since October 30, 2014 till December 1, 2015. She brings over 20 years of experience to the position, 18 years of which were spent in various executive management and leadership roles within Zain Kuwait as well as several Zain Group affiliates. Her career at Zain Group commenced in 1998 within the Kuwait operation. As Zain expanded across the region, her responsibilities also grew from 2003 onwards as she was an active participant in the start-up teams in several Zain operations across the Middle East, namely Bahrain, Iraq, Lebanon, and Saudi Arabia. Mrs. Al Roudhan continued to play a key role in the transformation of Zain, building operational teams and establishing solid foundations for business units across all major telecommunications sectors including Intelligent Networks, product & service development, strategy and business planning, roaming, wholesale and carrier business, as well as regulatory affairs. She is a member in a number of international standards and regulatory affairs bodies such as the GSMA Arab World regional interest group and the GSMA Chief Regulatory Officer Group (CROG). She holds a B. Sc in Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering from Kuwait University and attended programs at Tokyo Institute of Technology (TIT), and executive programs at Harvard Business School.

Ali Al Zahid

Mr. Ali Al Zahid is Chief Executive Officer of Zain Iraq at Mobile Telecommunications Co KSC since February 1, 2017. Prior to his appointment, he held the position of Chief Commercial Officer of Zain Iraq since June 2015. He joined the Zain Iraq as Director of Sales in September 2013. He brings 17 years of experience with international telecom operators including Orange Austria, O2 Germany (Telefonica), and Zain Iraq to his new role. He also has experience in management consultancy, working with two European based firms for five years. Mr. Al Zahid graduated with a M. Sc in Management & Communication from Danube University Krems (Austria) in 2004 and is currently part of the TRIUM Global Executive MBA with the London School of Economics, HEC Paris and NYU Stern.

Elfatih Erwa

Mr. Elfatih Mohammed Ahmad Erwa serves as Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Zain, Sudan at Mobile Telecommunications Co KSC (Zain) since May 2012. He was Managing Director of Zain in Sudan at the Company since July 5, 2008 till May 2012. He joined the University of Khartoum as a student in the Faculty of Economics and Social Studies, and then moved to the Military College to graduate in 1970. Later, he worked in the Air Defense Forces and attended several training courses in Electronics, Radar and Artillery in Sudan and the United Kingdom. He served as an instructor in Sudan Military College prior to joining the National Security Services in 1976, where he served till 1985. During that period, he attended several professional training courses in Intelligence, Technical operations and Strategic Studies, nationally and in the United States. He served as Consul General in the Embassies of Sudan in Moscow and Addis Ababa (Ethiopia) during the period of 1977 to 1984. Mr. Erwa holds an Airline Transport Pilot License (APTL), and a helicopter Pilot license. He worked in the private sector aviation field from 1986 until 1987.

Scott Gegenheimer

Mr. Scott Marc Gegenheimer serves as Chief Executive Officer - Operations of Mobile Telecommunications Co KSC since March 12, 2017. He was Chief Executive Officer of Mobile Telecommunications Co KSC since December 2, 2012 till March 12, 2017. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and Management from Northern Illinois University in 1989 and a Master of Business Administration from DePaul University, Chicago in 1993. Mr. Gegenheimer is a telecom veteran of over 24 years' experience. Prior to joining Zain Group, he spent the last decade in various senior management and leadership positions at regional operators, including in Kuwait. He spent time working for technology Companies including Cisco Systems and Motorola, and has enjoyed a stint in the financial services industry in the United States. He was elected as a Member of the Board of Global System Mobile Association (GSMA) in January 2017. He is also a Commissioner to the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) & UNESCO Broadband Commission for Sustainable Development and a Member of the Board of directors of SAMENA Telecommunications Council. In addition, He is a Member of the Board of directors of Zain Saudi Arabia (Zain KSA), and of Zain's smart cities solutions provider, (neXgen Group).

