African Minerals Limited (AML) is a minerals exploration, development and production company with interests in Sierra Leone. The Company is engaged in the development, design, construction and operation of iron ore deposit at Tonkolili, Sierra Leone, and its related rail and port infrastructure, and the marketing and sale of the iron ore produced from this project. The Company’s flagship project comprises the Tonkolili iron ore deposit. As of December 31, 2011, the Company owned 75% interest in Tonkolili iron ore deposit. On March 30, 2012, Shandong Iron and Steel Group (SISG) acquired a 25% interest in the mine, rail and port and power subsidiaries comprising the Tonkolili iron ore project.
