Profile: Aluminum Corporation of China Limited (ACH)

Aluminum Corporation of China Limited is principally engaged in the extraction of aluminum oxide, electrolyzation of virgin aluminum and the processing and production of aluminum. The Company operates its business through three segments: aluminum oxide segment, producing and selling aluminum oxide, aluminum hydroxide and gallium; virgin aluminum, providing virgin aluminum, carbon element products and aluminum alloys, and aluminum processing segment, offering casting products, slab band products, foils, squeezing products, forging products, powder products and die-casting products. The Company's gallium products include gallium metal and gallium oxide. The Company also provides remelted aluminum ingots. The Company's products are applied in construction, electricity, packaging, transportation, nondurable consumer goods, hard board material, wire and cable, ceramics, refractory material, laundry, petrochemical, and aero-space industries.

On May 21, 2008, the Company entered into an acquisition agreement with Aluminum Corporation of China and China Nonferrous Metals Processing Technology Co., Ltd. (Transferors) to acquire 100% of interest in Lanzhou Liancheng Longxing Aluminum Company Limited, 100% of interest in Chinalco Southwest Aluminum Cold Rolling Company Limited, 84.02% interest in Chinalco Henan Aluminum Company Limited, 75% interest in Chinalco Ruimin Co., Ltd., 60% interest in Chinalco Southwest Aluminum Co., Ltd. and 56.86% interest in Huaxi Aluminum Company Limited from the Transferors. The acquisition was completed in June 2008.

Alumina segment

Alumina segment consists of mining and purchasing bauxite and other raw materials, refining bauxite into alumina, and selling alumina both internally to the its primary aluminum smelters and externally to customers outside the Company. This segment also includes the production and sales of chemical alumina (including alumina hydrate and alumina chemicals) and gallium.

Primary aluminum segment

Primary aluminum segment consists of procuring alumina and other raw materials, supplemental materials and electricity power, smelting alumina to produce primary aluminum and selling substantially all primary aluminum products to external customers. This segment also includes production and sales of carbon products and small amount of aluminum-fabricated products.