Emre Gurkan

Mr. Emre Gurkan is Group Chief Strategy & Business Development Officer, Chief Executive Officer – touch, Lebanon at Mobile Tele communications Co KSC since April 7, 2017. He was Chief Strategy Officer of Mobile Tele communications Co KSC since February 10, 2014 till April 7, 2017. He comes to the Group with over 20 years of experience, encompassing consulting and industry experience in Middle East, Africa, North America and Europe. Prior to joining the Group, he was the Group Chief Strategy Officer of Oger Telecom. Mr. Gurkan held other senior roles in A.T. Kearney and McKinsey & Company in Atlanta, Dallas, Istanbul and Dubai offices and served telecom operators in various regions. In addition, he also worked at Turkcell Telecommunications and Baan Company and was a co-founder of an applications development company. He holds an MBA from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, an M. Sc in Management Information Systems from London School of Economics and Political Science and a B. Sc in Computer Engineering from Istanbul Technical University.

Peter Kaliaropoulos

Mr. Peter Kaliaropoulos is Chief Executive Officer of Zain Saudi Arabia at Mobile Telecommunications Co KSCP since January 1, 2017. He has over 30 years international ICT experience, leading the transformation and growth of a number of mobile and fixed companies. In the last 12 years, he held Chief Executive roles with several companies across the Middle East. His previous experience includes leadership roles such as MD at Optus Business, Australia, MD Mobiles at Telstra, Australia, CEO of Clear Communications, NZ, COO at StarHub, Singapore and various other senior executive roles with BT Asia Pacific and Telstra USA. Mr. Kaliaropoulos also serves as a Director on the boards of a number of established telecommunications companies and ICT start-ups in Australia, USA, Singapore, India and the Middle East. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical) from University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia and a Master of Business Administration from Macquarie University, Sydney.

Mohammed Zainalabedin

Mr. Mohammed Zainalabedin serves as General Manager of Zain in Bahrain at Mobile Telecommunications Co KSC since May 1, 2008. Prior to this appointment, he acted as Chief Commercial Officer for Zain Bahrain, where he was responsible for the sales, marketing and customer care departments. Prior to joining Zain Bahrain, he had attained almost 10 years of experience in the information technology (IT) field, working for companies, such as International Turnkey Systems, where he held the position of the core banking group manager in the banking group. Mr. Zainalabedin holds a Bachelor of Science degree with Honors in Computer Engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, Saudi Arabia.

Hisham Allam

Mr. Hisham Allam serves as Group Chief Technology Officer at Mobile Telecommunications Co KSC since December 2011. Prior to his appointment, he was the Chief Operating Officer of Zain Sudan, having joined the operation in May 2003 as Chief Technology Officer. He has over 20 years of experience in the fields of Information Technology and Telecommunications. Mr. Allam holds a Bachelor of Science in Electronics Engineering degree from the University of Kent in England. He also attended several courses ranging from software development to systems administration as well as leadership and management.

Abdul Ghaffar Setareh

Mr. Abdul Ghaffar Setareh is Group Chief Risk Officer at Mobile Telecommunications Co KSCP since January 18, 2016. A corporate executive with over 30 years of operational, engineering, insurance and risk management experience in mobile telecommunications and technology sectors across the Middle East and Africa, he first joined the Group in 1995 as a senior transmission engineer, having spent the previous 10 years with the Kuwait Ministry of Communications engineering department. He led the Zain Group Risk Department, as its Director since July 2005 and previously to that, was the company’s Corporate Security Manager, a position he held since 2002. Mr. Setareh graduated with a Telecommunications Engineering degree from the Ecole Nationale des Telecommunications, Rabat, Morocco in 1984. He is a Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) and Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC).

Adlai Shalabi

Mr. Adlai Shalabi has been appointed as Head of Legal for Zain Group effective May 1, 2015. As the chief legal advisor in charge of all legal matters at Zain Group, he manages a legal team that provides support and advice related to all of the Zain’s activities including Corporate Structuring, Compliance, Strategy, Commercial, Finance, M&A, Tax, Litigation, Labor Law, Human Resources and Procurement. Mr. Shalabi also oversees the more complex and materially impactful legal issues for the Group’s affiliates. He is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, the Chicago Bar Association and the Arab American Bar Association, as well as various legal societies in Illinois, and is member with the Illinois Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission. He has also served as the Legal Committee Chairman of the Advisory Council to the City of Chicago’s Commission on Human Relations. He was an accelerated three-year graduate in 1989 from the University of Illinois at Chicago, where he double majored in Political Science and Criminal Justice, and minored in History. After receiving his Bachelor of Arts degree, he attended John Marshall Law School and received his Juris Doctorate degree in 1993.

Henri Kassab

Mr. Henri Kassab is Managing Director, International, Wholesale and Roaming of Group at Mobile Telecommunications Co KSCP since January 2014. With over 40 years of experiences, he joined Zain Group in December 2012. Throughout his career, he held executive positions with various international telecommunications companies that are leaders in the field. RCA Global Communications was his first stop. It was followed by a sequence of moves within the industry that took him to MCI International, Teleglobe Canada, WorldCom and Verizon Business.

Duncan Howard

Mr. Duncan Howard is Group Chief Commercial Officer at Mobile Telecommunications Co KSCP since July 1, 2014. He joined the Group in September 2013 managing Group Operations. He came to the Group with 20 years’ experience in Mobile, Television and Fixed Telecoms across the Middle East, Europe and North America. He has Commercial and Operational expertise that have included key roles as Chief Commercial Officer for a Quad-Play provider offering mobile, fixed, data and both Broadcast and IPTV services. He also held positions as Chief Marketing Officer, Chief Business Officer and Director of Customer Care & Retail for Vodafone in Egypt. Mr. Howard holds an MBA from Open University, UK and BA (Hons) in System Analysis from University of the West of England.

Mohammad Abdal

Mr. Mohammad Abdal is Group Chief Communication Officer at Mobile Telecommunications Co KSCP since July 10, 2015. Over 15 years, he rose rapidly through the organization, playing a key role in various aspects of the company. He joined the finance department at Zain Kuwait where he climbed up the ranks to lead the investor relations department eventually. In 2005, he joined Zain Group. Mr. Abdal run Zain Group Investor Relations department as its Director since 2008 and in January 2012, was given the added responsibility of overseeing the Group’s Corporate Communications Department. In early 2014, he established the Group’s Corporate Governance division. He is a founding Member and Chairman of the Middle East Investor Relations Society chapter in Kuwait and a Member of the globally recognized National Investor Relations Institute (NIRI). Mr. Abdal graduated in 2001 from Portland State University, Oregon, US with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a double major in Finance & Management Information Systems. He attended executive programs in recent years. He is a Certified Investments and Derivatives Auditor (CIDA), a Certified Investor Relations Officer and a Certified Corporate Governance Officer.

Dr. Andrew Arowojolu is Group Chief Regulatory Officer at Mobile Telecommunications Co KSCP since October 1, 2016. A seasoned telecom executive with over 25 years of experience and a proven track-record in the telecom industry across the Middle East, Europe, Africa and Asia, he joined the Group in 2003 and most recently held the role of Group Executive Director, Strategy & Business Development. Prior to joining the Group, he had worked in professional engineering consulting for 11 years for UK based firms , specializing in radio network design, software solutions, and engineering services for telecommunications operators. Since August 2003, Dr. Andrew held senior leadership positions within Zain Group in the areas of corporate strategy development, mergers & acquisitions, and business development. He holds a Doctorate degree (Ph.D.) in Mobile Radio Communications (1994) and a M. Sc. in Microelectronic and Telecommunications from University of Liverpool, United Kingdom (1991) and a B.Sc. (First Class) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from University of Lagos (1988). Dr. Andrew is a Member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology and of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers.

Husam Al Kharafi
